I have a plea... Please please will you change the name of Nikolaos Drakos to some other random greek rider (Not Arvanitou).
He's the biggest greek talent IRL - in quite some years also - and you added him with a POT 1, and absolutely nothing to play with. 50TT. The man is 4 time consequtive TT medalist in Greece NC youth.
I suggested a statline for him to make for a fun rider to develop. If it can't be this year, I would rather wait another year for it to happen. The one added at POT 1 I won't likely even offer a contract to be honest - even if he can max out at 77HI. Horrible FL and backup stats so can't even be trained into something interesting.
So please: Either rename him, delete him, or give him a proper and fun statline. Not necessarily the one suggested, but something worth signing and playing with.
Every once in a while there is a special name in a region that need to be added with something interesting. For my region he's that one.

Ditto for Mikutis. Feel cheated for getting just a good dom (or a good scorer...after investing many millions) when he is the first new Lithuanian rider in like 10 years who's made to PCT in real life.

Pitchie and Nys have 1.15 XP, as new additions they should be at zero?

Also noticed this, but I guess it's because their OVL is pretty high - and hence their RDs in particular in CT pretty low. Guess they did this on purpose to help getting them to lvl3?

Pithie and Nys indeed got it upped a bit to make it more possible for both CT and PCT to bring them to level 3 with limited race days of 61/63.
It`s still not super easy but at least better to do than from 1.00, which was neither totally impossible but would need far more unsuited races and potential calendar struggle. |

Got to say it's a bit unexpected to see the manager of a Greek team complain about the talent additions this year, as I thought (and still think) the batch of Greek and Cypriots was really nice, after also having Greek riders from 2001 that are 78 TT/prol and the other 78/73 or 74 mtn/hill (with 70-ish TT). Except for nations that actually have strong real life riders I don't immediately see a lot of other countries coming close to this in MG, combined with what Greece has this year in the talent db as well. Not only a potential 81 flat beast who can win any flat classic without needing training, but also has potential to go up to 77 TT, but also Drakos as a decent puncheur with 70-ish (or higher) mtn, physicals, spr and acc. And yes, he is potential 1, simply because he also starts higher than many other riders and this also gives him the potential to win an Avenir stage, while still maxing out at a decent level (the same as a pot 4 or 5 rider that simply starts with lower stats?).
A couple of weeks/months ago, you posted this in the suggestion thread.

I have opted for 3 relatively strong greek talents this time. Probably not ideal given that we have relegated, but nevertheless I do think it's about time atleast one greek talent will join that can actually get a top 10 somewhere without massive training. Especially with Vlatos now declining for the 2nd time, and Farantakis not being a viable option due to the sprinting mishaps.
Sorry for the format, I don't have access to a PC at the time, so it's difficult to make it work all that well.
Last Name | First Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | NAT | CON | Panigyrakis | Ioannis | 71 | 68 | 68 | 70 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 59 | 64 | 72 | 64 | 68 | 68 | GRE | EU | Drakos | Nikolas | 70 | 70 | 70 | 67 | 68 | 73 | 67 | 61 | 67 | 70 | 68 | 70 | 72 | GRE | EU | Varotsos | Ioannis | 69 | 69 | 69 | 71 | 68 | 70 | 66 | 64 | 65 | 72 | 70 | 71 | 71 | GRE | EU |
Last Name | First Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | NAT | CON | Panigyrakis | Ioannis | 77 | 69 | 71 | 77 | 71 | 74 | 71 | 59 | 64 | 72 | 68 | 69 | 75 | GRE | EU | Drakos | Nikolas | 73 | 74 | 79 | 68 | 76 | 77 | 71 | 61 | 70 | 78 | 75 | 73 | 73 | GRE | EU | Varotsos | Ioannis | 76 | 70 | 72 | 78 | 73 | 77 | 71 | 64 | 65 | 72 | 75 | 71 | 78 | GRE | EU |
Panigyrakis is born 18th february 1997 so a pretty old rider.
Drakos is born 18th july 2002 and is by far the best greek talent IRL.
Varotsos is born 9th october 2002 and opts for different solutions without ever being a top rider.
So basically three top riders, because even though you have Varotsos 'only' maxing at 70/72/78 mtn/hi/tt he's actually going to 76/74/78. Basically Wirtgen light for somebody who only raced greece national races in his career so far, in addition to the powerhouse you made Drakos in this suggestion and adding Panigyrakis as a very strong rider (also able to max at 75 mtn 77 tt).
First of all, didn't go for the 1997 rider injection because that rider also does nothing irl except for some low tier national races, and clearly there are quite some nice Greeks already in the game, obviously thanks to your presence and training of course as well. But we agreed that when a rider doesn't do anything irl there is no need to add him when his focus nation already gets nice talents and/or has strong riders in the game.
Then looking at the other two suggestions. Since in your post (text and suggestions) it became clear you were looking for both a Vlatos (tt replacement) and somebody who can get a top-10 somewhere without massive training, Varotsos was created (as he was also the guy who you clearly gave more TT stat actually). Either he maxes at 81 flat with a good spr/acc and good physicals to win flat classics with late attacks (or even flat stages), or a 81 flat rider to win flat classics and still have him at 76 tt as a TTT dom, or 80 flat/77tt. Simply a strong rider, outclassing any other rouleur there is this season and immediately imo one of the best three in the game when he's maxed.
Apart from this we also added Drakos with nice stats. At least in our opinion. But in the general picture if we speak about deflating the db and then someone would not want to sign a rider from their focus nation that is well rounded and with 77 in the main stat, sounds weird to me. He really doesn't have horrible fl and back up stats as you claim in your post some days ago?
Sure, you can say he should have better tt based on his multiple Greece TT U23 medals (and nothing else I think?), but then why did you give him the worst TT of the three suggestions you made, if his TT is such a big thing? We looked at your suggestion, where he was a hybrid puncheur in his maxed form, and also keeping in mind the amazingly strong Varotsos made him a nice, but not unrealistically strong, rider. He indeed rides for North Macedonian CT Novapor Speedbike Team irl, so I hope he gets a nice irl career out of it as well, and well rounded hybrid puncheur stats should do him justice. In addition to those two, there was also an okay Cypriot mountain dom added. Not the most amazing rider obviously, but another regional fit that could be interesting to sign as a regional team of course
Long story short, in MG there indeed will be stronger riders than in real life for long term managers with a specific focus nation, and countries like Greece, Cyprus and Lithuania have definitely been taken care of in that regard in the last seasons as well as this one, and this will continue to be the case. Even including top-5/3 riders in their terrain, such as Varotsos, Kmieliauskas, etc.
Cheers

