Stage 3 was a great opportunity for us to try to pick up even more points for Fairly and the King of The Mountain Competition. As soon as the stage started people were already attacking but we decided to hold off Fairly because it was a little too early for it to even last. Sure enough the break was caught 10 kilometers later. We sent Fairly in the next group that attacked.
Fairly was one of the strongest and had to slow down so that everyone else could catch up. The group came together and formed a large group of about 15.
The group could not work together and it was scattered into 4 or 5 smaller groups and it was Klier who in the lead for most of the race. Klier had a determined look on his face.
The break was caught a long way from the finish and they were all dropped as the pelotons speed was very high. In the sprint Holloway looked strong but he was no way going to be able to beat the best sprinters and settled for a top ten. It was Bennati who was the strongest as he will gain even more time as the leader.

Nice start.
I like battle of the minor teams - even a KoM jersey or a top10 is a good result.
Keep up the good work. |
