Tirreno - Adriatico 2009

Petacchi owned the others...really strong sprint, Bennati could barely follow.

Also Serramenti really strong on the climb. Scarponi, Simoni and co were really doing well

And,in the fall at the foot of the final climb, Boonen injured his knee. Also Thomas Dekker lost his GC aspirations there, he was also in the fall (caused by a motorbike, uphill... :? ) and his bike didn't change gears after that anymore. He had to wait for the DS car, which was way too far back. He is a bit dissapointed because he felt pretty good...
Damn. A fall uphill..just when you think you've seen it all

Was he the columbian rider who went down in that bend, before the place where the motorcycle crashed?

Ffs, Thomas dekker had to ride the last 20km on the highest gear (52x12)

How much bad luck can you have? Fuck this. incident number 23523523523 this year already

Dekker is bad news for me as I am a fan of Silence and betted him for final general classification. I hope he at least gets a major classics victory this year.

Yeah I am really dissapointed as well. Sad

Klöden apparantly had two falls on the stage, but still managed to finish with the peleton.

Yeah it was easy to come back in the downhill. Too bad Thomas Dekker only had his biggest gear, and still had 2 climbs to go. The extra bad luck part was his bike...

Biathlon
Why didnt he change bike?

He couldn't. They were already climbing at that point, and the Silence Lotto DS car was way too far back, so they told him to go on.

Goldberger
Klöden also mentioned in his webpage that he think there are too many wild card teams in the race. I think he has a point, there are 7 wild card teams, plus the 18 pro tour teams.

When you put 200 riders on narrow italian roads, i think you get more accident than normal. A day like yesterday with such nice weather shouldn't have been a chrashfestWink

are you sure about this issoisso? cause if the crash was when the motorbike went down, Lövkvist did go to the top of the pack very fast, and was sitting among the 10 first over the last climb and was looking very good

I read on the live feed on cyclingnews, that he was involved in the crash with Brajkovic at km 122, long before the last climbes. He looked really good on the climb but I guess you get stiff after a crash so we'll have to wait and see.
