The world seems to be federalizing more and more into one big country, with organizations like the UN growing. Your opinions on this development please
IMO, this has to happen at some point. I think the EU might well be a good "prototype" as to how that might work out. If you look at the European elections that are coming up soon, they seem to be getting more and more important all the time. Maybe in 20, 30, 40 years these will be the main elections, this will be what really counts, and the national elections will be more like regional elections. From then on, it should be possible to expand it on a bigger scale, and get the whole world organized like that?
Let's be short then, I had started to write something much longer but got a little carried away.
Not sure where it is federalizing more and more, it's announced that the current or coming European elections are going to be a feast for all populists or Euro-sceptics around Europe. They have little in common but a reject of federalization and a wish for more (national) sovereignty.
How are UN growing ? Mathematically it's always getting more countries since big ones have been separated into many more (USSR, Yugoslavia, etc.), but besides that I don't see ?!
Nah, I'd rather say we're evolving towards a more homogeneous Western civilization.
with the soccer world cup starting today, we thought it would be a nice idea to have a dilemma that's related to the world cup
some teams in the world cup have players that are born in a different country then the one they are playing for, most notable is Diego Costa. bespite being born in Brasil, he's now playing for Spain. he's seen as a traitor to his country in Brasil. should changing nationalities still be allowed and how long before a country that's wealthy thanks to the oil industry gets some of the best players in the world to play for their country in return of a large sum of money?
