Swedish Championships

I have prepared for this for a long time, and I think I can do well here.
But everything went wrong this day, I finished last. Thomas Lovkvist, Team HighRoad, won the race.
I was so dissapointed at myself after the race. After the race in Ireland everything goes wrong for me. My next race is maybe Blackpool GP, but after this I think that Bradley isn't going to pick me for that race.

Today Bradley called me and he said that he had bad news for me.
"I'm sorry but I didn't pick you for the Blackpool team. But if you work hard in training and in some small races I probably will pick you for Tour Of Ireland. So just show me that I did wrong now", he said.
"Ok.." was everything I could answer.
"See you tomorrow", Bradley finished the conversation.
"Bye", I said.

15th of July

The last 14 days have been boring, I have just trained. But Bradley is liking that I'm giving everything in every training. So hopefully I will participate in Tour Of Ireland next month. The team raced Blackpool GP last night and Dean Downing finished 14th after a sprint finish. An ok result. Soon it's time for the British Championships who is important for the team and the sponsors. I will follow with the team to Beverley and support them there.

I have heard rumours that Rapha is already preparing for next year. 2 riders is already signed and 4 others are on their way into the team. But rumours is always rumours.

If he is going to ride Tour of Ireland I think stage 4 will suit him very well.

Good luck Smile

I am sorry if you already have told it, (I can't remember it, and I am not having time to read it all again) but will there be pictures from the races?

British Championships

The trip to Beverley was ok. I trained alone a lot, but it was fun to watch the team when they was racing. But the results could have been better. Luke Rowe did it best for Rapha Condor in the TT. He finished 7th. In the RR Graham Briggs was the best placed Rapha Condor rider, he also finished 7th.

I think that I will be a part of the Tour of Ireland team, because right now we have 3 injuries and maybe I'm the rider who is in best shape right now. So hopefully Bradley will pick me.

Tour Of Pendle

i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOP.png
Tour of Pendle is a one day race in Britain, 162 km, totally flat. I'm here to support Ben Greenwood, and as preparation for Tour of Ireland. I hope..

Luke Rowe, tried an attack early on, but he was caught by the pack pretty fast. Then we decided to just work for our leaders today, Ben Greenwood and Simon Holt.
i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOPMe.png
Me helping Greenwood.

As expected the race finished with a mass sprint. I had worked all day for Greenwood and now it was great to just relax the last part of the race.
Ben and Simon was in great position when the sprint started and when it was just about 1 km left, Ben were 2nd and Simon 3rd. But Maaskant of Slipstream and Van Heerden of Team MTN was to tough to beat.

Maaskant celebrating his win.

Simon and Ben took a 3-4 and that's a great result for our team. I was so happy that I was included in this result. Fantastic, I had helped Ben to a 4th place!

Today Bradley called me and he said he were having great news.
"Alex, I want to tell you that you will be a part of the Tour of Ireland team. After your great work for Ben 5 days ago I just couldn't hold you out of the team who is travelling to Ireland", he said.
"Thanks Bradley, this means a lot to me", I answered.
"Bye Alex"
"Bye Bradey"

This was fantastic, now I'm going to travel to France for a 4 days long stage race, Tour du Limousin. A preparing race where I'm going to work for our leader. Probably Ben Greenwood.

Stage 1

Todays stage is pretty hilly. I was feeling great so I tried an early attack. But after a intermediate sprint I couldn't keep up with the rest of the attackers. So I was caught with 80 km left of the stage and then I tried to help Ben Greenwood. But I was to tired in my legs to help him. I fell of the pack.

At the last hill, just 10 km before the finish, Patrice Halgand attacked. Ben tried to counter. Halgand stopped attacking after the KOM sprint but Ben just kept going and he had a gap just before the sprint started. But the Estonian, Rene Mandri was closing the gap fast. Ben was tired but he held on to take the stage and the yellow jersey, amazing!

The whole team was really excited over Bens win. Now we have to work hard for him at the front tomorrow, and I think everybody in the team is willing to do that. They count on me anyway.

Just after I crossed the finish line a man came up to me and said:
"Sorry but you finished outside the time limit."
"What?," I almost screamed.
"Yes, I'm sorry, but rules is rules."

I was so dissapointed, I just wanted to scream. This means that I can't participate in the last 3 stages here.

Bradley walked to me and said:
"I'm sorry, I should told you that you were close to the time limit. But I was so excited about what happened in front."
"It's not your fault, it's my fault and I can't blame anyone." I answered.

Tour Of Ireland

i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOIP.png

Tour of Ireland is Irelands biggest stage race. It has got 5 stages, and it will probably be a hilly rider or a sprinter who will win this year. I'm really excited to being a part of this. Ben Greenwood will be our leader in this race and the sponsors wants us to finish top 10. So I will have to work hard for Ben. I can announce that this will be my last race this year. This season has been great, I'm now a part of the pro cycling.
I have also developed into a pretty nice rider, next year I want to pick up some more experience and develope even more. Hopefully I can fight for a win next year, but I can't count on that.

Now I'm just waiting for the start of Tour of Ireland, my first big race. Tomorrow is the big day, and time for stage 1. We will start in Kilkenny and then ride 159 km to Cork. The stage will probably end up in mass sprint finish. Simon Holt is our only hope there, but we don't count on anything from him.

Tour of Ireland

Stage 1

Team:
Ben Greenwood - Leader
Simon Holt - Sprinter
Kristian House
Ryan Bonser
Rhys Lloyd
Luke Rowe
Alex Petersson

My job today was to protect Ben as long as possible. I was feeling ok and that was a good sign after my long season.
i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOI1Me.png
Ben isolated.

Todays break were caught with 40 km left, and 20 km after that I had to give up helping Ben. I was so tired.
i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOI1Me1.png
Me, dropping off the pack.

Ben was the only Rapha Condor rider left in the peleton now. Everybody else had fall off.

In the sprint Slipstream proved to be to strong for everybody else. Tyler Farrar won the stage.
i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOI1Farrar.png
Tyler celebrating.

Max Richeze finished 2nd and Edvald Boasson Hagen took the 3rd place. I finished 117th, 3,37 after Farrar.

Stage 2

i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOI2.png

The whole team worked for Ben today. I gave everything I had because I knew that this was going to be my last race this season.
Max Richeze won the stage ahead of Lucas Haedo and Coen Vermeltfoort.

Richeze is now leading the GC too.

Stage 3

i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/G_Larsson/TOI3.png

We used the same tactic as yesterday, protect Ben as long as possible. It's great to help Ben because he is so kind and he really appreciate the work we are doing for him. The moral in the team is absolutely great, everybody is happy and no one complains about their role in the team.
In the sprint Chris Sutton were to strong for everybody else. Hagen finished 2nd and Richeze ended 3rd.

But who is that behind Hagen? It's Ben Greenwood! Fantastic!
