the 512 RAM seems to be the perfect RAM. I dont have a clue why but quite a few people with 512 RAM have the game working perfectly. Im baffled
I guess I'll chop the block in half then
seriously, though, I've been running some tests using freeRam, and what happens is that it's running fine (a lot of RAM usage, but still acceptable), and suddenly, in the space of half a second, the RAM usage shoots up to 100% and the game crashes.
always after about 3/4 of the stage.
weird

what sort of stage. There maybe more RAM usage on a mountain stage. Have you tried TT?

well my computer's crap
Pentium 4 CPU 2.93GHz
446MB RAM
don't have a graphics card, well apart the one that came with the computer called 'SiS 661FX Rev 01' (which sounds crap)
but i can play on full graphics and have never had a crash since i bought my first PCM which was PCM2005
and the graphics aren't awful either, so i never understand why people get so many crashes, hopefully that will stay the same when the game finally comes to the UK |

yes, TT works fine. it seems to have nothing to do with if it's a mountain stage or not (even though Qatar works fine...). for instance, it always crashes on stage1 of the tour down under (PPDB07. that's stage 2 if you use another DB)
by the way, Thomas, we're kind of discussing the same kind of crash, but with PCM06. I know, weird.

here's something interesting:
for the first time since I've had the game (11 months), I tried windowed mode. it worked!
I finished the stage and it didn't crash...

If you get the "Installation of .Net Framework 2.0 failed" error message during the PCM2007 installation, please check that your Windows XP version is up-to-date.
1. Right mouse click on My Computer and click Properties.
2. Check if Service Pack 2 is displayed in the Windows XP version.
3. If the Microsoft Service Pack 2 is not installed, please use Windows Update to download it and update Windows XP.
4. Once the Service Pack 2 installed, please install PCM2007. |

Yes. But why can't you put the patch on a USB-stick or burn it on a CD-ROM? That way you have the better computer available... |
