Two very near misses there, should still have plenty of money for the fight for PCT survival.
Reading the post above, I first thought it was some weird sponsor announcement.
Hope everything went allright there.
I can see how it could be confusing, and thanks to DD and yourself for the good wishes at the time. As it so happens, redundancy beckons. Timing still to be confirmed, but not all bad news; have pennies saved up to take a (cheap) year or two out, so will finally be able to get back on the bike (been away from it for more than a decade as a rider), and should have more time for other activities, including the Man-Game. Envisage joining the reporting team once everything settled down by the summer .

That's of course never nice to hear, but good that you can take some positives from it.
Also looking forward to reading your reports. If they're anything like your HQ updates, we'll be in for a treat.
And wow, that's a long time off the bike. Never knew you were that "old", tbh.

Following the earlier update on performance versus team goals, a barebones summary of all major results from this season is now presented (top 10's). Following the completion of the season, more in-depth analysis will be presented on a rider-by-rider basis. For now, a big table!

Beltran's season looks ridiculously good...as a team that has far less good (surprise) results, I hope you pay for his success in renewals

@ Dippo Yes, I'm probably the grandfather of the MG , although there were various good reasons for being away from the bike. Think the upcoming period is going to be my mid-life crisis equivalent (no Porsche unfortunately though!).
@ Cio93 I was confident that Beltran would be a strong CT rider even at level 3, but has been better than I could have wished. We went after him hard in transfer season (free agent), so eneded up paying him 150K for the year, so I expect his wage to go down, even if he is in the top 10 of the CT divsion (if I compare to e.g. Nardins wages from a similar return last year).
@ knockout Cheers mate. Quite a few of the wins are minor jerseys though, so does perhaps over-egg it. Nonetheless, 12 stage wins (and hopefully counting ...), 1 GC overall and 1 classic is what helps propel us towards promotion .

Beltran is one of the biggest talents in the game imo, so if he was European you wouldn't pay him JUST 150k now

Shhh!, stop drawing attention . I recall during transfers that manager X sent me a PM apologising for the fact that he was going to overbid me in the closing minutes as he had just lost out elsewhere. After a period of minor panic, we both realised deal already closed, but as I was so inexperienced, I thought I must have misunderstood how things worked! Fortunatley no problem, and X managed to find a good solution elsewhere.
As was discussed in one of the race threads, is a shame that was impossible to gain a level for Beltran this season while racing CT, but that was planned for going forward long-term. Still a while away, but looking forward to when he does finally max out (even at level 4.0 he will be dangerous ).

It'll be tough to decide for you what to do with him once he does reach 4.xx...
I feel like I want to slightly broaden my roster in terms of continents represented (maybe one from each?), so if that happens while I'm in PT and you decide he needs a loan, hit me up

Yip, decisions, decisions. Plan A was to take 2 seasons to get to lvl 4, then loan out (2016 season). Plan A then became potential to max without loan and still max in 2 seasons as promotion started to look likely (although would rely on picking up a good number of wildcard places). Now we are entering transfer season and the 'buzz' is warming up, now even considering loaning to PT this season to get him up to e.g. 4.65ish (currently 3.65) to then come back and attempt to max in 2016; this would then hinge on avoiding relegation next season. Not quite as far as Plan Z yet, but this is for only one rider! Glad my full-time job will soon be Man-Game manager !

