I've just played my first Grand Tour, Giro d'Italia with CSC in a career, and I have to say the new gameplay is awesome. Close mountain stages with a lot of action, breakaways going away on the stage after a a mountain stage, nice sprint finishes and realistic results
Oh, and it went quite well I think considering who my leader was
not to take away from the achievement, but that's a pathetic Giro field. My giro had a much stronger field

I've been thinking about breakaways a little. Could it be that they've improved the AI to a degree where the overall situation has a huge impact on whether the break succeeds or not?
What i mean is, smaller stageraces and oneday races. Breakaways wont make it that often because in a small stagerace a lead, if only a slender one, can often be defended. So it's more dangerous to let a break ride home. In oneday races it's the only thing there is to ride for, the stagewin, therefore they wont let them go too far.
In the GTs, later in them that is, the break seem to make it a lot more. Which is fairly realistic i think. I'm not saying it's perfect, but i don't think it's as bad as we first assumed either.
That's what I've been thinking and I dearly hope that's the case.
I've seen a break make it in the flat final stage of the tirreno, just because it was a break of GC no-hopers.
