I think 16 people have applied, and out of those a few maybe didn't put any effort in, and also a few of those aren't active on the forum, so I reckon you have a decent chance.

Froomedog, you should've just deleted the double post while you were already editing, since i can't. 
And Cycleman i don't think activity is too big of a factor, though it would certainly help my app. If you look through the section, you see a lot of people that aren't really active on the other parts, like the two champions Dave and DubbelDekker.

@Ollfardh you say that but I got in last year and I'm certain that was all down to my appplication as I didn't have many posts at the time.
On that subject if anyone's wondering if they've written enough or what a successful application loos like I think some of the applications from previous years are still on the forum.

Application submitted to SN at MG HQ. Apologies if the carrier-pigeon from Colombia is a little late!
Good luck and best wishes to all fellow applicants jostling for a position in the MG 2014, and of course to all the 'old-timers' who make the MG community what it is. Whether successful or otherwise in my application, I intend to actively participate in the MG discussion and debate going forward into the new season, no more lurking on the side-lines  .

No firm deadline but a lot of the behind the scenes stuff is done so it isn't likely to be a long way away. Still I'd be surprised if SN wants it for much less than a week.

To all these new and excited applicants: Do not plan on an African team. You will lose badly. Kenya Airways and Project: Africa will be PCT next year. You also have Jaguar-Eritel in PCT. Just a heads up - you'll regret it

I would expect applications to be open for at least a week. So long as it is in before the deadline, it will get equal treatment - but of course, provisional decisions are going to have been made before then.
And ignore the current managers acting scared about interest in 'their' regions.