Grupo Nutresa talent development update
A number of young riders have spent a productive 2014 representing Nutresa's colours. Chernetskiy and Campos will return to their parent teams @ Tinkoff and Mobil respectively. I am sure that upon their return, they will undergo appropriate lab testing to quantify development achieved across the season. Nutresa have similarly been putting riders under the microscope, and can report the following outcomes:
Gennadiy Tatarinov | 2014 Team | Grupo Nutresa | 2014 XP Level | 3,31 | 2015 XP Level | 4,00 | Training Focus | Climber | 2015 Loan Availability | Yes (PT) |
Year | Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 2014 | 68 | 70 | 69 | 62 | 69 | 69 | 64 | 57 | 65 | 69 | 71 | 62 | 62 | 2015 | 69 | 73 | 72 | 63 | 70 | 70 | 66 | 57 | 65 | 71 | 74 | 63 | 63 |
Gennadiy is developing nicely into a solid stage race domestique with an aggressive approach to getting into breaks. He will be looking for a PT team willing to give him the opportunity to maximise his potential in the 2015 season on loan before returning to Nutresa.
Dayer Qunitana | 2014 Team | Grupo Nutresa | 2014 XP Level | 1,00 | 2015 XP Level | 3,08 | Training Focus | Stage racer | 2015 Loan Availability | No |
Year | Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 2014 | 68 | 69 | 66 | 65 | 69 | 68 | 69 | 50 | 61 | 61 | 65 | 63 | 65 | 2015 | 68 | 72 | 68 | 68 | 71 | 70 | 72 | 50 | 61 | 61 | 65 | 63 | 68 |
Team management are very pleased with the rapid progression demonstrated by Dayer Quintana and look forward to further progress in 2015.
Eduard Alexander Beltran | 2014 Team | Grupo Nutresa | 2014 XP Level | 3,01 | 2015 XP Level | 3,65 | Training Focus | None | 2015 Loan Availability | Perhaps! |
Year | Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | 2014 | 68 | 74 | 74 | 65 | 71 | 70 | 68 | 59 | 65 | 72 | 73 | 73 | 65 | 2015 | 68 | 74 | 74 | 65 | 71 | 70 | 68 | 59 | 65 | 72 | 73 | 73 | 65 |
Eduard was aware when he signed for Nutresa that his progression in 2014 would be limited by participation in the CT (RD restrictions), however long negotiations convinced him of the long-term vision of the Grupo Nutresa project, and his place at the center of that vision. After a stellar season that has propelled him into the top 10 in the individual standings, Nutresa management will listen to PT loan offers for this young talent in 2015. Eduard is very keen to experience GT racing if such an opportunity was available. Team management have hinted to media that they would expect any loan offer to include a guarantee of progression to somewhere in the region of 4,80 or even better if possible. Without a suitable offer, Eduard will instead be given the opportunity to continue his progression racing for his natural home team in the PCT.
Spoiler Thanks to those that have preceded in terms of concept and layout.

I think your plan for Beltran is spot-on. He won't be as much use in PCT as CT, so I think a PT loan deal is the best option and will allow you to potentially max him in the following season.

The way he overperformed in CT, I would prefer to avoid Beltran in both 2015 and 2016 so you better loan him out now!
I see you adapted my technique of expecting the PT gain to be somewhere around the 4.80 mark (not that I was the first I guess), it worked like a charm for me three times this season.

Thanks for the responses guys; overall have come round to the thinking that loaning Beltran out in 2015 is best protection of his long-term progression and usefulness in the unhappy scenario that we relegate from PCT. I forsee a big battle between the promoting CT team through most of the season to avoid the drop next season. Most PCT teams remaining have way stronger foundations to build on and should expect to push on next season.
What remains unclear to me is how much room there is going to be across the PT for loan riders given that everyone reporting thus far on rider updates in PCT and PT appears to have 2-4 riders that need that PT experience to progress. Hopefully Beltran and Tatarinov are good enough to attract attention come transfer season, but does seem that some will miss out.

Someone like Beltran - who already proved to be PCM friendly - will surely attract PT teams next year

Scold me if I'm wrong in the end, but Tatarinov looks decent enough for Tinkoff and I guess Beltran will be rather highly sought after among the potential loanees if you can keep his wage acceptable.

Well such an eventuality would be an excellent outcome. Good to see some of the 'wise old sages' of the MG universe think there is potential for a positive response to their availability - reassuring for this novice drowning in various planning scenarios (current 'long' list has over 300 riders on it, need to start prioritising!).

