I guess I might as well ask here, since GTA V is one of the main reasons I'm buying a PS3 in the first place: How much memory space is actually needed on a PS3? I know, that depends on the individual case but in general, is 12GB too little? And do you ever actually use 500?
If you are only getting a PS3 to play GTA5 (probably also online for free) then 12GB might be enough to install the game.
If you don't bother about the Online for free part I don't see a reason why you shouldn't have a look at the XBOX 360. 250GB (probably also with 2 games) for just around 189€. Here I just see PS3s with 12GB for around 269-289€ which is bananas.
I don't know where you're looking but on Amazon, there are 12GB PS3s for 180€ new and 140 used
Anyway, thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll be looking around a bit and then either get a 12GB plus extra hard drive or the 500GB one. There's a bundle with GTA V on Amazon for 300€, maybe that's worth a look.
I assure you a ps3 12gb is enough. That's what I have. 8gb will be mandatory install space required. On 12gb you have 9gb of free space.
If you only will play gta V, ps3 12gb is enough, it would be the biggest marketing mistake if not
Definitely the cheap option!

@ Ian: See, that's the thing: GTA won't be my only game I'm at least equally excited about FIFA14, and the way I know me, I will buy at least one or two more over the course of the next few months But anyway, this is a GTA thread, so we should probably stop at this point. Thanks again @ all for the opinions and tips.

Sorry to stay off-topic here
I don't know if FIFA 14 will be very different from FIFA 13, but 13 held no memory at all, it ran entirely on the disk and only required a few MB for the saves and some minor installation.
But the link CrueTrue gave was very useful, too, not very expensive and easy to do!
ON-TOPIC:
Another good idea to see the map size, from the same maker as the already famous GIF!
Why de-hyping?
Plus i've heard that in Spain some private retailers have broken day one and are already selling the game. So there should be some gamplays of GTA V on youtube but i want to wait the game.
P.S. Other rumors said that Gamestop will break the D1 too start selling from Monday at least here.

People: It's the best game ever. I'll see you all in about a week! Just on the internet to find out where to find scuba-diving gear, because diving is so much fun, amazing physics!
