Does this mean Ferrari won't give a seat in Sauber for a 'protegé' in 2019? Considering Ericsson's got the money and since he's got quite a handful of point scoring finishes this year, Sauber might feel reluctant on sending him away. Would be a pity, because I'm still hoping for Giovinazzi's full season debut on F1, and it is becoming "late" for him. |

My expectation was Ericsson + Giovinazzi, but i doubt the Italian will get a chance. Ericsson brings too much in sponsorship, unless Ferrari are going all out to make Sauber the Ferrari-B team with serious financial benefits and engine discounts.
Still waiting on Haas who could take Giovinazzi for the Ferrari engines, but doesn't seem likely.

FOM has put the full 2008 Brazil race on the F1 youtube channel, and it's the very good ITV/UK broadcast. Really cool to re-watch a fantastic season finale. And i'm not one to complain about the modern F1 noise, i like it, but the V8's at 19k rpm sound awesome! And Sao Paolo makes for great track, and a sprinkle of rain makes every race better.
Hopefully they'll start putting up a few more old races in full (like Indy Car does), there's a lot i'd be really interested to see again.

Bourdais, I had forgotten he had raced in F1. 
But that race was amazing, one of the most epic finales I've ever witnessed. Still sorry for Massa, though. His championship would have come in the likes of Jenson Button's - a great driver, but not the greatest of his generation, but a gift for all he gave to the sport. |

KUBICAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! He's back! Williams taking him on and, not surprisingly, dumping Sirotkin. I doubt he'll be his old self, but he's clearly a step up from the god awful Russian, and will be an excellent mentor and partner to Russel.

Just to see him back on a racing seat is fantastic. Definitely adding the experience Williams needs, though of course I don’t expect much from him next year in terms of results, but I’ll be rooting for Kubica.
Now, has Stroll been oficially announced as Checo’s partner for 2019 or are we all assuming Papa Stroll’s investment on Force India is confirmation enough? |

I genuinely don't understand the support for Sirotkin, beyond "he's a nice guy". He's not the only nice guy in F1.
The good - He's got an 11-8 record in Quali against Stroll (who we all admit is also not that good). But it's a gap of 0.067s, the smallest gap on the entire grid for Quali differences.
The bad - Him and Stroll are tied 10-10 on race results but of course Stroll has 6pts, Sirotkin has 1.
Be a nice guy, sure. But without results you'll never get anywhere. Palmer was a nice guy. Di Resta was a nice guy. Ericsson is a nice guy. Hartley is a nice guy. Vandoorne is a nice guy. And some of those even got good results!
Good bye Sirotkin. You won't be missed. But i hope he gets something of a chance again to come back in a nother series because he has shown some talent in the lower levels.

Yes it's confirmed from what I've read. Think I saw Ocon posting about the same on his Twitter handle too. He was gracious about it, good on him. But it's definitely harsh on Ocon.

Alex Albon fills the Torro Rosso seat alongside Kvyat. The Thai/Brit finished the F2 season in third, just behind Lando Norris and George Russell. Was 10th in F2 in 2017, 2nd in GP3 in 2016. Was previously part of the Red Bull dev programme. Had agreeed a Formula E drive with Nissan e.dams but that's no longer vaild.
Decent pick up for Red Bull. Not expecting him to set the world alight in the way Verstappen or Leclerc did, but some very secure potential there to develop.
This means we're just waiting on the official confirmation of Lance Stroll to Force India (and the official confirmation of whatever Force India will call itself next season).
But with 1st, 2nd and 3rd from this seasons F2 that's a fun side point to next season, which of the trio will be best in F1 (depends how much Williams get the car sorted if Russell will be a facotr there but the Mclaren and TR were not too far apart this year).
A return for Kvyatt and Kubica, are they still fast? Can Giovinazzi make use of his long overdue full time seat? Can Gasly match Verstappen? Can Leclerc finally make Vettel completely go insane?
There's a lot of interesting sorties shaping up for 2019.
