Just wondering.

couple of my mates say "popo", some "rozza's", etc.
Popo is never used where I live. In fact, I've never heard of it.

Just re-watched the sprints in Qatar. So I decided to check Boonen's excuses, since he always has one when he doesn't win.
Stage Four
"Loddo was on my wheel, he waited for the right moment and then did a good sprint.”
Bullshit. Loddo sprinted at the same time as Boonen only from a bike and a half further back. and he still won.
Stage Five
"The sprint went perfectly until Backstedt touched the wheel of Woulter Weylandt," he stated. "That created a gap and meant that Steven De Jongh was up front with five or six riders. I doubted for a moment if I should go after him, but then I thought that perhaps the others could beat him. I closed the gap, but I waited too long in doing so…I only sprinted for a few metres, then I realised it was too late."
This does contrast somewhat with the footage of the sprint, which showed that Boonen was second wheel to De Jongh at 150 metres to go. Napolitano jumped and was clearly quicker, despite taking a longer line around the last curve. Loddo too got by the Belgian, who appeared to lack some of his usual oomph in the sprint.
Yup, he didn't lose any of his leadout. Napolitano and Loddo were just faster. Loddo would've won if Boonen hadn't swung into him, almost making him crash.
I have nothing against Boonen per se, and he is clearly a very talented sprinter, definitely faster than Napolitano in most of the stages, but the constant excuses piss me off
And Loddo needs to learn to position himself well. If he was as well positioned as Boonen was in the sprints, he'd have won 4 out of 5

The route of Tirreno Adriatico was announced today:
12/03: Civitavecchia-Civitavecchia: 160 km
13/03: Civitavecchia-Gubbio: 203 km
14/03: Gubbio-Montelupone: 195 km
15/03: Porto Recanati-Civitanova Marche: 167 km
16/03: Macerata-Recanati (time trial): 26 km
17/03: Civitanova Marche-Castelfidardo: 196 km
18/03: Circuit San Benedetto del Tronto: 176 km
This is what CyclingNews wrote about the route:
RCS Sport has announced the parcours of the 43rd edition of the Corsa dei Due Mari, Tirreno-Adriatico. The race, organised by the same company that handles the Giro d'Italia and Milano-Sanremo, will consist of seven stages as it travels from west to east across Italy March 12 - 18.
The 2008 edition of the race will follow the traditional parcours in the east to west direction from Mar Tirreno to Mar Adriatico, clocking 1123 kilometres along the way. Tirreno-Adriatico – won in 2007 by Andreas Klöden – offers an alternative to those not riding in the Paris-Nice, March 9 to 16, and a 'warm-up' to the Milano-Sanremo, March 22. Overall, it is a race that respects the riders' early season form, with stages for sprinters and all-arounders.
Stage one kicks off in Civitavecchia and the finale is the traditional lungomare sprint stage in San Benedetto del Tronto. The organisers included an individual time trial for the third year in a row on stage five, previously the 'race of truth' had been absent from the event for some time. This year's test will run 26 kilometres from Macerata to Recanati.
Full stage details and the much anticipated list of invited teams will be revealed on February 21 in Civitavecchia (Lazio)
I haven't found any profiles yet, though.
The invitations for Paris-Nice will be announced on the 13th of Feb.

Saturday night street party anchors full weekend of events surrounding the Amgen Tour of California.
When the racing stops, the party starts at the “Rock the Bike” expo and music festival. On Saturday February 23rd, the City of Santa Clarita along with Westfield Valencia Town Center and H3 Publications, producers of Road Magazine and decline Magazine, will present Rock the Bike, a Saturday night cycling industry expo and music festival featuring top performing artists the Gin Blossoms.
Rock the Bike will immediately follow the Stage 6 finish of the Amgen Tour of California and will be located outside the north side of Westfield Valencia Town Center near the finish line activities. The official hours of the Rock the Bike festival is from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Rock the Bike is just one in a series of events surrounding the prestigious cycling race. All events are free and open to the public.
The Gin Blossoms took the music world by storm in the 1990’s with smash hits “Hey Jealousy” and “Allison Road” and have since been a top drawing stage act. The Gin Blossoms will headline a full night of live music and entertainment.
So, can anyone tell me if I can see this somewhere?

Never heard of the Gin Blossoms but speaking of California...
Part of An E-Mail from my coach
We have been invited to the Team High Road Presentation.
In Palo Alto on the 15th. Phill Ligget will be presenting the entire team. Cav, Wiggings, HIncapie, Boasson Hagen, Ciolek, Rogers even the womens team.
Of course I have to work that day and since its in Palo Alto I probably can't get there and back in time.

Subculture? Are you crazy? It wasn't a sub-culture back in the 90's when they were on top of the charts
Anyway, Kurtin .. I'm so happy to finally see someone who knows about them

please tell me that was sarcasm or that you're very very drunk. I thought it was pretty obvious what I meant:
It's extremely normal and run-of-the-mill for a band to be huge in some places and unknown in others. There are absolutely no bands that are well known in every single country. none whatsoever.
EDIT:
Wait...why are we talking about this in this thread?
"Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!"
Langkawi is about to start and stage 2 of the Étoile de Bessèges is today.
