3 months done and its time for our team review. We haven't yet competed in a race designated by our sponsors as either a key race or a season goal, but we have 7 victories in total (6 by Hunter, 1 by Cooke), are ranked 2nd in the Continental Tour standings behind Di Luca's LPR-Ballan team, and our sponsor confidence is "Excellent".
Our team stars are really only starting to build on their fitness now. The 3 week break from racing Hunter and Gasparotto enjoyed in March means we'll have to start building up their fitness again to be ready for their season goals. Soler and Pfannberger are reaching fitness levels that will allow them to compete in upcoming tours; Soler will head for the Giro and Pfannberger will participate in minor stage races before both head for the Tour. The original plan for the Giro was for Cooke to be our lone sprinter but his indifferent form so far has led to a rethink. Gasparotto will join the team for his home tour, something he's delighted about.
Our finances are steady. We expect to win much more prize money later in the season so although we are down 45% from our original balance for the year with nearly a third of the season gone, we aren't making contingency plans just yet.

The decision to switch Gasparotto to the Giro d'Italia means he needs to get fitter sooner and his current form, or lack of as represented by his recent results, means he needs this training schedule changed.
In consultation with his trainer Lamborelle, we have switched his training from this...

Its the "Hell of the North". 269km long and possesses cobbles that shake riders to the bone. Only the strongest end up first at the Roubaix velodrome. We've sent Gasparotto, Hunter and Cooke to challenge and we would be very happy with a top 20 finish, although they haven't prepared specifically for this race.
The peleton hits the first cobbles sections and its Rabobank and Team Columbia up front.
Still over 115km to go and Cooke is going the best of our main trio.
Cooke is at the back of a lead group of 37 riders as the cobbles take their toll. Hunter and Gasparotto are left behind.
The main contenders are pulling away now as perennial Roubaix favourite George Hincapie leads the field.
13km left and Team Columbia are well positioned. Burghardt watches as his teammate Hincapie attacks. Will this finally be George's year?
Only 6km left and Leif Hoste, another nearly-man, fights with Burghardt to catch Hincapie. Flecha, behind, can't match them. All of our riders are just fighting to finish now.
Hoste enters the velodrome first and has gapped Hincapie!
Hoste takes a famous win for Belgium as 2007 victor O'Grady sprints past Hincapie for 2nd.
We just didn't have the class or conditioning to go with the big guns this year, but hopefully we will be back next year to try again.

The Giro del Trentino is a 4 day stage race with a heavy emphasis on climbing. Its a category 2.1 tour, and represents a prefect race for Soler and Gasparotto to prepare for the Giro.
At the peak of the first climb, a group of 4 have a lead of 6' 30" over the peleton.
The pack cross a river as the mountainous terrain threatens more climbing in store.
At Calvano, 56km from the finish, the breakaway leads by around 3' 50".
7km to go and the escapees have been swallowed up. Simoni attacks and Soler is right on his tail.
Simoni stills leads, but Gadret has caught him and has got into his slipstream. Further behind Gasparotto and Soler attempt to catch up.
Gadret takes the win from Simoni. The peleton was closing right in at the end so our riders don't gain any time.

Stage 2, and the climbing begins. Soler will look to help from his lieutenants to help him take this stage.
45km to go and there's a attack by a couple of dangerous riders, Pérez Cuarpo and Pidgornny, both of whom can climb well.
The peleton however reels them back in, and Carrara immediately counter-attacks.
The road narrows as it goes uphill. We've sent our domestiques to drive the pack. Gadret is still in the peleton so Soler takes the opportunity to break away.
Gadret skillfully manages the situation and joins up with Soler and Salvodelli with 5km to go.
Bellotti is doing an immense job at the front of the peleton and has dragged them up on his own to the attackers. In fact, he's still feeling good, and we take a chance and let him attack after Pozzovivo and Garzelli charge forward.
Gadret is in scintillating form and takes his 2nd stage win to extend his overall lead. Garzelli comes 2nd but a terrific performance from Bellotti lets him grab 3rd and he even have got a time gap to the bunch.
Bellotti does indeed get the gap and we have 2 riders in the top 10. Bellotti's strength today surprised me and today's performance has guaranteed him a Giro start. Well done son!

We stay in the mountains for day 3, but the final 34km of the 176km stage is all downhill. Bellotti won't have to work on the front today and we'll try to get him and Soler to shake things up.
At the top of the Passo Campo Cro Magno, Kairelis pushes ahead of a small escape group.
We're on the final climb, the Passo di Capovalle, and Gadret has to counter the attack from most of the other contenders. There's still another 4.6km of climbing to do and its steep, so we stay sitting in the peleton and order Chuela to work at the front.
Chuela does a fine job and brings to within distance of the yellow jersey group.
Ahead, Sella takes the KOM points and gets ready for the long descent.
The final 10km and its Soler and Bellotti trying to bridge up to the leading group. It looks like they are getting there too!
As soon as we join up however, Noé attacks and only Aerts can go with him.
Noé outbattles Aerts to the line and they have a gap back to the rest. The peleton worked hard on the descent and look like they've got close enough to them to earn the same time.
Noé and Aerts move up to 2nd and 3rd overall, shunting Bellotti back a couple of places.

The final day and although we don't see any chance of overall victory, if Bellotti could sneak into a podium position it would be a huge bonus. There is a climb at the end that has to be place to try an attack.
Like we planned, we attack at the final hill. Except everyone else has the same idea!
Soon after, the yellow jersey counters, so Soler and Gasparotto have to give chase.
15km out and Gasparotto can see Bellotti in his sights, with a similar gap back to Soler behind him.
However our riders start to run out of steam and its left to Landaluze, Garzelli and the following Simoni to battle for the stage win.
Soler is back in the pack alongside the yellow jersey. Garzelli was only 43" down on Gadret starting this morning. It looks like he could take the overall win.
The final kilometre sees Garzelli and Landaluze neck-and-neck.
They can be barely separated at the line but Landaluze just takes it.
They finish a minute clear of Gadret so Garzelli takes the GC win. Bellotti has had a fine race to finish 8th overall.

A German semi-classic, if there is such a thing, and a tricky 191km course. Pfannberger, Gasparotto and Soler will compete; the latter two to sharpen up for Italy.
A 1-2 for Team CSC-Saxo Bank. The sponsors should be happy with that!
