Our goal was to end 3rd here, but beforehand we already knew that that would be very difficult. With Baumann (72 SP) being our best sprinter a top 10 spot would be more realistic. Early on there is quite a big break with Campbell in there for Livestrong
The break of today with Cody Campbell somewhat in the back
Bourgas plays it smart, they send a 2nd rider who then decides to go solo with 25 kms to go
Cauquil goes solo with 25 kms to go and a 3 minute gap
But with eight kilometres to go the Frenchman is caught, in the sprint Baumann decides to follow the big ISD train while Phinney follows a different sprint train.
The ISD train crashes and Baumann's chances are gone!
Baumann manages to avoid crashing but does loses speed, in the other train Phinney simply lacks the sprinters legs to keep up. In the end it's Team Type 1 who sneak away with the win here, it isnt teamleader Anthony who wins but his Slovenian companion Ilesic!
Ilesic wins in front of Dyudya and Anthony!

Also in this American classic the sponsors expect us to get something done, however yet again it would be one hell of a task to do well here. Early on we have a sole attacker who tries to get it done on his own
Team Type 1 rider Calabria goes solo
However this attempt from the Aussie would go nowhere, In the sprint Phinney has to get Baumann, but he fails to do this and since the sprint is total chaos both youngsters end up way in the back. Up front Katusha comes up with an impressive train and their leader Mikhailov does what he is expected to do

It's a busy month for us, after dissapointing results at the Lehigh Valley classic and the CSC Invitational race we want to achieve a good result here today at the Reading Classic with Phinney and Baumann being our leaders. Bjorn Selander is the one who went into the break for us today, a group of 11 would be formed.
Mumford and Selander leading the break of 11
With 25 kms to go the gap is still over 3 minutes! And so the riders are starting to get nervous, several riders attack but there is only one rider who gets away, ironically its the rider who didnt cooperate at all troughout the race.
Ian Stannard didn't do any relays, but he does attack!
The remaining riders work hard to get him back but they simply don't have the power to do so, after the last climb only Henderson, Mumford and Selander are left over and later on they are joined by Suarez, Ramirez and Danielson who got away from the pack.
Suarez leads the chasers as they try to get Stannard back
But even with Suarez, Ramirez and Danielson helping they dont get him back, and so Stannard wins. Selander does a great job and still ends 7th while Baumann and Phinney end 9th and 10th.
Ian Stannard takes an impressive win!

The Philadelphia International championship is an important race, we failed fullfilling our first 2 goals, doing well in the CSC Invitational and the Lehigh Classic. Now the sponsors want us to end in the top 10 here in this 1.HC Race, a difficult, but not an impossible task, we try to play the breakaway card and so we send Baumann into the break.
The break of the day, with Baumann and Kristensen up front
The gap grows, 8 minutes, 9, 10, 11....12!! But then it decreases, and suddenly with 60 kms to go it increases to 10 minutes again! It looks like the break could actually make it! And with 20 kilometres to go and a 4.30 minute gap it makes riders nervous. A Japanese riders gets away
Mashushito Nakakura on his way to winning this race?!?
But then, while some of the chasers are closing in and are now only 1 minute behind, Nakakura is caught. Baumann is the 2nd best sprinter after Borrajo but the youngster is tired after 245 kms of riding in the break. And so it seems to come down to who is not the less wasted of all riders.
It's down to Nakakura, Kristensen, Borrajo, Baumann, Bryce and Bergseth
So who has still got some energy left?
It seems to be Borrajo, the best sprinter in the group easily gets away!
Meanwhile the others all desperately try to follow the Argentinian, but they don't even get close, Baumann just manages to end 4th and is wasted...but atleast we completed an objective!
Borrajo is the surprising, but deserved winner of the Philly International Classic!

The Tour of Beauce is a small Canadian stage race in which Phinney will be our sole leader. This first stage is already quite a difficult one in which Phinney could do well if his legs are feeling well. Early on we have a break of 6 with no Livestrong riders in it.
Wamsley and Van Ulden leading the break of 6
The pack comes in action too late, and so when the break starts the final climb they still hold a 2 minute lead. There the break shatters and 2 are left over at the front.
It's down to Borisov and the Dane Kreutzfeldt!
In the pack it's also time for action, Kobzarenko is the first fav to attack and Phinney decides to counter and go after them
Phinney attacking and going after the others
Phinney joins the group of favourites, but he is feeling amazing today and decides to attack yet again on a flat part of the final kms
There goes Phinney yet again!
Up front Borisov has been left behind by Kreutzfeldt, can Phinney still make a miracle happen and take a dramatic win?
Phinney is going fast and has the leaders in his sight!
He catches Borisov but...
He is too late to catch Kreutzfeldt...

Stage 2/7:
After yesterday's hectic stage its time for an easy stage, there arent any breakaways today and so we get a sprint. Phinney is our best sprinter but since he lacks the power he has to be in an excellent position if he wants to do well!
Phinney is positioned just fine, up front he sits in the wheel of Damiani!
And for a moment it seems as if Taylor Phinney may pull of a stunt, if it weren't for the Canadian Andrew Pinfold.
Andrew Pinfold beats Phinney and takes the win!

Today is the stage which will likely decide the final outcome of this race, early on many riders try to get away. But eventually with half of the race to go Tom Zirbel is given the ok and builds up a nice lead.
Tom Zirbel still holds a nice lead when he starts the final climb!
Behind Zirbel a group of favourites is formed, with 5 kilometres to go the situation looks like this
Zirbel still up front but the gap is decreasing!
In the back, Phinney is having difficulties to keep up with the likes of Landis, Sevilla and Kobzarenko.
Phinney, Persson and Sinkewitz are not looking good
And while Zirbel is still up front, it's Landis who wants to go after him himself
Landis attacks, Sevilla and Kobzarenko respond!
Kobzarenko however, has met the man with the hammer and so it's down to Sevilla and Landis who are going after Zirbel. With the finishline in sight Zirbel looks to make it but there come Sevilla and Landis!
Will Tom Zirbel make it or will Sevilla and/or Landis catch him?
Zirbel looks behind and gives it everything he's got, is it enough?
No! Sevilla takes a dramatic win in front of Zirbel and Landis!

With the others in Canada, the 5 remaining riders had been send to Wales and in this Abergavenny criterium our hopes were set on Baumann. The break was already caught with 20 kms to go and the attacks in the final kilometres didn't go anywhere. In the sprint Baumann couldn't surrpise but still did well ending 8th. Up front Bodrogi was looking to surprise but in the end he was caught by one of the sprinters present...

The timetrial which could shake some things up in the GC. Phinney did a fine job ending 8th, 24 seconds slower than Floyd Landis who strengthened his lead. Stage 5/7:
A very short stage in which it seemed impossible for Phinney to gain time on the guys above him in the GC. But even though it seems to come down to a bunchpsprint something happens which shakes up the GC.
Number 4 in the GC, Tom Zirbel, goes down hard!
But there are more victims, one rider even abandons!
It's the number 3 in the GC, Valery Kobzarenko who abandons!
And since Phinney is able to stay on his bike he rises up to the 3rd spot in the GC, up front the sprint is the American Alex Candelario.
