This really sucks for Bonsucro. Nicacio would have had good chances to top 5 here, which would be a nice amount of points for a CT team.
Now they are pretty much forced to hope for breakaway success to somehow get a profitable race here.
And again Thorsen... |

This cannot be true, this cannot be true, this cannot be true ....
Thorsen with another win
It's a complete desaster for Bonsucro. Horrible luck. What's left to say now? Go Txurruka!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

$1 million dollars to anyone that predicted Thorsen would win two stages and be wearing the yellow jersey through the first three stages.

Right, so Thorsen has won two stages.
The way this can get more ridicoulous is him hanging in the hilly stages. |

Top 10 from Ewan! He's moving in the right direction. Also nice to see Fritsch getting into the breakaway for a period. Its all positive progress

Unlucky for Bonsucro, over to Txurruka who still might be good enough for a top 10 on GC? Word around the bunch is that Nicacio has suffered a family bereavement, if correct, sure we can all extend sympathies.
Another stunning victory for Thorsen; his agents e-mail inbox is starting to tick over with contract enquiries.

I did!
And i'm sorry, Rider. This is horrible and truly bad bad luck. A shame to see it happening. Hoping for your team to bounce back now!

Nicacio hope Manarelli wins the next flat stage to make things slightly better for Bonsucro.
Thorsen look on the brightside eveeyone else, he'll be out of the time limit on the first Mountain stage |

Another win and 3rd for Kankovsky, this has been a brilliant race for us so far and probably our best showing this season

Yeah Heineken got serious there and gave a real example of who the class above is. Pretty embarressing actually how weak some teams were in this monster TTT chrono (some like Bonsucro down to bad luck it must be said).
This could turn into a real monster points haul for Eastman and that team. Not sure that will necessarily be the case - depends on that hilly stage - it could see a breakaway mess GC up possibly as we have seen elsewhere. Sort of hoping for that sorry to levi of course about that.
Still Eastman has now what 1.30 at least on any serious contender...other than those from his own team. Very useful.

The eagerly anticipated team time-trial in Sacramento was served up today as stage 4. Stage favourites Heineken escorted overall race favourite Ryan Eastman to a comfortable victory and placed the young man in yellow. Jairo Agudelo gloriously led his Kazzinc squad to second place on the stage and moved himself into 11th overall. Although time was lost to Eastman today, many rivals lost more time, so overall a great performance to be leading the Colombian challenge. In-n-out racing popped up for a a surprising third place on the stage ensuring that veteran Julian Rodas remains well placed overall. Cayetano Sarmiento was not so fortunate in this stage, a discipline not best suited to his talents (54 TT!). His Boeing-Bulgaria team-mates dragged him round in a lowly 9th place out of the 12 teams starting. Even then Sarmiento managed to loose the wheel of his teammates on the finishing straight to come in a few seconds adrift. Nevertheless he assures me that he feels in good form when I bumped into him at the race hotel this evening, "keeping his powder dry until the mountains appear". Hopefully he can get through the rest of this first week without giving up too much time to the main GC contenders.
(Thanks to TSMoha for reporting. To date the rapid posting rate has not impacted the usual quality in any way).

This getting very easy very quickly for Heineken and this is looking like a massive points scoring performance if it keeps up |
