Stage 2
Campagnatico - Orbetello
Basso stage..he promised to atack today. To get back that uphill atack after two years break of racing.
Lets skip the first "rolling" part of the race..straight to atack. First favorite Mazzanti atack..Katusha team has been so far so good at this season..I realy hope they can continue this way.
When Caucchioli atack..there go's also Basso. After Mazzanti
Basso taking over pace making duty..they have problems to follow him. No one wont help him..peloton is coming back.
Basso accelerates again..hy not to have some fun. This is he's one an only race on February.
Here trying Mazzanti, Caucchioli and Simone Masciarelli atack again to cach Basso.
Pierrick Fédrigo amazing counter atack..he passes all of them and takes stage lead.
Atack after atack..Dessel, Anza and Tonti has joined with lead group. Masciarelli looks tyred ..he cant follow.
Final km. has started..has Basso was climbing realy ok..then into middle this hilly sprinters he dont feel comfortable at all.
And another Katusha high point..Mazzanti takes stage win and leader jersey.
Unfair..main group dont lost any time today. All this effort for nothing.
One stage to go.

Stage 2
Sausalito - Santa Rosa
First stage in Amgen race is for sprinters. Profile give us few tricyi hills. If there peloton has into fast race speed several sprinters will not survive there.
And there we are..Brown has long gone..now MvEwen has trouble to keep up..he will make it..thanks for downhill.
And there go´s Nuyes..strange move just before the sprint.
Nuyens sliping away..Saxo Bank trying to cach him (Arvesen, O´Grady. Bennati should follow them.
Damn its hard to keep up..Highroad train with Cavedish on the same mission. Astana with Vaitus..trying hard..but they are faiding.
Bennati did it..he is sitting right behind O´Grady..this is it for Nuyens..Pineau managed get there.
Sprint O´Grady opens..Bennati is in perfect position. Pippo and prologue winner Cancellara will be into this battle.
And there go´s Bennati ..No chanche for others.
Bennati takes stage win..and tour leader jersey. Liquigas has still problem decide who will be team leader Kreuiger or Nibali. Next race will tell...amd ofcorse last TT

Stage 3
Grosseto - Grosseto
Lets finish Basso training camp race..this will be race with my weakest final result.
Last hill Dessell atack..Basso follows. He will counter for any atack today.
Downhill..Basso will try to get some guys to help for escape..no result..he is going alone.
Not for long..LPR and Lampre will chase him down.
And teher go's sprint..several Cervelo test team riders out there..they will plan something today. Oss is Liquigas player.
Yukiya Arashiro leading..Gavazzi and Haussler follows. Oss is good..Petacchi is to far behind.
Haussler takes stage win..Oss wasnt able to keep he's position all the way.
This tour was humiliation for Liquigas, also good lesson to not get to exited..thank good it's over now.

Terrible tour Rabo main sprinter Brown he wasnt strong enough follow yesterday..Today same story..
Todays breakaway group Niki Terpstra,Bartosz Huzarski, Christian Knees,Jonathon Clarke, Mikaël Chérel, Kevin De Weert, Graham Howard,Jos Van Emden and Shinichi Fukushima
Peloton started a chase Liquigas, Katusha and Highroad will work together.
And all will end with mass sprint..there is two sharp corners before finish line. Riders should be careful..to pass them without crash..
First corner Highroad and Saxo bank..Arvesen , O'Grady, Cancellara, Cavedish, Pippo, Barrojo and Bennati. Nuyens is Rabo rider..he was trying again with long sprint..and now he is so tyred.

O'Grady takes stage win..Bennati second. You just cant win any day. Bennati still holds tour leader jersey.

Stage 4
Modesto - San Jose
Today real tour starts..several ataks expected. I not fan of two leader system..but I'm doing the best to give both Kreuziger and Nibali theyr chanches.
Breakaway group..Liquigas has enough climbing helpers. They send Wladimir Miholjevic to breakaway group (goal is climber jersey). He go's when Hamilton atack. Lead group is formed Hamilton, Miholijevic, Barrojo, Crane, Ian McLeod and Rémy Di Gregorio
Breakaway group has solid lead..there is 83km. still to race when Albasini atacking away from peloton..and started to chase breakaway riders.
Albasini is coming from behind..there is over 60km. to run group at the front just cant work together..and solution for that ? Stupid atack after after atack situation.
Miholjevic knows that if he likes to have climber jersey he need to keep up at the top..after several atack there is just four riders left Miholjevic, Hamilton, McLeod and Di Gregorio.
And here comes Albasini..super strong solo ride ...he caching lead four on that climb.
at the same climb few minutes later ... movment in peloton..Chavanel and Pozzato atack..
Tempo is real high..race leader Bennati has difficulty to follow..still Szmydt near him..to help him out
Last climb of the day..Sevilla opens sprint madness..Saxo controlling a race for Cancellara and Schleck
..then Karpets and Fränk atack..this is serious
..Kreuziger atack..seconds later Nibali, Armstrong, Pfannberger...key moment..
At the hill top they caching Wladimir Miholjevic...who has power to counter and take there max. climbing points. This has turned up as perfect tactic play.
Downhill..lead group has formed..Armstrong, Schleck, Gusev, Chavanel, Hincapie, Karpets, Joly and Liquigas managed to get there 3 riders Nibali, Kreuziger and Miholjevic.
Miholjevic carring water to team mate..making tempo and have been all day long at front..have to give up..10km. before finish line. He is my hero today,
Armstrong will lead leader group into down..home crowd is realy enthusiastic at this moment.
Kreuzoger who has just waited he's moment behind big Lance..opens the sprint. This hard one..I was shure that Chavanel and Hincapie had better chanches..but they have no energy left.
Armstrong is the one who dont want exept he's lost..he fights thrue the line..Photofinish..YEAAAH! Kreuziger.. winner. This was just great race..
1) Such a fun
2) Climber jersey
3) Stage win
4) Tour leader jersey
5) Young rider jersey
6) Best team
Perfect day...you have to belive me it wasnt easy..but at the end extremly lucky one.

