About the stage 1 sprint, in my old Rabobank game, I had Freire (72 Fitness) pull out of the pack and win the stage by 42 sec. during the mass sprint. It was ridiculous that sprinting over the last 3 kilometers he was able to actually get a lead on the pack at all, let alone of that size (it may have been a glitch). That is a awesome sprint in both the game and real life. |

The stage 1 depart has been delayed due to gusty wind and rain conditions. The riders are moving by their teams' buses to Sancerre, 74 km to the finish in Nevers, where the race will leave at 14.30. If we're starting the race this way, it's very unlikely the Mont-Ventoux will be climbed on Thursday.

Hopefully Millar will win the race. I want Slipstream to represent.

Hopefully this won't be like the 2006 Tirreno where the snow cancelled the best stage. But it seems likely. That would open up the race considerably. Basically winning the overall would be much more a question of luck than usual.
Not that this type of thing is unusual at Paris-Nice. Quite the contrary

The Top of Ventoux is 1900m above sea level. So even if you have 20 degrees in the "valley", it's still around 5 degrees on the summit, add the usual wind and you get a pretty cold stage finish. ^^ |

As long as it's not cancelled, fine by me
EDIT: also, they're not climbing to the top. this isn't the usual climb of the Ventoux. And it's up the less windy slope, where there actually is vegetation

It's raining over here. When it rains here, chances are the weather in the rest of europe isn't very good. I don't see it changing that dramatically unfortunately

Paris is 600 km further East, so they usually get our weather about one day later than us. The weather is absolutely horrific here 'and we do are used to bad weather), very stormy, cold, pouring rain every five minutes, etc.
I wouldn't sit on my bike with such a weather, even for money.
If they get the same thing today or tomorrow, they may as well cancel the stages. |

With the weather we have in Denmark today (lots of great sun) it's likely |

The Eurosport anouncer just made my day...
"Gilbert wasn't great last season... The best I remember him doing was getting caught 100m from the finish in one of the Milan-San Remo stages"
Evans is really going for the win this year... The whole team came back to help him after the crash...

Eisel, Terpstra, Velits in front - 2-3 minutes to the peloton which is splitted to atoms because of tailwind. Hushovd is still there, but in total, there's only like 30-40 riders left in the peloton |
