What I decided on in the end...was very close to swap Scarponi with Aru, but somehow couldn't find a combination I liked then. Plus I don't like Scarponi, so at least I have something to cheer about if he performs.
I quite liked the 4-point opportunities, so I took plenty of them to get Evans in. Quintana a must, Majka a hope. Viviani because I believe he'll try to finish and challenge Kittel the most.

I was quite pleased with this team. I have spread the risk which I find is always a good idea for any non-TDF GT because you never know who is going to be in form. Obviously without Martin now it all looks a bit rubbish. Still, 4 GC top 10 prospects (including the favourite) as well as Ulissi and Wellens (who I think could have a good race this year). There are also a number of sprints early on so my usual only-take-one-sprinter strategy looked flawed. Bouhanni can climb better than Kittel and Colbrelli has been riding well this year and will be peaking for this.

Well, Nairo is favourite to win so a rather obvious choice there. I think Uran will get on the podium maybe even in second so definitely a good rider to get. Pozzovivo should do well and he wasn't overly expensive. Cunego is a grab at only 10, I reckon a top 10 GC from him and/or a few stage wins here and there. Matthews is one of the better sprinters here and is good sprinting a bit uphill as well, also not overly priced and should get points. Castroviejo should get points for being a team mate of Nairo. Hoogerland is a definite possibility for the KOM riding for Androni, a stage win could also come from him. Pauwels as a team mate of Uran. And last but not least Rubiano who could come away with the KOM and a possible stage win from the breakaway.

I do believe Matthews is a very clever call, LLS. He's likely to be in pink after today, that should give him a lot of free points.

I don't think it's a great team, but it should be a fun team
It comes down to how many points Bol and Avila will score in the sprints as 4 pointers, as there were other nice options, such as Rubiano, Mezgec and Wellens, but they felt more like wildcards, so I ended up with two sprinters that should have potential to get a couple of top 10s. |

Quintana, Uran, Pozzovivo and Arredondo should all score very well in the GC. And Pellizotti could surprise a few people.
