Both Hofland and Ten Dam were in the echelon last time I checked. Should be two Belkin riders in there last time I checked.
EDIT #1: Certainly just one Belkin rider now if there was two, and definitely Hofland.

I can see Phinney winning this stage with a late attack after OPQS burns themselves out keeping away from the peloton.
It's only half of the OPQS team in this group. Other 4 guys are in the chasing group. |

I think if BOTH Ten Dam and Hofland were there they wouldn't chase so hard. |

I know, but it's still a big part of the team, the strongest part also. Looks like its coming together though so less likely for Phinney. |

Looks like Wiggins, Ten Dam and Busche biggest beneficiaries of the echelon.
Yes Vande Velde.
Hadn't even realized he was retired. Probably one of the more likeable american riders in the past.

Garmin Sharp riders apparently cannot stop crashing, now we've had a crash in ATOC involving a Garmin rider. Looks like it may be Rohan Dennis.

Dennis (GRS) hit the deck with a Novo rider. |

Am I the only one that doesn't understand BMC? Phinney and GVA working in the breakaway, but also BMC riders working in the chase group... Shouldn't they just pick one? either sit on the break or sit in the chase.

There is a lack of race radios right? Might be some miscommunication or something among the BMC riders in the peloton behind.

They did that shit @ Roubaix as well. Got Hushovd in the break, still chase. |

Even without radios, would think at some point Team car comes up and gives orders... it wasn't like they only did this for a few seconds they were working in both groups for essentially the whole time of this break.

Not sure :/ Belkin appeared to be doing both too, though they both might have been trying to slow things down I think they were thinking of GC. |

Boonen and Phinney are still up for this apparently.
EDIT #1: ...and now they decide to save their legs for another day.

oO like Phinney and Boonen out front like that though... they could be very tough to bring back.

Haha, Sagan just making sure everyone realises he is still there by trying to sneak in to the latest attempts to get away.

New eleven man breakaway formed now, with Martin Velits of OPQS seemingly involved.
