Giro d'Italia - Stage 4
PRESS RELEASE:
Due to an earthquake near RAI's headquarter, they can't provide pictures from the fourth stage of Giro d'Italia 2009. Lot's of their cameras and satellite dishes were trashed, and the TV-pictures might drop out in some ocassions later. RAI is deeply sorry for this incident, and hope to fix it before the big mountainstages coming up.
What really happened:
The T-button on my keyboard isn't working well since I bashed my hands on the keyboard after PCM crashed for the 231312213. time. I'll switch keyboard, but I've allready finished playing to stage 7, so have me excused if I miss some pictures. I also forgot to export...

Giro d'Italia - Stage 5
A tough but short stage today. Im a domestique for Simoni.
Have a look at the beauty of Italy! Today Scarponi will try to get some more points for the climber’s jersey, and Simoni will try to gain some time on Kirchen, and Schleck too if possible.
Scarponi got away and took all the points on the first climb. After that, he fell back in the peloton and tried to gain strength towards the next climb, Alpe di Siusi.
And the action starts right ahead, with Soler going at the bottom of the climb! He’s feeling good, and can be a threat to Simoni. I went to the front immediately and race him down.
And five kilometers later Pereiro attacked! He’s looked better than Valverde in the first stages, and he may be Caisse d’Epargne’s captain of the tour?
I didn’t have enough energy left to chase him down, so I fell back in the pack while Scarponi was approaching to the front. Scarponi was actually so strong that he got a gap, and he kept on racing tough to increase it.
With 8 km left, Kirchen in Maglia Rosa is attacking! What is it with this man? Simoni is onto his wheel, and Schleck is on his trail.
Together they have formed a leading group. This might be the big battle of this Giro! Simoni is the only person who’s taking a relay. Kirchen and Schleck probably don’t have enough energy to ride at the front, so Gibo is trying to drop them.
It turned out that Kirchen didn’t have enough left in his legs, and he got dropped with 3 km left. But stupid Schleck who was refusing to take relays attacked. Gibo tried to chase him down, but after pacing for 4 km he couldn’t keep up with him.
So he’s second. Schleck got a gap of 30 seconds. Luckily there’s still many stages left for us. We haven’t lost the tour yet. Can Simoni take his third victory and join names like Brunero, Bartali, Gimondi, Magni and not to mention Hinault?
I did a well ride today, and finished in what’s left of the pack. Scarponi attacked towards the end, trying to get some climbing points and a better time. Generally a great ride by all of us today, just unlucky that Saxo Bank rode better…

Giro d'Italia - Stage 6
Really long stage today. Let's make some panic in the peloton towards the end.
Simoni is in Maglia Verde today, even though he’s not the rightful owner.
A break went early, and got a gap of 14 minutes. Now big deal though, Saxo Bank will chase them down.
Boom, who was in the break, fell with 100 km left. He didn’t make it back to the group, and dropped back to the peloton.
And look who’s dropped once again! Vladimir Efimkin can’t keep up with the pace today either.
At the last climb, Pellizotti saw an opportunity to go, so he went off. Simoni got onto his wheel, hoping to gain some time on the Luxembourgian duo. Gibo was first over the climb, but many riders came up to his group in the downhill section. Simoni tried to attack towards the end, but everybody countered.
Then Schleck and Kirchen attacked, and Simoni couldn’t keep up with them. They would gain some time today, but hopefully Gibo manages to minimize the gap.
Simoni didn’t lose too much time, but the time is valuable anyway. Tomorrow it’ll hopefully be a better day.

Yeah, but I took the SS in the "last results" page, and I had already played the next stages, so I didn't want to show you the standings after that. |

Giro d'Italia - Stage 7
Strange stage today… Pretty similar to the Central Massiv area in France. It’s a downhill finish, so watch out for Simoni!
Here’s the break. Dupont is there, but nothing serious. They won’t stand the distance.
Brajkovic fell! This will be a serious scalp for his chances on Maglia Bianca.
Nibali sees an opportunity, and sets the pace on the pack.
Downhill, and this is what we planned… Gibo is attacking! With 20 km left, he sees his opportunity to go! Will he make it, or will he be caught? No response from Schleck and Kirchen.
But that won’t last too long. Sanchez is trying to get away too, and is taking time on Schleck and Kirchen. But he can’t come up to Simoni, the gap is too big.
Simoni won the stage, a miraculous performance! Very few people would’ve taken such risks in a steep downhill section. Sanchez is second. I saw my chance to take a podium, but I was outsprinted by Roche and Roels. But fifth is good!
