Our training camp in Tuscany went really well. All of our riders are excited to start the second part of the season. However, one rider really stood out. It was such a rare sight to see, that the staff all believed they had too much wine the day before.
Everyone was just enjoying the sun when one crazy British chap hopped on his time-trial bike and took off. It was almost dark when he returned, just in time for dinner. Hopefully his ride will pay off in the future.

With the second part of the season about to start, we will take a look at the Continental races where we are starting these coming months.
The first one will be the Brabantse Pijl, which comes perfectly after the major cobble races and right before the Ardennes. With Peter Sagan aiming for both of these classics, we hope we can animate this race.
Next up will be the Giro del Trentino. This race will mostly serve to see in what kind of form our riders are for Il Giro. However, we still hope to come away with a good result here.
Our last two wildcards are for the double in the USA. The Tour of California is one of our biggest races of the season and we want to do better than last year when Peter only won one stage.
The other race in the USA is the Philadelphia International Championship. After Peter's victory last year, we come back here to win here again. Our sponsors would definitely be happy to see Sagan back on the top spot again.

With their races coming up soon, it is the right time to reveal the schedules of Josh Burton and Silvio Pennarossa. They both don't have a lot of racing in this part of the season, as they are working towards their goals in the third part of the season.
Silvio Pennarossa
In his build up towards the Tour de France, Silvio will be spend his time in Switzerland riding the Tour de Romandie and the Tour de Suisse. Both these races include an individual time trial, where we hope Silvio will get a good result.
Tour de Romandie | [29.04 » 04.05] | Tour de Suisse | [14.06 » 22.06] |
Josh Burton
Josh, like Silvio, will also be spending this part of the season racing in one country. He will travel with Peter to the United States of America, to race the Amgen Tour of California and then head to Philadelphia for their Cycling Classic. Josh will be allowed to ride for himself in California, depending on how the race unfolds. In Philadelphia we expect him to work for Peter.

Ronde van Vlaanderen
Guillaume Boivin
Mauro Da Dalto
Jonathan Dibben
Edward King
Paolo Longo Borghini
Mads Pedersen
Fabio Sabatini
Peter Sagan
Team goal: Win
The Ronde van Vlaanderen is one of the most prestigious races, so it is no surprise that we have made it a goal to win here. With Sagan we have the most versatile rider of the peloton in our team. The race unfolded exactly in our favour, when Sagan went after Verboven. They both joined the breakaway at the Oude Kwaremont and Peter went straight to the front of the group. At the top he got rid of everyone, except Bozic and Vliegen. On the Paterberg, he dropped Vliegen as well, however with 46 kilometers to go Cancellara joined them up front. This would make it much harder for Peter to win, so we told him to save his energy and to not do any pulls at the front. Luckily Cancellara seemed already happy with just being at the front and dragged Sagan and Bozic along to the finish. It then was easy for Peter to finish it off and take the victory in Vlaanderen. Our team does not like racing in Spain for some reason and this year's Vuelta al Pais Vasco was no different. We were hoping Moreno Moser would be able to get a good result here. While he rode a decent race, he never found himself in the top 10 of a stage. Worst of all, he managed to finish 11th in the General Classification, which is usually reserved for a BMC rider. Our other riders got a bit of air time by going in breakaways. This resulted in a 4th place finish on stage 2 for Villella.
