Yes that's what I meant. Wasn't too clear on that
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

This. I never fully understood that concept, and I feel it doesn't add too much to the game either.
However specifically bidding to force a manager into overpaying on a rider you had no interest in is also banned in the rules.
"10. Suspicious activity or foul play is not allowed. You can and will be punished if you do such a thing. We reserve the right to disqualify bids from a manager on a certain rider, to prevent deliberately antagonising bids."
Although it is hard to prove on the bigger name riders. Though i hope no-one in the game would stoop to such tactics
I think they mean they don't understand why you'd flag up your targets to other managers who may not have spotted them yet, or at least that's part of the reason why we've stayed relatively quiet about our targets so far.
What i do is listing the obvious ones, which are no surprises to anyone. I would never list a rider that i really want and will try to pursue him as first option. (but i try to inform their managers about our interest in their HQ, if that is contracted rider).
Sorry Manx if you see my comment as ruining your initiative, i only wanted to clear this situation before it was too late.
If you still see no differences, here is my example what i thought, on my actual rider Andrea Palini. I searched database and done all stat updates on potential targets, that was a three days long work. Thanks to that, i realized that Andrea Palini could become punchy leader for PCT team in two seasons (with kind help from PT team, which happened at least in first season with Andrea). I am sure that some managers were aware of Andrea, people like rjc43 or Stevenag, who are amongst others focused on Italy. But these probably decided to go for other options and Andrea slipped under the radar. Result is potential 78hilly rider going to my team for 50k. If he was part of the pre-transfers article about potential talents, i doubt this could happen. Even more when all divisions will have transfers at same time this year....
I think that making post transfer Sound with list of bargains or great steals that was done would be much more fun, than potential worsening of atmosphere between managers.

I seriously dont see what the issue is. Most Managers recognize the strongest talents, yes some may go under the radar but who really cares. It happens in real life so all this is completely unnecessary. I would have let Manx do his thing.

Well, if nobody cared, we would not have this discussion, dont you think?
I think you will understand after you first transfer season madness.

Transfer "Livestreaming"?
So as we were hounded out of doing a transfer issue #TheSound has a new idea to annoy people! (just kidding)
For most of the next week we will take over @B3B_FDJ twitter, which is partly ours, and run some "livestreaming" about transfers. Now we get the rules and not to influence anything, so it's mostly going to be unofficial confirmations. We plan to throw in some commentary on the big battles (Herklotz and Bakelants spring to mind) along with updates on who is transfer listed. No rumors, just facts about what's happening.
Ideas are welcome along with any criticisms of the plan.
(Basically we all love transfer season and i want to add a bit more to it. Everything will be handled with tact and discretion and stay well inside of the rules)

I think that is a good idea, and won't spoil anything.

I like the idea... But I feel that I'm getting more and more pressured into using twitter...

It's mostly just people joking around or re-directing to HQ posts, so don't worry. All the serious chat still happens in the forums

So we've been Live-Tweeting as much as possible now, and i'm enjoying it. After the transfer period finishes i will try and gather all the tweets together into one big manuscript of the Transfer season

Starting to put ideas together for Issue #3. Going to interview someone about the transfer period (either a new manager or buyer of one of the big talents). Also going to look more in depth at the new real big talents (Hirt, Kudus, Ewan, Mohoric and Herklotz). Whale Watching should be nice as well, if i can make it work well in the layout i've got.
Not sure when it will be ready, probably not for a few weeks. Just an update that it is now underway

A piece on Kudus would be nice. If you want an interview from a talent buyer then let me know, I'd happily help |

Puma is the king if talent development, I'll give you that. Anyway, Kudus will own Herklotz if you don't train him as I'm going to put all my future cash into the Eritrean. |

Well, Demare could make Sagan look like a wannabe dual-threat with the right amount of training, so I might have to give ground there eventually.

With cash that Milka is able to throw around during transfers, i would not be shocked by actual Sagan developing in Demare-beater. 78 hill already, now just sprint training forever

You forgot Mullen. And Harrison and Horton. (And Christie, and Dunne)
But seriously, something on the biggest talents in the CT would be sweet, it's not like there aren't any (pretty much the whole Signal Iduna team springs to mind).

Well roturn, I believe the first thing Sagan really needs is some, big big training in some sharp and steep hills. Only then we can think about some serious sprinting training hours.

Rearranging some of my issue planning. Basically merging the next two into just the one edition. Still going to do a feature interview on Talents (person selected just need to confirm), and the an article on the development system. Will have an expanded Sound Wave section because i need to cover the new squad and plans. Finally Whale Watching should be good and a nice set up for the future (assuming i get permission from the higher ups).
Targeting to publish next weekend, perhaps with some divisional predictions.
