Who would target this looser that is riding two levels under his stats?
Anyway, great initiative fjhoekie and something that has support of my team for sure. Would be cool to have a chance to have a small mention on Metinvest jersey about this project too, as whole eastern europe as maket we focus on was damaged by this sad accident in the past. Good luck with this foundation!

Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt
line-up
| Artem Topchanyuk | Leader | | Oleksandr Polivoda | Sprinter | | Mykhaylo Kononenko | Domestique | | Oleksandr Golovash | Domestique | | Sergey Nikolaev | Domestique | | Muradjan Khalmuratov | Domestique | | Alex Wohler | Domestique | | Shaquille Sinclair | Domestique |
I am not quite sure what to expect here. Topchanyuk isn’t one of the division’s best climbers, but the fact this race is 8 days long may cause some strong riders to stay at home giving us a chance. Polivoda normally recovers well after hard stages, so perhaps he could be a threat on the flat stages.
line-up
| Tomas Vaitkus | Leader | | Bruno Lima | Domestique | | Oleksandr Polivoda | Domestique | | Igor Abakoumov | Domestique | | Eduard Vorganov | Domestique | | Andris Smirnovs | Domestique | | Shaquille Sinclair | Domestique |
I signed up for a race with cobbles. That wasn’t the plan, but we all know how the Tro Bro Leon went last year!
line-up
| Ignas Konovalovas | Leader | | André Greipel | Sprinter | | Tomas Vaitkus | Domestique | | Eduard Vorganov | Domestique | | Sergey Nikolaev | Domestique | | Martin Puusepp | Domestique | | Arturs Ansons | Domestique | | Andris Smirnovs | Domestique |
A team of locals will try to do well here. The Vaitkus and Greipel duo can be deadly if they find a way to work together.
line-up
| Tomas Vaitkus | Leader | | Bruno Lima | Domestique | | Oleksandr Polivoda | Domestique | | Alex Wohler | Domestique | | Andris Smirnovs | Domestique | | Shaquille Sinclair | Domestique | | Kobe Vanoverschelde | Domestique |
No, the game won’t recognize Kobe as domestique, shamefully… I honestly hope he falls or something to enhance Vaitkus’ chances.
During this month 4 of our riders will also ride the Tour d'Avenir. We do not have a full team, but Alex Wohler, Shaquille Sinclair, Oleksandr Golovash and Andriy Orlov have found a team to ride for in order to gain some valuable experiences.
@Avin: It'd be cool if multiple teams wore the Children of Chernobyl Foundation logo somewhere on their shirts!

With the season slowly progressing to our final races we feel like we should let our riders know what their futures might be. Currently it looks like the team may keep its PCT status, meaning the budgets would stay intact.
No one is sure to get released yet, and the riders who aren't certain to get a new contract hopefully will get some motivation to show they do deserve to get a renewed contract.
Staying
| Oleksandr Prevar | | Artem Topchanyuk | | Oleksandr Polivoda | | Oleksandr Golovash | | Mykhaylo Kononenko | | Vitaliy Buts | | Andriy Orlov | | Volodymyr Gomenyuk | | Tomas Vaitkus | | Ignas Konovalovas | | Maciej Ulanowski | | Marios Athanasiades | | Shaquille Sinclair |
The Ukrainians were always sure of getting a new contract offer. Both Tomas and Ignas have shown they are strong riders, and eventhough Vaitkus is aging he'd still be an excellent rider for any team. Maciej has proven to be our most valuable sprinter compared to his wage and Marios has become a team icon. Finally Shaquille is part of the team's future plans, and the media attention he gets doesn't hurt either.
Could be sold if renewed
| Vladimir Efimkin | | Eduard Vorganov | | Kobe Vanoverschelde | | André Greipel | | Polychronis Tzortzakis | | Filipe Cardoso | | Bruno Lima | | Martin Puusepp |
The riders on this list mainly do not fit in the team's focus. Kobe, André, Polychronis, Filipe and Bruno were all more than decent additions, but with Privatbank leaving they do not fit that great anymore. Both Russian veterans may be getting a bit too old to ride at this level, but would be good CT riders. Puusepp hasn't been good enough this year, but we think he can do better and we would be willing to give him another chance if no one decides to buy him.
Will stay if renewed
| Kyriakos Skettos | | Sergey Nikolaev |
These guys can only stay if they do not demand crazy wages. Kyriakos has a decent future as lead-out, something Sergey has done quite succesfully at the USAPCC.
Won't be renewed unless…
| Arturs Ansons | | Igor Abakoumov | | Robert Vrecer | | Muradjan Khalmuratov |
Not good enough is the reason these riders won't get a new contract unless they win an NC, or any other race really. Arturs is a weak rider, but his recent performance at the Baltic Chain Tour prologue shocked me. Igor, Robert and Muradjan are getting too old.
Eventhough the team does not want to release a list of transfer targets this year the media suspects the team will shift to a new focus. With the sprinting not being as succesful as hoped, and with 2 strong Ukrainian riders in Prevar and Topchanyuk, Children of Chernobyl may very well focus on short tours.
A few names which would be very obvious choices to try and sign are:
Andrei Grivko
Jaroslav Popovych
Dmitri Grabovski
Vadim Ratiy
Mikayil Krasnoperov

I like your targets, obviously being my targets too.
I am trying to bring Grivko like three years now, same for Grabovski. Their managers are loving them too much though...

