Me: Wasn't it being said that you would drive for Movistar after the year with us.
Michal: I had signed a contract with them but when I got the opportunity to go to an English or American team I would sign for them.
Me: Afterwards you signed with OPQS, what are your feelings about that transfer.
Michal: You know OPQS is one of the biggest cycling teams. They want to become "the" strongest team. What can I say, It's just so nice to be with them
Me: Thanks Michal for this short interview
Michal: No thanks, see you later this season. Bye

Back from the dead and showing strength all around Western Europe
Introduction + Pre-season
you’ve probably already heard about the French triplets that, for the first time, in the lives are riding against each other. Well that’s me and I go by the name Pyroli Feunard. however I don’t really care about it like my brothers. sure it’s a nice thing to talk about on the side but I don’t pay much attention to it. Rather talk about results then the fact that I’m from a family of 10 member. How I got at Caja Rural is actually a funny story. When my brother said that there is going to be a new management and that it is possible for young riders to get a easy pass to being a professional cyclist. You only needed to impress a team. I was one of the only two guys who didn’t managed to impress a team but because the UCI feel sorry for me most likely, they contacted Caja Rural if I could possible ride there for a season. They agreed and that’s how I found my place in Spain with only the language barrier to overcome as I didn’t speak Spanish. That partly the reason why I didn’t ride much during the first season part. I was at home taking care of the family and learning cycling Spanish in the meantime.
Clasica Almeria, Strade Bianche, GP Indurain
My first and only races during the first season part where the Clasica Almeria (78th) Strade Bianchi (59th) and GP Indurain (63th). Being a attacker in a team full of attackers is kind of weird racing. First one in the breakaway is the one that’s going for a result. I learned that in Almeria where André Cardoso was in the break and I basically had a free day from that point out. I spend the day mostly with some of the other riders of the team to up my Spanish a bit. The race wasn’t hard enough to drop me and I finished in the middle of the peloton. I did have a few laughs at my brothers since they didn’t finish yet in the top 100 and I already did it. I know I said that I didn’t really care about it but when you beat someone at their own game, you can’t help but laughing at them a little. They could handle it though. During the next race (Strade Bianchi) I took a look at the other side of the job. I was in the break of the day with 7 other guys but we got caught with 28 km to go. Still has a nice experience to learn about riding in the break (I can say that those guys weren’t really happy with the way I rode in the break) I finished in the peloton that basically stopped riding when Sagan took off. Some riders saw this and went after him but didn’t really get close. I was at another break in the GP Indurain with Juan Manuel Gárate of Belkin. I was a fan of him when I was still someone that was only watching cycling, so riding with him in the break was really special for me. I think he noticed though because with 20 km to go he went off alone pursuing what would eventually be a third place. probably annoyed by me constant watching him. When I was eventually caught I almost went right through the peloton they were riding so fast and I just couldn’t follow any longer. I eventually finished (like mentioned before) in 63th place which still is one of my best of this season so far.
Ronde van België
I had a bike break until my next race which was actually a stage race in Belgium of all places. I did really well there, as I finished every stage in the top 100. Some races were uneventful but the first stage took the crown. Nothing happened all day, we didn’t even bother to put someone in the break. We did try that in the second stage but Sky wasn’t letting any of us away for some reason. The stage had cobbles in them and most of us don’t like cobbles that much except Van Drenthe and Piedra wre the only ones that were able to finish in the peloton that day. Van Drenthe kept the momentum going by finishing 37th on the next time trail putting him in 24th of the GC. I didn’t really tried to put in a great time but I still finished 88th. Stage 4 wasn’t that hard, just a few speed bumps in the last laps weren’t tough enough to drop me from the peloton. We did however missed our chance to put someone in the break so it was kind of a disappointing day. that last stage was the only difficult one with a lot of hill and a hill finish to boot. This day was for the two guys that were still standing good in the GC (Van Drenthe 25th and Piedra 41st) Piedra did try his luck but wasn’t able to make it last until the end, both he and Van Drenthe eventually finished in the peloton, behind a mix of break and the attackers from the peloton that did last until the end. I tried to help Nicky and Antonio as long as possible but on the last hill they needed to work alone. I would crash from exhaustion if I didn’t drop back to the grupetto.
Feunard Games
Between all the hectic of real racing my brothers came up with a game where they ignore all the other riders and only focus on which one of us finished better. they call it the Feunard Games. I wasn't around when they came up with the name. So far I only had one meeting with one of them and that was at Strade Bianchi (I won there ) but the other guys did have various meeting which lead to Voltali Feunard (riding for Accent Jobs) currently leading the rankings but since we all race at the French National Championship, the winner of that race will get triple of what a normal win is worth and will without question take over the leader board.
Spoiler Race | First | Second (if possible) | Third | GP la Marseillaise | Aquali (100th) | | Voltali (110th) | Strade Bianche | Pyroli (59th) | | Voltali (132th) | GP di Lugano | Voltali (91th) | | Aquali (101th) | Finanzplatz | Voltali (80th) | | Aquali (130th) |
| Best of Three (+3 Pts) | First (+1 Pts) | Last | Points | Voltali (Accent Jobs) | 0 | 2 | 2 | 2 | Pyroli (Caja-Rural) | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | Aquali (Soajsun) | 0 | 1 | 2 | 1 |
In case you were wondering, I still have one race this season part but it’s still underway and I don’t want to end a blog in the middle of a race. I did however found time to write this overview since the Suisse nights are really long, I’ll talk about how that’s been going after it finishes. (spoiler alert: not so well compared to Belgium)

