Well I think, he is too good to be considered for the early breakaway but too bad to be considered strong enough to get good results in the end against stronger puncheurs.
But surely he is having a nice race here and there just like De Maar at Quickstep.
Always good to have those riders, who can top10 in a few races.

De Maar has more than triple of Rabon's points (307 to 97), yo yeah, it would be nice to have De Maar.
40 points from that 97 are from his first race in Down Under. Since that, 57 points from three stage races.

Did not want to compare them 1:1.
But I feel that both riders are often showing nice performances regularly despite not being the best with their stats.

I have different opinion on 97 points during half of the year being nice here and there, but that is my job as team manager, to question riders performances.

Those 76 HI riders can be bitches Had some nice results with Visconti and Jiao last year, but this year, especially Jiao ain't standing a chance so far. While Visconti finally got the right race planning to play his COB-HI skills to almost perfection.. Rabon has a nice package overall, with some luck, he would score you double the points than he did so far, but given the competition, there was never a garantuee he would always hit the Top-10, imo.
That said, i would love to see him adding some points to your bucket soon. Always been interested in him, so yet another reason to cheer for Metinvest to turn the season to the other way round.. You can leave Bayern Rundfahrt to Koren though

Yeah, those 76ers (not those bballers though) are a bit risky to rely on. Some of them can have star season and some of them can disappoint a lot. So far, i would rate Rabon as decent from that point of view. (everybody knows that i am not patient manager, so hey).
Anyway thanks for a nice words Tsmoha, but Bayern is for Ignatiev iirc (who will probably loose win chances in that tough stage).

Okay, Bayern for Ignatiev. Sounds fair.. Guess both Koren and him will have to avoid any trouble on that climb. Really not looking forward to this stage Still remember Koren sitting up in Ukraine's hilltop-finish... Just another risky thing, those 74-75 HI riders
I think it`s not only 76 but more 76-78 riders.
Can`t say I am much impressed of Roux so far.
I mean he has nice backup stats with 74fl, 78hi, 75acc and 82fig and still not showing a lot attacks or results.
Had expected him to show more mid stage attacks actually.

Dont even remind me that stage, i know you were the one that got most of my rage shitstorm, sorry
Koren was even bigger victim there...
And yeah, i am pretty scared that both of them will fail again and someone like Kangert or Craven will steal the glory.

Roux is up against the best puncheurs in the world, though. I think there is something like 25-30 better puncheurs in the PT this season, and they are almost in every single hilly race all of them. And in the harder hill stages his MO/HI combination is bollocks. I had the same problem with Diego Ulissi, who was a much much better rider.
Just for the fun of it, I have assembled the list of riders I feel is better than Roux in the PT:
Alberto Contador 77HI, 83MO, 77END
Guillaime Levarlet 79HI, 74MO
Edvald Boasson Hagen 85HI, 70MO
Peter Sagan 78HI, 74MO, 78END
Rein Taaramae 78HI, 82MO
Jan Bakelants 84HI, 75MO
Simon Spilak 80HI, 85MO
Riccardo Ricco 80HI, 82MO
Simone Ponzi 82HI, 73MO
Damiano Caruso 78HI, 69MO, 76END, 70SPR
Romain Sicard 78HI, 82MO
Damiano Cunego 82HI, 83MO
Dmitry Claeys 83HI
Daniel Martin 77HI, 81MO, 77END
Philippe Gilbert 80HI, 80END, 80FL
Nicolas Roche, 80HI, 78MO
Francesco Ginanni 83HI, 70MO
Tiago Machado 77HI, 84MO
Rui Costa 80HI, 71MO
Robert Gesink, 81HI, 81MO
Jelle Vanendaert 78HI, 72MO
Luis Leon Sanchez 79HI, 77MO
Angel Madrazo 76HI, 85MO
Justo Tenorio 76HI, 83MO
Vincenzo Nibali 77HI 82MO
Stefan Schumacher 82HI, 80END
Rasmus Guldhammer 77HI, 80MO
Robin van der Hugenhaben 80HI, 77MO
Thomas Dekker 76HI, 82MO
Alejandro Valverde 79HI, 79MO
Patrick Sinkewitz 78HI, 74MO
Maurice Schreurs 78HI, 76END, 71SPR
Yuri Trofimov 83HI, 78MO
Franck Schleck 82HI, 79MO
Ben Gatauer 81HI, 71MO
Domenik Klemme 80HI, 74MO
Aleksandar Flügel 80HI, 72MO
Filippo Pozzato 78HI, 79END, 77SPR
Taylor Phinney 77HI, 82MO
Stefan Denifl 76HI, 83MO
Tejay van Garderen 82HI, 72MO
Jay McCarthy 79HI, 78END
These are, without a doubt, better than Anthony Roux on almost every possible hilly stage there is. That is 42 riders, and I have then looked past some 75HI riders with massive backup stats.
And then there are a lot of riders with 75, 76 and 77 HI stat with decent MO stat aswell as a pretty decent kick, whom could also be better on several occassions.
It's actually quite unbelievable that some of these riders gets a massive amount of points, when you look at what they have to beat to get there.
I totally agree. I don`t believe that Roux is a top20 puncheur. So every top20 would already be solid for him in those classics.
What I meant though is that he rarely follows mid stage attacks despite having a great flat and fighter stat.
But obviously 78 is either too much for mid stage attacks or his backup stats make him too strong in average for those attacks.

Roux is a bizarre one - you'd expect him to attack but he doesn't and his low sprint stat makes him useless in a group.
He'd make a nice PCT co-leader/super domestique for Gautier next season though

And Gautier would make a decent hilly leader for Festina in the PT next season