Would be nice to see another top Ukrainian leader to go with Topchanyuk of them I'd assume Ratiy or Grivko to be the most cost appropriate and points worthy of their price |

September and October Preview
line-up
| Filipe Cardoso | Leader | | Martin Puusepp | Domestique | | Sergey Nikolaev | Domestique | | Arturs Ansons | Domestique | | Volodymyr Gomenyuk | Domestique | | Andriy Orlov | Domestique | | Alex Wohler | Domestique |
Our last C2 race of the season will be used to train Wohler and present our stagiare Orlov to the public. Results-wise we do not expect great things here, but Cardoso, Puusepp and Nikolaev could all end up pretty high making this not a waste of days.
line-up
| Ignas Konovalovas | Leader | | Eduard Vorganov | Domestique | | Mykhaylo Kononenko | Domestique | | Martin Puusepp | Domestique | | Marios Athanasiades | Domestique | | Andriy Orlov | Domestique | | Alex Wohler | Domestique |
Hilly races are not our the races we really favour, but Konovalovas may have a chance at a good result if he rides aggressively. This will be Orlov’s first chance to race at the level the team is right now.
line-up
| Ignas Konovalovas | Leader | | Maciej Ulanowski | Sprinter | | Tomas Vaitkus | Domestique | | Kobe Vanoverschelde | Domestique | | Igor Abakoumov | Domestique | | Martin Puusepp | Domestique | | Andris Smirnovs | Domestique | | Shaquille Sinclair | Domestique |
The Tour of Northern Europe will be the team’s ProTour debut, and for this we bring a team mainly consisting of local riders. Tomas Vaitkus is, despite being listed as a domestique, our best chance at a stage win as he has the strength to ride away from the pack during the final few kilometres. Konovalovas and Ulanowski will try to follow the big guns on their favoured terrains, and Shaquille will probably complain about the cold weather, but that’ll only make him a stronger rider in the future.
line-up
| Arturs Ansons | Leader | | André Greipel | Domestique | | Ignas Konovalovas | Domestique | | Kobe Vanoverschelde | Domestique | | Oleksandr Polivoda | Domestique | | Andriy Orlov | Domestique | | Shaquille Sinclair | Domestique | | Andris Smirnovs | Domestique |
Don’t even ask. This has to be the largest planning mistake ever made in the history of the SNUCI. Not only lacking a leader for the terrain, but four of the riders will also have to fly from Gothenburg really fast to even be here…
Philadelphia International Championship
line-up
| André Greipel | Leader | | Maciej Ulanowski | Domestique | | Kobe Vanoverschelde | Domestique | | Ignas Konovalovas | Domestique | | Sergey Nikolaev | Domestique | | Igor Abakoumov | Domestique | | Shaquille Sinclair | Domestique |
The last race of the season where we may expect a good result. If a train is formed for Greipel there should be no doubt it’s one of the best trains imaginable, but the competition is very strong in this league.
line-up
| Ignas Konovalovas | Leader | | Vladimir Efimkin | Domestique | | Artem Topchanyuk | Domestique | | Mykhaylo Kononenko | Domestique | | Robert Vrecer | Domestique | | Marios Athanasiades | Domestique | | Shaquille Sinclair | Domestique | | Andris Smirnovs | Domestique |
The Giro dell’Emilia will be our last race of the season, meaning we’ll have a longer winter break than most teams. Hopefully that’ll give us the chance to improve the team so we can think of reaching the mid-table next year, if we stay up.

Vanoverschelde always sounds interesting considering the success of the Degenkolb/Mohs duo this season, but I guess his price tag will be considerably higher than what I plan to spend on riders under contract this transfers...
Good to see that you're not going down and that you stay committed to your target countries.