Hi manager, I was wondering what you think on a calander that I made myself so that my brothers that need to do it don't feel so left out. you don't have to listen too it though but if you could think about letting me ride these races, it would really mean a lot to me.
Burgos
Britain
Emilia
Paris-Tours
this would give me 7 + 9 + 15 = 33 days in the saddle this season
so what do you think about it, one thing I actually don't want to ride is the Vuelta. I don't think I am ready for that

I’ll continue were I let off last time, with update on how my Tour de Suisse went. It started with a proloque were I took it easy and finished a minute down as almost last (191th out of 198 starters) and it immediately crushed my streak of constant top 100 finishes. The next stages were for a team like ours a one man race, the first to get in the break gets to work that day and the others won’t waste too much energy because they get a chance the next day. I did my job and finished without much trouble in the peloton. The second day was similar, Piedra from our team saw his chance to attack that day but didn’t get away. In the end nobody from us was in the break today, the manager was so angry that I think everybody took their earpiece off in fear of hearing damage, he was yelling so loud, that I could almost hear him in the peloton. The next stage, Ferrari tried but Lindeman was also in the break and the peloton wouldn’t let him go. Again nobody from us in the break. Manager is angry again for not being in there. while dropping from the peloton I carefully hid behind one of the longer guys so that the manager wouldn't see me. He emptied a bottle above André Cardoso’s head in anger. It apparently motivated André because he went in the break the next day. he picked up some points with a 4th place by outsprinting Saxo’s Kroon. another quiet day and the silence from the manager was nice as well . Day 6 was for Txurruka to be in the break, I was riding to the front of the peloton but as soon as I wanted to attack Amets did and I didn’t want to do extra breakaway work because we were with two guys. So I stayed with Lasca and finished in the groupetto today while Amets took the KOM jersey. Back at the hotel, we had a hard time to get him out of that jersey to be honest, he was so proud to wear that jersey he didn’t want to change clothing. After 30 minutes the manager said that we should play around like that. So in the end, Amets had dinner in his mountain jersey. Quite a funny sight though . Arroyo was one of the guys that didn’t participate in the charade and it showed because he was the only guy in the breakaway the next day but due to Totti and Sørensen attacking early in the stage, they had no chance to make it to the end. I had a though day with the climbs being too hard for me I finished with Cardoso well down the field. Piedra was the next guy to have a chance in the break, another missed chance for me. When will it be my time? The profile seemed perfect for the break with a mountain early and a hill just before the finish. Will Piedra attacked on the final hill to escape a bunch sprint to eventually win the stage, I just rode home in the peloton, not trouble at all. The next day was also no trouble at all, with a ending time trial. I took it easy to save myself a bit for the France Nationals because being in a break could mean good finishing position or even a victory. I had a good time in Suisse actually despite the breaking of my top 100 streak but a top 100 position in a stage is
disaster, absolute disaster. I missed my chance to be in the break due getting something to drink when someone from Europcar attacked. If there is one thing you don’t want to do in a national championship, is letting someone from a stronghold team escape. A huge chasing force fell away and FDJ didn’t want to chance alone with AG2R claiming they don’t have a chance against Demare and Bouhanni. Their egos let a gap of 34 minutes with 100 km to go happen. when Sicard finished we had timed gap of over an hour and we were lapped twice. The organizers decide that when we passed the finish line that we weren’t allowed to race on the roads anymore due to the massive gap. A disappointing end to a disappointing day
But what does this mean for the Feunard games.
Nothing, absolutely nothing. We all failed to meet the set race distance and called the result void, I’ll give the current standings anyway for the sake for being consistant

Pietor Furan would like to know where he will be riding in the coming part of the transfer period, or if maybe I should just do it myself? |

Smowz Xeroxix assumes command of Caja Rural
In a short statement Basque business owner Smowz Xeroxix has decided to take over the day to day management of Caja Rural feeling it was important to continue the Basques second team.
I was really concerned with the direction of this team, with much dilution of what I wanted to see from a Basque run team. I don't feel I wish to go with an all Basque personal like Euskatel, but likewise I feel it is important Caja races in the right races to show ourselves.
Smowz also revealed that he had invited some of the currently contracted riders to his offices to talk about future plans.
I do have some issues accomadating Nicky Van Drenthe, he is a good enough rouler, but I do not plan on taking a team up to the Northern Classics this year and I get the distinct impression Nicky is feeling a little homesick here anyhow. It's a sentimental idea but the green jerseys of Caja really have no place on the pave stones.
I can certainly respect the qualities of Pieter Furan who is a far better fit for the team. He and Lasca give us a presence in bunch finishes. As for Pyroli Feunard, he can continue to learn his craft if he wishes though I feel his place would be better going to someone who has a better affinity with the Basque region.