Sorry about having missed this. But in all fairness I think you have missed the point.
Talking about Drakos he is for me the one and only greek talent. If I'm not mistaken he maxes with 66FL, 72MO, 77HI, 50TT, 69STA, 72RES, 68REC, 63COB, 68SPR, 75ACC, 82FIG, 64DH, 52PRL... This is a rider that is a decent domestique, but he cannot be trained. His FL and physical package is WAY too low to make him anything useful what so ever.
There are already 3 greek domestique puncheurs better than him - and he IS the biggest talent in Greece by quite some margin.
Like said - I'm OK with him not being added this year, if it is too much to ask for 2 good'ish riders in one year. Then I'd much rather wait to add him next season.
And if it's annoying then he could be named something else.
This guy is my Herklotz. The one rider I want to build the future on - and with these stats - I can't! That is basically what I asked for. Either:
1) Wait and add him better next season
2) Change his name
3) Change his stats
I really don't think that is unreasonable. I can give you a different name, birthdate etc. and then it's no big deal. Then I can just decide not to sign him. But I want Drakos in my team being a greek team.
Varotsos is a very nice rider. No complaints what so ever. He's more of a roulleur that I suggested, but that is fine. He's a solid rider and he can actually get a stagewin as you say even though I do think you are stretching it to make him seem like a world class rider. He isn't. But he can move in different directions, and can be trained into a winner.
When I asked for a rider that could win something without training (just to get that one also). I have been having a greek focus for quite some years - and now I'm solely greek/cypriot. When I decided to go for greek riders I signed Tzortzakis 82SPR and Vlatos 81TT. These are still - without a doubt - the best ever greek riders to have been added - and they didn't do anything IRL, and was added when there was absolutely no greek interest from anyone.
I have gotten A LOT of riders with 75-78 key stat, which is great as I can atleast train them into something useful. But besides Farantakis I haven't once gotten an 79 key stat rider with winning off the bat-potential. I can point at several other riders without any noteable real life results that has been added in the same period of time with significantly better stats that any greek rider have gotten:
Joseph Areruya
Caio Godoy
Fredrik Strand Galta
Orluis Aular (Sprinter)
Chen Shikai
Suranga Ranaweera
Ki Ho Choi
Kevin Inkelaar
Kyeng Ho Min
I know some of these have also been trained better, but all were added better than the best ever greek climbing talent (Giannoutsos). These are just from the pool of climbers. Same goes for cobblers, puncheurs and timetriallists (even though we have gotten a fair share of decent timetriallists and a 77COB rider - Not one that can win anything or get a top 10 in a normal selection though).
But - The first part was my main question. Can he please change his name. Or wait for next season to be added - better?

So now I repeat, GREEK riders. There is exactly one greek team, you! And i didnt add the riders of cyprus.
Honestly I dont see any problem here, they are ALL way above their real life capabilities. So I am sure there isnt a problem with not enough talent for your focus region.
So about the new additions. With just quickly looking into it and do a simple levelling path. We have one that max out at 77 Hills, one that max out at 77 TT with 77 PRL and 80 Flat with decent substats. The third is an Mountain dom most likely with 75 mountain and a lot of 70+ substats. I dont see any problem for your future here.
Comparing your rider to the ones you listed isnt really useful also because they are all from different nationalities and regions. So expecting you get all of them for your region (and again it's basically just your personal focus region) is a bit much, isnt it?
I am only like 2 years and understood already that there is a reason why there isnt any Herklotz situations anymore. And the goal off adding talent is to prevent the inflation of the riders and database. I can guarantee you, especially Nemo, thought a lot about all factors when adding talent and there is a reason why the talent is added like this. And compared to the years before it was to make sure every rider is signable and I am sure this is what we reached. Signable doesnt mean every one is a future champion but thats how cycling works. There are a lot more riders who never won something and still are very important.
Now my personal opinion:
If i ever read GENERATIONAL talent for any random rider again I probably will throw my computer out of a window! Personally, i think the complains are mostly about that it's just not liked that the riders a certain rider type. Looks like Puncheurs especially are hated nowadays
And the GENERATIONAL talent Drakos, I know already what will happen when we change him to something you like. Next year you will demand even higher stats for this 2003 born greek who delivered just better results than Drakos. He will be then the new GENERATIONAL talent.
We dont get what we want and maybe what some riders deserve. When I look at germans, some just late bloomers ( i look at you Lipowitz and Steinhauser )so we do our best to bring the ridersd and database in a good balance.
On a sidenote:
About Mikutis, he maxes out at 71 Stamina. Now please look at the Suggestion which was made for him. Overall he is a bit weaker but not compared to the Stamina.
