There's some friction between AFLD and UCI about who will be in charge of the controls during the next TDF.
UCI wants to decide which riders will be controlled, then notify the riders if needed (wanted ?), whereas AFLD would be in charge of the technical aspect only (getting and testing samples).
On the other hand, AFLD wants to do both things, which means, like this year, targeting the riders, testing, warning them, then notify them if needed.
They're also wondering how it comes that those riders they caught passed through UCI blood passport without problem and got caught as soon as they were controlled by them.

Did't McQuaid say that the passport would start generating positives by Feburary and that Kohl was already on theirsuspicious list because of the passport? |

I tried some things with openrunner and I think I found for more than 90% the route of the first stage, Monaco - Brignoles. The map is for later, but this is the profile of the stage.

I suppose that the mountains aren't as dramatic as they are on that map? If they are, it could just as well be categorized as a mountain stage |

Its important to look at the relative height Crue. A peak elevation of 280m isnt really that high

I'd say Gilbert could make a move, on the last hill.

lol, that last hill is pure power climbing. It will be a bunchsprint no doubt! Judging from the profile, the last 10km before the peak of that final hill, the road is rising 0.1% Maybe in the final kilomteter of the hill we reach an average of 1%! |

It hits 7% in points so there may well be space for someone to get away a hold on down the hill |

7% for 100m, or even 300m, won't do anything. Even Cavendish can power himself over that bump. |
