Team Maxbo Bianchi - An adventure comes through.
ember
As you can see of the first picture, Valverde is 69 in fitness. As I also said, Valverde was not captain. Valverde had no one that protected him, actually when he and Konovalovas was in the chase group together, he had to protect Konovalovas because he Konovalovas was captainSmile. Then, he dropped back to the peloton, because he had done a great job for Konovalovas, and wasn't able to do anymore.

alexkr00
Ok, but that doesn't affect Valverde's morale?

La Fleche Wallone and its Muur was on the program this Wednesday. Konovalovas was very keen on making a good result here, and the conditions were there, all was up to himself.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0012-4.jpg

Again, he got Valverde and Pliuschin as his two super domestiques.

There were a break, but they wouldn't make it today neither.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0013-3.jpg

With 60 kilometres to go, Morabito, the winner of the polkadot in Paris-Nice, launched an surprising attack. He was followed by Vansummeren and Sprick, but they were soon caught again.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0014-4.jpg

It was Rebellin who started the real fireworks with 45 kilometres to go, as he launched a strong attack.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0017-4.jpg

But he got caught, and Sanchez immediately countered. Both Valverde and Konovalovas tried to follow. All the others hot favourites followed too.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0018-4.jpg

Konovalovas managed to get in the elitegroup. It was he, F. Schleck, Schumacher (C.A), Horner (DSC) and Cunego.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0019-5.jpg

But right before the Muur, they were caught of Sanchez and Ricco. Under the 1km banner, it was so close, would Konovalovas take a sensational win?

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0020-3.jpg

No, he wouldn't, but he took a great third. Sanchez won, in front of Ricco. Great work from Konovalovas!!

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/liege-2008-logo_e_5eff61537d31321a5.jpg

The most traditional classic of the spring was on the program. From Liege to Bastogne and back to Liege. Konovalovas got Valverde and Pliuschin again as super domestiques.
(Forgot to take screenshot of the my 8 riders.)

There was one rider that was on a suicidetask today. Van den Broeck was lonely out there in front.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0022-3.jpg

Rebellin started, as in Fleche Wallone, the real attacks with an attack with 57 kilometres to go.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0023-3.jpg

This time I sended Valverde to mark him, and it become a very dangerous attack as F. Schleck, Bettini, Cunego, Grivko, Kirchen, Ricco and Nibali followed. They made a big group, a great group where all of them could win.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0024-3.jpg
(Monfort is up front as he attacked a little earlier on, but he was soon caught.)

Konovalovas seemed to be trapped, but luckily the distance up to the 10 in front was stable around 1-1,20. He had no opportunities, but attack if he wanted the win. He attacked with 38 km to go, on the very steep Cote de Wanne.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0025-4.jpg

He was followed of even more elite riders, and he reached the front group. But at the same moment as Konovalovas attacked in the peloton, Ricco attacked up front and got a small gap.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0026-3.jpg

But he was soon back in the group which consistet of Cunego, Ricco, Schleck, Nibali, Bettini, Grivko, Konovalovas, Kirchen and Schumacher. Valverde had cracked because he had worked his ass off for Konovalovas.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0027-2.jpg

It was texas up front in the lead group, and they all tried to attack at once it was a flat or hill. But it always come together. But on the Saint Nicholas climb Ricco attacked powerfully. But he was chased down, but then Nibali attacked.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0028-1.jpgi442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0029.jpg

Nibali's attack was very strong and he soon got a gap of half a minute. But then, Schumacher (C.A) paced the chase group so hard that they catched Nibali! The chase group was also reduced to 4 thanks to Schumacher. Konovalovas was in a great position as they caught Nibali, on Schumacher's wheel. But Schumacher decided to attack with 2.6 km to go, Konovalovas didn't have the power to follow. Instead, he ate an energy bar, and prepared himself for the sprint.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0030-1.jpg

Schumacher was too strong and won Liege-Bastogne-Liege 2008.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0033-2.jpg

Konovalovas cracked on the last few metres, but still he grabbed a fantastic second place!!

Thanks, there will be a very short report of the RomandiePfftand hopefully I can start to post the Giro tonightSmile

When I am trying to upload my screenshots to photobucket, it just says like this:

Attention You can't upload zero bytes files.

What does that mean, what do I need to do to upload the pictures?

I can't upload my pictures from the Romandie, it's weird, but photobucket just says it is "zero bytes files." I am sorry.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/logo_giro08.jpg

The 91st Giro d'Italia was going to start with a prologue at Palermo. Pliuschin was sended as leader, no doubts about that. He doesn't have a very strong team for help, but we'll see what we can do.

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0038-2.jpg

Already on the opening prologue Pliuschin showed he will be dangerous this year. He was feeling very good, fitness of 96 and daily form of +3. He smashed Gutierrez time with 19 seconds!!

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0042.jpg
Pliuschin on his way to maglia rosaSmile

He took a great prologue victory and gained a lot of time on the his rivals. He gained 46 seconds on Cunego f. example.

Malori did the day fantastic when he took the last podium, and even better; we also had Phinney and Zabriskie in the top 10. A great start!

i442.photobucket.com/albums/qq146/emberland_2008/PCM0043.jpg

Just to show our young talented team, we had 4 of top 5 in the youth classification. Wonder how long that will be....
