The old master still has it! Schleck outsprinting Hagen there was something but as you reported roturn it was one very tough stage were the GC men went all in.
Very pleased with the activity and general performance of our young riders Juul-Jenson looked to do something and Prevar rode very nicely as did Samoilev. Three guys in the top 30 or so riders is nice for me here.

Roux one of the weakest climbing puncheurs had to struggle here. Boom could have helped him but riding on his own also was nice to see as I have two in top 20.
Roux at least fought in his trio group and reduced the loss nicely.
The top GC men really showed a nice fight there Congrats to SN with another Schleck success. |

Great stage and great report.
Another brilliant performance by Schleck to put him right back in the middle of the 5 way GC fight. Shame he couldn't gain more on the struggling Italians - very impressive effort from Ponzi to keep hauling himself back and only lose 17 seconds. And actually, a 17 second gain on Cunego is really good on a stage like that.

And this is why PCM13 is superior to 12. From neutral perspective it was a tremendous stage.
Not sure how Ponzi kept the jersey here, but somehow he did. Exciting battle till the end, looking forward to the next stages.

As said on Twitter. I more or less experienced good reports with PCM 13 reports.
Ponzi with the leader motivation to fight for every second. |

Very nice stage, nice to see PCM13 is way better than previous PCMs in some ways indeed!
And what a great fighting spirit by Sagan! He clearly wanted to attack in the stage a lot and he got me another great result in the end. I guess his decent MO, really good DH and good ACC are helping him a lot in stages like this.

Very good performance from Boasson Hagen, considering the toughness of the stage
Congrats to Schleck, and well done to Ponzi. If Boasson Hagen had taken the lead, I think he would've had a decent chance at overall victory. As it stands now, it's going to be very hard for anyone to beat Ponzi, as he might podium the next stage and win the 6th.
And thanks for another very nice report, roturn. PCM13 looks to be great in hilly stage races compared to PCM12 |

Great stage, I was in a bit of a panic every time Ponzi was dropped, but damage limitation played out very well there.
I'm astonished he's still in the lead, but hopefully more stage successes will keep him in it!

This is mainly because of PT field i think, and yes, hilly AI is better indeed, that was the most broken part of pcm12. Still it will be breakaway fest in PCT and CT...
Big congrats to Good Energy so far, i like that team and Ponzi is doing great so far in Italy, fingers crossed for him to win it all.

Finally one if my sprinters delivers. After a weak Qatar Guardini proves his PT quality. Nice third.
Ponzi. What a beast. Next win.
Disaster for Pokerstars. Can't be happy. But not organized train for some reason. |

OMG Ponzi is just toying around.
Ricco didn't try today, which is OK. I still hope he can climb a spot in the GC but it doesn't really seem realistic.

I like this result a lot. Hopefully he can win a stage this season |

Ponzi is really doing it for good energy here - you feel for Pokerstars though really in this one, that said Boonen had a great Qatar so it can go both ways.
Nice to see Colbrelli get involved, hoping we can have a go at a break before the end of the race but we shall see!

Good stuff from Gasparotto on stage 3, 6th is a good finish in this field. Hopefully he can replicate this in the PCT races, which he hasn't done so far.
Ben Nasser not staying with the best as expected, but a top 20 still could be on which would be a nice consolation if he can claw back the time to weaker puncheurs.

As mentioned, after successful Qatar, this is hard fall down to ground here. Degenkolb completely failed, Ginanni has still 2 more chances to improve my opinion about the race.
Ponzi absolutely amazing so far.

Wow, can't say I expected that. A top five, top ten, sure, but not to win another stage. Super happy though to get a bit more of a buffer over Hagen, Cunego, Schleck et al. seeing as most of those could beat Ponzi on the harder hilly stuff and have done in the past.
Going to be a tough final two stages, and my hopes aren't up yet...

Super Ponzi! Not much more to say really. Looks like he has just secured the points jersey and the GC. He needs a bad day if anyone is going to take the overall victory from him, I think.
Nice to see Boasson Hagen safe through that stage, now I just hope he can somehow get a stage win, but I fear his recovery stat makes that quite hard. Looking forward to the final two stages! |

Arnaud Ponzi with a strong race here, I'm slowly beginning to think I shouldn't cheer that much for him considering I could very well only become second behind him in every race then
