Stage 1 : Albufeira - Faro
The breakaway
6km to go Ventoso has no chance to follow Vaitkus so Vaitkus is our last hope today. He gets the back wheel of Freire. This looks great!
This looks very good for us today maybe the first podium this season?..
..Of course Freire is too fast but we are still on the podium!..O´Grady is second...
Oscar is the winner great sprint of him,but who is second???It was very tight i think because Vaitkus was faster than O´Grady in the end.
Yeeees! That´s more than a podium it´s the second position for us.Fantastic stage for Vaitkus!
Stage results:
1 Oscar Freire Rabobank 3h44'45
2 Tomas Vaitkus Astana Cycling Team s.t.
3 Stuart O'Grady Team Saxo Bank s.t.
4 Kurt-Asle Arvesen Team Saxo Bank s.t.
5 Eric Baumann Team Nutrixxion - Sparkasse s.t.
6 Peter Wrölich Team Milram s.t.
7 Tony Martin Team Columbia - High Road s.t.
8 Bartlomiej Matysiak CCC Polsat Polkowice s.t.
9 Graeme Brown Rabobank s.t.
10 Jonathan Bellis Team Saxo Bank s.t.
Overall:
1 Oscar Freire Rabobank 3h44'25
2 Tomas Vaitkus Astana Cycling Team + 8
3 Stuart O'Grady Team Saxo Bank + 12
4 Stefan Parinussa Team Nutrixxion - Sparkasse + 14
5 Edgar Miguel Lemos Pinto Liberty Seguros s.t.

If you want to win you don't take a big sprinter's wheel. Cause when he will accelerate you will be left behind just like in that stage.
But if you just want a good spot and not really the win you take a big name's wheel.
If you want to have a bigger chance to take a win try to go after a train(made for a medium sprinter) that could be faster than the big name's train so you could have some metres advantage over him when the sprint starts so a better chance to win rather than being behind him in my opionion.
