Yeah, but there's a 'Classic' first, then a break of a day, isn't there?

Yeah seems so after looking at the route details, 'cause providing the start date of the actual TdU at the top of the website would be too easy.

I can't blame IssoIsso when you consider, assuming Paulo Martins is commentating... Who wants to get up at that time just to get an earful of Paulo Martins .

I'm with issoisso here. Never cared for Tour Down Under, never will. Might catch up on the results though for the CQ Game but that's all I'll do.

HA! I am Australian and I am not all that interested in the TDU either, I will watch some of it as we get it live on TV here which outside of the big Euro races and ToC we don't get. I rate it higher than races like Beijing but it really isn't all that important.

I don't care that much about the TDU, but I like the race and I think it's a nice start to the cycling season. Also it's nice to see my favourite sprinter taking some victories. |

Or to put it another way. Do you care about the Tour of Beijing?
I only care a slight bit about it because it's a little better than the Tour of Beijing

I think it's good to have a kind of mediocre race to 'officially' start the season. I like the race's unpredictability. For example, who would have thought Slagter would have won last year?
Also, why'd you delete your posts Isso?

I dont find the Tour of Australia Mediocre. Last years one was great especially when you have riders contesting the stage and GC on a climb. Far more exciting than the ToB.

Some thoughts on the Australian NC:
1. Liggett needs to retire. Quickly. Overblown commentary that contradicts what he said a minute earlier and just not that knowledgable about the sport.
2. Great kick from Gerrans to get away in the first place, though his final sprint wasn't that impressive.
3. Cameron Meyer as well with a fantastic ride.
4. I'm not sure why Gerrans attacked over the top of Meyer. I mean it worked in the end but it still strikes me as odd.
5. Seriously, Liggett needs to retire.
As for the TDU, yeah I don't care a lot about it either. I actually see far less of it on TV because it is on during the day which is much less convenient for me.

For me the TDU is also during school holidays which at least gives me something to watch, even if it isnt live.

Not sure I agree there. Liggett is still a good commentator. Plus, there's not exactly a pool of capable commentators lined up.