Stage 5
Seaside - San Luis Obispo
Last stage before important TT
Wladimir Miholjevic and Szmydt speeding faster peloton on every climb.
Final climb...Karpets is first to atack..
..then Joly, Pate, Sevilla and Nibali. Who is next?..
Gusev, Armstrong, Schleck and tour leader Kreuziger.
They all made nice strong lead group..second wave...Viconti. Nibali counter atack..plan fot today is clear now. Nibali will follow most of the atack..and take risk. Kreuziger is more conservative today.
..this is far from over. Armstrong atack.
Kreuziger need to ride hard to close that gap..Nibali has orders ..to stay close to race leader.
So many atack's again and no result..when they come to sprint area all back together..Kreuziger, Nibali, Schleck, Armstrong, Karpets, Visconti, Gusev, Chavanel, Sevilla and Joly (who has done great job..at last 2 stages)
Both Liquigas riders is quite exausted..Nibali will give he's last to protect Kreuziger. Schelck opens the sprint..2 Katusha riders follows.
This is gonna be between those 3..maybe Visconti. Nibali is completly out of the game..Armstrong is out. Kreuziger dont have nothing more left..he will try just hang on.
Big guy taking stage win..and this is double for Katusha.I am starting to affraid this team.
There go's Kreuziger leader jersey to Gusev.

Stage 6
Solvang - Solvang
Here we go..Liquigas young guys Nibali and Kreuziger has fighted well. Today we probably decide race final standings.
First good time to beat...Michael Schär at the end of they 42. (+2'15)
Man who beat that time Hagen 18.(+1'35)
Then Cornu 20.(+1'36)
Katusha dream continues..Pozzato ...realy strong ride 11. (+1'08)
Pinotti 10. (+1'06)
Voigt 12. (+1'08)
Posthuma 6. (+48 sec.)
Rogers 5. (+44 sec.)
Larsson 4. (+38sec.)
Fabian...again..TT stage win. This guy seems to be unbeatable.
"Big George" 3. (+24 sec.)..back into GC top 6.
Chavanel 16. (+1'24)
Liquigas hope..Nibali 15. (+1'22)..not hugh success, but managed to keep himself inside top 6. I missed Kreuziger shot some how..13 (+1'15)..welcome back to the reality young man...4th. in GC.
Fränk Schleck 23. (+1'45)..there go's Saxo bank GC dreams.
Karpets 8. (+57sec.)..and another Katusha "ghost" tour leader Gusev 9. (+58sec.). This was one day leader jersey glory.
Armstrong 2. (+11 sec.)..good enough to take solid tour lead..great timing and tour build up.
After a race I was a little dissapointed. I did not expect GC lead..but Kreuziger needed 15 sec. to be in podium. They managed to spoil me has manager with this early success. I belive that moment dissapointment will pass..If I managed to keep both young guns inside top 6. This is season first great startlist tour.
Bennati was a man over expectation today.

You lost the jersey as expected. Is there any hilly stages left, so you can win it back? |

Nope ..last stage maybe..
But now I work about hour more..and then I hope to have great news for mac users. There is possible to run..Cycling manager in mac (egoistic reasons..then I can play the game where ever I am no just home with "kick ass" pc) |

Stage 7
Santa Barbara - Santa Clarita
Two stages to go..this is for Bennati. Nice hill cascade..Wladimir Miholjevic will be out there to collect more mountain points. This is guy who seems a like to be into breakaway.
Lake bug..
Wladimir Miholjevic and Mikaël Chérel in breakaway. They share pace making and have over 5 min. lead.
50km. to go. Flecha atack away from peloton. They should afraid Rabo flat "diesel"
Flecha caching breakaway duo..he is doing few relays. then he decided this isnt enough and off he go's. Miholjevic and Chérel just cant follow.
Not for ong..peloton moving real fast. They caching him..when we have 20km. to go.
Again! Has they did in stage 2..now they trying again Saxo duo Arvesen and O'Grady trying to slip away. First time when they tryed this Bennati was first to react..today he is to far at the peak.
and now one does ...Success..kind of "easy-cheated" stage win to O'Grady..
Bennati takes third place..easy one for him also ..to beat race of the group.
There is one stage to run..Nibali and Kreuziger should be careful..If they like finish the tour inside top 6.
And before that we will swich machine..for play
