Stage 6
Last stage of Tour. It´s totally flat, we expect mass sprint in the end.
We can´t collect any bonus seconds as four riders attacked just after start.
They cooperated very good and are cought less then 3km to go...our last chance to improve position in GC is to beat Hesjedal for about 30 places! Decision is clear, Rujano (SP 60) will join mass sprint and try his luck!
Max Richeze is the fastest man, Rujano finishes about 10th place...where is Hesjedal? He is deeply in peloton, it looks very hopefully!
When I saw podium places I was very happy and forgot export results

February 2009
We´ll participate in three stage races.
Le Tour de Langkawi - 6 flat stages with some minor hills and 1 mountain stage, this is our chance to succeed. We are very interested of the power of field.
Volta ao Algavre - I expect many big names will participate, so our chances will be very small, but it could be a good preparation for last race in February
MTN Giro del Capo - 5 stages, 2 stages with mountain (hill) finish and short time trial in the end of race would fit for our team, I hope we could do some good results here.
Btw we ´ve asked for WC for Paris-Nice

Welcome in Malaysia, Le Tour de Langkawi starts! 7 stages before us, including mountain stage finishing in Genting Highlands, not steep but very long climb in very hard climate conditions. Look at the startlist. We can see one of the best sprinters ever Thor Hushovd. How about climbers? Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce Carlos Sastre, winner of TdF 2008! It´s his first start this season, so we can know nothing about his current form. Next stars are our old fellow Haimar Zubeldia, we can´t underestimate French outstanding climber David Moncoutie, another Astana´s guys Chris Horner and Maxim Iglinskiy or Alexander Efimkin from AG2R. And of course, we can´t forget our leaders, Rujano and Medina. Our goal for Tour is TOP10 in GC.

Stage 1
1st of pack of flat stages, with one small hill in the middle of stage. Only strong wind could modify expected course. We want to do nothing, just to stay deeply in pack.
Group of 13 or 14 riders cooperated well in front, but main pack controlled situation all the time, the biggest gap was about 2 minutes only. Portal will wear KOM jersey tomorrow.
Escapees has caught 25km before finish. We are 10km later and Nicolas Roche, the 3rd man of present UCI Pro Tour rankings, set very high pace and splits peloton to few parts. And it seems there is a gap between him and others riders!
Roche is still at front alone! Will Nicolas be able to hold his advantage before reformed pack?
Yes he is and celebrates (or not? ) victory! Hushovd is 2nd with the same time as winner. All our riders finished easily in peloton.

Stage 2
The short, but very steep hill shortly after start is a challenge for us, I´ve decided Medina will try to get some points and money
Our plan worked perfectly, Medina attacked together with three other riders and is first on top with comfortable lead. His mission is over, he won´t continue in solo ride.
No more important moments hapenned, Thor Hushovd wins mass sprint easily, Roche is the second ahead of Wilson.
Export to MS excell doesn´t work properly for some reason, can´t copy/paste
Nicolas Roche holds yellow, green & white jerseys, Portal stays in KOM jersey.

Interesting first stage that...
Just a mini hint, if you do your screenshots in PNG format rather than jpg, they come out a little bit clearer, which is nicer to see the details. Not much difference, but makes it real pretty
Keep up the good writing!

Stage 3
Total flat, we expect nothing interesting today.
And we are almost right, three noname riders attacked shortly after start, but didn´t cooperate and all of them went solo ride. Last of then was caught 30km before finish. Only interesting moment of this stage. Good Astana´s climber Paulinho makes a bed on the road.
Thor Hushovd outclasses all sprinters again. And he takes yellow and green jerseys from Roche.

Stage 4
Longest stage of Tour with some hills in second half. It could promise some interesting action.
There were some attacks in early of stage, but nothing importan. Now, 56km to go, only De Maria stays ahead of peloton, Manuel Medina takes some points for 2nd place.
This race is already starts as big names decided it´s right time for some action. Rebellin attacks first, Bertagnolli and Roche counters!
Pires attacks!
And this is Zubeldia! Jaksche counters!
Rujano falls just 4km before finish!!! It´s over for all our hopes, we just have buried our chances to finish in TOP10 in GC.
Roche drops leading group.
And Rebellin is the winner! What a great performance for him. He´s smart and still very strong. Bertogliatti finishes as second.
Roche is third, Zubeldia leads his minigroup on 4th place.

This stage was a total disaster for us. Rujano crashed, Medina was dropped from peloton in decisive moments, both lost almost 4 minutes...luckily Rujano is ok and ready to fight in tomorrow´s queen stage. |

Have a question. What do you prefer: .png high-quality pictures or .jpg less quality pictures with much shorter downloading time? I have 1Mb connection and it´s terribly slow |

I´m new at this forum. I thing that your story is good, and i wanna follow it.
That are my first questions:
Now, after that bad fall, what are your goals for this races with your two leaders?
Will Rujano look for breakways??Is he going to take risks for growing up in the GC or you prefers to win a stage?
Sorry for my bad english.. |
