Hoping Trek factory racing can do something in the tour. Andy Schleck is out. Frank Schleck and Zubeldia are way down in GC now. Their sprinter Danny Van Poppel is also out. Its been poor TdF for them so far. |

I don't really see why Astana don't take a break and let them slide to 7-8 minutes. They shouldn't be too worried about anyone in the break for the GC.
According to TdF website GALLOPIN is still in break. Maybe for that. |

But if they lose the jersey to Gallopin they will longer be alone in controlling the coming mountain stages. Surely they would be able to make an alliance with Lotto who could appreciate the yellow jersey more than Astana. |

If Gallopin was not a climber, then they would have been okay with it. To give away like even 3-4 minutes. We do know Gallopin can also climb well.
Now gap is already 3min, they may give away yellow jersey but dont want too bigger gap.
Becasue stranger things have happened in TdF in past like in 2006 Oscar Periero got 30min on Landis i break, and then made like very difficult for Landis. Same with Voecklar in 2011 when he did not let go of jersey untill stage 19, I think. |

Gallopin is not a climber and really can't be compared with Periero, sure he is a punchy rider but will easily lose 30 + minutes in every real mountain stage

Its a strange thing for Astana. Even if they lose it today, then they will have yellow jersey back tomorrow. At least they get 1 day break. |

I really don't get Europcar. Are they riding for favours or hope to get Rolland back into GC contention because with 20 guys hanging on their wheels, they have little chance to get the stage win if they catch Tony Martin. But then again, it's Europcar, they always race even if it doesn't make sense, makes them an enjoyable team.

Wtf is this shit? Why is nobody in the 2nd group riding? Soo tiring this. It's obvious that Europcar sucks. |

It's PCM logic at its best. Europcar have 3 riders so they do the work, nevermind that other teams are featured with two riders too (BMC, Katusha, ALM).
EDIT If Europcar riders attack, Europcar don't chase anymore and the whole gorup just waits to get caught by peloton. Yeah.

How a group that size could not of caught Martin is beyond me, it's only Le Tour so why race?

I think he can theres a cat 3 climb left Tony will score 2 pts de Marchi 1 and both will be on 18 so in this case GC decides I think and Tony will be higher in GC than de Marchi |

Yes he can and will. He's one point behind, will at least make that up on the cat3 climb now and is tied with De Marchi, but has won the higher ranked climb with the cat1 right now, which is what I think decides who gets to wear it in case of a tie.