After the Giro d'Emilia our season is now officially done! And what a tough season it was, only getting four wins in total, and missing all of our goals. The picture above more or less shows the struggle we had to even stay up.
The four wins were huge positives tho, so we'll just show them once more:
Tomas Vaitkus won quite early in the season. The 3rd stage in Oman was tricky, but his pure power secured a great victory, giving us hopes of many more.
Our home tour was rather unlucky, but André Greipel saved it by winning the final stage. We missed our goal here, but at least we showed ourselves.
The USAPCC was by far our best race of the season. Maciej Ulanowski won the fifth stage after a great lead-out by Oleksandr Polivoda.
'Poli' kept his form on the following stage which had a long hill to conquer at the end. Vorganov played a nice role on this stage, but all credits go to Polivoda!
Now only the NC and WC remain. Tomas Vaitkus is our biggest chance at a WC victory whilst Maciej Ulanowski could well be the favourite to win the B-Worlds.
Shaquille Sinclair already secured the Jamaican RR and TT titles by being the only cool kid from the island.
@cio: Vanoverschelde will be cheaper than what I bought him for...

Well done - looks likely you've secured PCT status for next season, confounding a number of the pre-season critics predictions . Didn't comment during the season, but enjoyed your regular monthly previews; look forward to battles to come in 2015!
Thought you'd also be interested to leatn that is is highly likely we'll be holding on to our trade purchase from yourselves last year, giving Cesar Andre an opportunity in the PCT - sure he will be happy to meet up with some old friends at the races. He has had the kind of season Nutresa managment expected of him, and as long as he is realistic during contract negotations, will secure a berth as a trusted domestique. Maybe we will conduct further business this transfer season? Lets see what happens!

@Scorchio: Glad to hear you like my HQ, and I also look forward to racing your team next year. We may not have te same focus now, but that can change quickly during the off season.
Also great to know Fonte has done what you wanted him to do. He's an excellent rider you bought for an excellent price. Should certainly be possible to do business again this year, in fact I may just approach you in the early days of the transfer window with a nice trade offer

With the season running to an end, the transfer rumours are all around again. One of the most interesting rumours we've caught so far is that Roman Maksimov might return to Ukraine to ride for the Children of Chernobyl Foundation p/b Nemiroff, the team which loaned him from CSC during the 2013 season. Back then the team was called Privatbank, and after a number of bad sprints by 'The Russian Rocket' his house caught fire, probably an action taken by the teammanager as punishment.
This week our reporters have seen constructionmen building a house on the very site Roman's last residence in the Ukraine was, possibly meaning he'll return as the ground is still owned by the team.
The team itself won't respond to any questions on this subject, so we can only say time will tell us what's going on.

Maksimov saga strikes back.
Roman just needs to be sure, there are no speedbumps in the area, because he cant ride over these.

When asked about Maksimov rumors at a recent press conference CSC-Orbea, soon to be Movistar, manager Mresuperstar just laughed for 15 seconds before moving on to the next question.

Andriy Orlov, our stagiare of this year hasn't had time to introduce himself to the team's fans yet. Every year the team takes on a young stagiare who will get to ride the first part of his season with his amateur team, and join us in August. Last year Oleksandr Golovash introduced himself before l'Avenir, Orlov couldn't do that.
He has introduced himself in a much better way, simply by showing himself in races. In face, he has scored more points than respected riders like Sergey Nikolaev and Martin Puusepp in his few race days.
Orlov attacking in Zagreb - Ljubljana
Andriy 'The Monster' Orlov has proven he has a bright future as super domestique for Oleksandr Prevar, another young rider from our academy. His attacking spirit already paid of twice, earning him a fourth place in C1 classic Zagreb - Ljubljana, and more notably a 7th place in the U23 Worlds!
Orlov (Blue and Yellow) attacking at the U23 Worlds
There is no doubt that if he will keep this spirit more, and better, results will follow soon!

Just like last year we've secured the Ukrainian champions jersey! This time it actually was a rider in our colours who won, and not a loaned out rider. From the start Buts and Polivoda joined a break of 4, which proved decisive. After a few attacks the four sticked together, and in an uphill sprint Polivoda was always going to be the fastsest. Buts made the win even better by making it a 1-2!
Prevar, riding in Simply Red Bull's colours managed to reach the other 2 members of the break, and eventually finished fourth, whereas last year's winner Topchanyuk came in in 9th, Kononenko 10th.
Our NC designer, trekbmc, is currently working on the jerseys for Polivoda and Sinclair. Also a few extra jerseys will be made to please our fans in various countries and to cover any other possible NC winners.

Or well, almost Christmas... And Christmas means what? Presents! Our riders have all been given a new shirt, even when no one is sure of getting a new contract yet. We hope this'll encourage some of our riders to stay for reduced wages.
Furthermore SCOTT has sent us a few new frames, designed by sgdanny for our riders to test. The first reactions are very positive, testing these frames on Mauritius was a huge success
As of now our NC designer, trekbmc, is still busy creating the jerseys for Shaquille Sinclair, Oleksandr Polivoda, Kyriakos Skettos, Marios Athanasiades and Ignas Konovalovas, as well as our fans, who'll be able to buy these NC jerseys from our webshop. All profits made on these jerseys will directly go the Children of Chernobyl Foundation, so make sure you get your jersey!
