Looking forward to Omloop - Quickstep usually take it a bit easy on the first set of classics. Don't know about this year though, it is the missing one from Boonan's set.
Cannot believe Wiggins is anywhere near to prime form for these yet.
Thinking a Lotto rider may surprise?
I bet on Vanmarcke for the win and Stybar for a top 3. LottoNL doesn't have much to look forward to this year, unless one of a few riders finally reaches his potential or totally surprises, so I think they might target the likes of Omloop for results. As for Stybar, as you said Quickstep generally doesn't target the race, so I was thinking Stybar might be able to really ride for himself (whereas he'll probably be a bit more under team orders for RvV and PR). |

Latest news is that both Roelandts and Greipel are sick and not starting. So Debusschere and Dehaes have to do it this weekend, not sure how far they cna get.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Do you think Tim Wellens may ride some flemish classics this or in the coming years, eventually maybe even targeting them? He did pretty great at Eneco Tour (Geraadsbergen) after all.

I think it will depend on him, he's an allrounder at the moment. Great puncheur, decent climber and time trialer, not slow in the sprint and can take cobbles. I'd say puncheur would be best for him, but he want to be a stage racer as well. Either way, I think it pretty much rules him ut for the cobbles.

He's really multi-talented and I'd like to see that being used to become a monument-hunter. Obviously dreaming big now. Puncheur/Stage Racer seems the more likely combo at this stage though I agree.

Wellens is an obvious puncheur. The guy has the potential to win LBL and Giro di Lombardia, fuck the guys who only thin about the Tour and who want him to fight for a 6th place in the GC. |

Yeah so much for Quickstep not taking this seriously.
Still encouraged to see Vanmarke and Stannard looking good at least some challenge to QS vs Cancellara dominance.

I'd laugh so much if Stannard wins this race again, especially against three Etixx riders.

He doesn't need to, Quickstep will mess it up and he has to sprint against Vandenbergh.
How's GVA doing? I've only just tuned in.

Lol no chance of that with 3vs1 riders. Stannard barely survived the Molenberg too.
He's in the 2nd group with Vanmarcke and Styby. |
