If my riders don't deliver something soon, it will be safer for you to stay in Colombia

A typical breakaway day. Koeniggsegg defo get a bit of luck there.
Quite pleased Manu Sella kept his powder dry there was nothing to gain there.

Good win for Koenigsegg thinking of the team ranking. Congrats!
Have to continue to hope for some breakaway luck thinking of my own team, but it looks unlikely seeing the riders don't look too happy about chasing the breakaway.
Nice to have a report, looking forward for what's to come after the two flat stages. |

Good ride by Roy to get into the break and then finish 3rd really happy with that from a wildcard team |

Wow nice sprint from Richeze, unfortunately its impossible for him to win a race. It was a super close sprint too, which is always cool.

Superb show from the Red Bull machine. For once Pokerstars are not here to dominate the sprint trains and we delivered ... Fantastic!
Van Stayen has been absolutely brilliant all season, gets near to or on the podium quite often against what I would consider to be faster sprinters (like Goss for example).
This race is turning round for me as Sella fortunately moves slowly up the leaderboard with others misfortune. Pretty typical that a 'boring' flat stage kills off some riders GC fortunes. Very unfortunate.

That was a great train formed by Simply Red Bull, and Van Staeyen finished it off perfect. Shame to see more great climbers crash, especially Henao and Navarro who were very much in the mix considering the GC. |

5th is a good result from Lavoine here, but what really sticks out is the crashes that yet again move some of the favorites far behind. Fothen moves up 5 spots, which clearly indicates that good riders got hit. Chris Anker Sørensen in 10th so far is his best result all season. He has been extremely poor so far, so to see him up there is quite nice. Top 25 must be the goal for him.

Geez, Pinot and Denifl losing time again is really taking a toll on my GC places in this race.
2nd place from Goss is a good solid result, thought he just about had it there!

Another reasonable sprint result for Reynes, hopefully I sneak into a break in the mountains now.

Finally in the breakaway! Must be a good sign for the mountain stages to come |

Would have been nice to double up, but this always looked more for the GC sprinters and VdB does like these ones. Nice little result for Puma and boosts Jurgens GC chances.
Now the big mountains looking for some decisive action.

Great stage for me getting 3rd and 5th, the stage results are helping make up for some disappointing gc results.

Yes yes yes yes
All those downhill finish mountain stages gave me justified hopes of a group sprint win for VDB, but getting it on this flat rated stage is fine too
That really boosts his GC and points jersey chances even further, with only 6 serious GC threats within 1:30 (Sella just outside of that, granted) and a decent advantage of 24 points over the next climber.
If we could drop De la Fuente yet stay with the favourites tomorrow, Jurgen might actually take yellow, which would be an amazing position to start the mountaintop finish stage 8.
I might be overenthusiastic, but this win might be a big step towards another PT year

No way, that was awesome! Amador looks like he may contend for the win here, which is well above my expectations going into it. He needs a buffer to Machado before the big mountains that are coming up, and those bonus seconds helped for sure.

Fothen didn't lose time, Chris Anker didn't lose significant time. I guess that was what I could get from this, although Fothen in attack mode would be nice soon. Don't know if CAS infront of him GC wise is holding him back.

It has been a very successfull race for Brambilla so far, but he had to lose time on the favorites sooner or later. Still, he is sitting nicely in 10th position. Would be extremely pleased if he managed to defend that position.

Nice tactics boys. Henao Montoya will be in for a cheap salary with his current point account, that's a small positive though.