Scorchio Cycling Management are pleased to announce that our lead sponsor Grupo Nutresa has confirmed their participation for the 2015 season as part of the previously agreed three year sponsorship package. The imminent promotion to the PCT following the teams inagural season has brought further opportunities for leading international companies to engage with our project. Agreement of exclusivity with Nutresa from Colombia is continued, but with the substantial increase in team budget required to compete at the next level of the Man-Game universe, additional sponsors are required.
We are delighted to confirm that a new main secondary sponsor coming onboard is Evraz
EVRAZ plc is a multinational vertically integrated steel making and mining company listed on the London Stock Exchange. The company has operations mainly in Russia, but also in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Italy, Czech Republic, the United States, Canada and South Africa. EVRAZ plc employs over 100,000 people globally. The connection with Evraz comes through existing personal sponsorship relations with Aleksandr Kolobnev who already acts as a brand ambassador for Evraz plc. We are delighted to engage with such a well established global brand. The Evraz logo will feature prominently on the team jersey and shorts, but their involvement falls short of secondary naming rights; although making a significant financial contribution, the Evraz board wants to evaluate the outcomes of this new partnership in 12 months time to assess whether or not to cement their involvement further.
A second exciting addition to our sponsor roster is Hexacta
Hexacta is a leading provider of offshore software development outsourcing. Based in Argentina, the company has a strong track record of service provision into the key North American and European markets. Hence a tie-up with cycling provides excellent visibility for Hexacta in their core target markets.
We are also delighted to confirm the continued invovlement of our key suppy chain partners:
Mitsubishi Motors continues to provide team vehicles and logistical support through local agent Motores Y Maquinas S.A., as well as now providing global support to our race program spanning across multiple continents.
Grupo Nutresa will continue to ride Wilier Trestina framesets that have performed admirably across all terrains and contributed to the many successes of the 2014 season.
Nutresa will be relying on Campagnolo groupsets throughout 2014; in managements opinion, their is only one viable choice in the market, and we are delighted to continue our association with the market leaders.
Pearl Izumi will again act as team clothing and apparel sponsor, working in collaboration with the infamous Aidanvn13 fashion-house.

Grupo Nutresa's inaugural MG season has met with considerable success leading to being crowned CT champions for 2014. It was a hard fought and close run battle all the way to the final days of racing. Congratulations to our fellow promoting team, and best wishes in the 2015 CT bun-fight to those who remain.

Summarising the point scoring and efficiency of the teams riders, it becomes obvious who the stand out contributers to the overall total were. This is not to discount the fantastic contribution across the whole squad who often sacrificed there own opportunities in pursuit of the best outcome for their teamates and the Grupo Nutresa CT organisation as a whole. Each and everyone of you has written yourself into the history books of this emerging cycling dynasty.

World Championship 'B' race summary
Grupo Nutresa were proud to provide 5 riders to the World Championship 'B' race held in Hamilton, Canada earlier this week. The Argentinian contingent of LS Haedo and Mauro Richeze were delighted to contribute to the team work that secured victory for team leader Max Richeze, as well as good placings for themselves. Mauro in particular was over-the-moon for his elder brother; there were a few sore heads the following morning following the previous nights celebrations! Both Nutresa riders are now focussed on getting back into the right frame of mind to participate in the 'A' World Championships as is the right of the nation successful in the 'B' race.
Michal Golas (riding for Poland) was an outside favourite if the race had proven to be a little more selective. Although the 248 km route proved tricky, it was not difficult enough in this instance to dislodge the top sprinters from the peloton. Nonetheless, Golas capped a fine season with a top 15th placing.
Masuda (Japan) and Ochoa Quintero (Venezuela) were proud to represent their respective nationa, but were both restricted to domestique roles on the day, not being best suited to the flat parcours.
