Hi, everybody who is reading my blog. You've probably heard about the terrorist attack at our hotel yesterday evening, and I'm not going to tell you more about it. Not because I don't want to, but we follow the advise of the police. Instead, I'll tell you everything about the restday. Of course, there was a lot of media attention to us, but I somehow managed to escape from that. I went on a traning ride with my team-mates Bouet and Riblon, talking about our plans for the mountain jersey. We have some new tactics, which we're not going to reveal. After we got back, a wave of journalist came to us, but thank god the security stopped them. Tomorrow brings us another mountain stage, with points available. We will show us there.
The stage after the first restday is immediately a tough one. With the first HC-mountain today, we might see a new polka dot wearer.
RACE
104km to go
No, you are not seeing double. Indeed, there are 2 AG2R-riders in the break today, Bouet and Gadret. They form today's break together with O'Grady, Fröhlinger, Malacarne, Astarloza and De Marchi, who is their main concurrent for the mountain jersey.
97km to go
And they're doing a good job. Maxime is doing the work at the front, which causes De Marchi, O'Grady and Malacarne to lose contact with the front group. Gadret finishes the job and wins the first mountain sprint, with Bouet in second place.
60km to go
Here's the AG2R-corner in the peleton. Peraud, Bardet, Dupont and me. My task today was to carry the bottles, but when this picture was taken, Riblon decided to do it for once. I'm the guy next to the yellow jersey, who asked me about the current situation in the team.
41km to go
Strange things happened on the Grand Colombier. At the foot, Frohlinger couldn't follow the pace. In the middle, some semi-favourites like Quintana, Mollema and Martin attacked and joined the 3 men in front. Gadret did manage to win the mountain sprint, with Bouet in third. He is now the virtual leader there. The real favourites attacked near the top, including Peraud.
18km to go
We are in some woods and the helicopter can't get a good shot at the current situation. This is a small summary given by Radio-Tour:
E1: Quintana (mountain sprint winner)
E2: Valverde (47 seconds behind Contador in the GC), Van den Broeck, Rodriguez (+ '27 to E1)
E3: Moreno (+ '48 to E1)
E4: Yellow-jersey Contador (+ '32 to E2, + '59 to E1)
E5: Martin, Mollema, Klöden (+ 1'07 to E1)
E6: Peraud, Froome (2nd at '6), Evans (3th at '15), Hesjedal (5th at 1'22), Voeckler, Schleck, Rolland, Anton, white-jersey Pinot (+ 1'00 to E2, + 1'27 to E1)
E7: Gadret
E8: Group with Gesink (+ 1'59 to E1)
Peleton with Bardet, Dupont, Bouet (+ 2'19 to E1)
A4: Group with Riblon (bad day) and me (+ 2'48 to P)
0m to go
Almost all groups in front merged, which lead to a big favourites-group of 27 riders. Contador shows that he can't be beaten in his yellow jersey. He wins the stage ahead of Schleck and Rodriguez. Peraud was completely empty in the final kilometers, and finishes 27th. Dupont and Bardet are in the group behind them. Everybody made it today.

MY COMMENTS
YAY! We have the mountain jersey back! But now, the hardest part of it. We need to defend it in a stage with 2 HC-mountains. That's going to be hard
--Blel
MANAGER'S COMMENTS
Peraud was empty, with no energy left to sprint. Therefore, he lost some time. But, no big worries. We will now focus on the mountain jersey again.
The tactics went well yesterday. And with a lot of points available today, we might repeat it today.
RACE
99km to go
And the first points are in the pocket! Riblon and Gadret were our best riders today, so they went into the break. Christophe sets a high pace, which means Lutsenko has to go, and John grabs the points.
79km to go
The only rider who could follow them is Trofimov, and as a gift, he may have the intermediate sprint. My work is the exact same as yesterday, carrying water bottles.
55km to go
Today's second HC-mountain is again for Gadret. Feillu did manage to come back on the downhill, but was dropped again at the Col de la Croix Fer. Moreno attacked out of the peleton, with me still inside it.
35km to go
But some speed was necessary for a second category mountain. Moreno joined the break, and Gadret gave everything to win the mountain sprint. Riblon's job is done. He is almost empty. I dropped from the peleton, but our 3 main riders (Peraud, Bardet, Dupont) are still in it. Other semi-favourites also attacked, like Klöden and Danielson.
0m to go
And Moreno hangs on at the front and wins the stage! Van den Broeck is second and Froome is third. He gains a few seconds on Contador, but fails to take over the yellow jersey. Peraud and Dupont cross the line about three minute later, which means JC drops out the top-20. Bardet couldn't hang on, and will finish 9 minutes later and drop to 6th in the youth classification.
The bus came after the time-limit today, and are not allowed to start tomorrow. Important names: Goss, Kittel and Bouhanni. Luckily for us, my team-mates Dumoulin and Minard were one group ahead.

MY COMMENTS
Team perspective: mixed stage. We scored a lot of mountain points, but JC and Romain couldn't follow the favourites.
My perspective: Carrying water bottles is an important task. And I finished 100th today, which means Lieven van Gils will talk to me tomorrow
--Blel
Spoiler
For those who don't know Lieven van Gils, he (almost) always interviewed the 100th of yesterday's stage before the next stage, as part of Vive le Velo on the Belgian television
MANAGER'S COMMENTS
Gadret is comfortably in the mountain jersey, and we can now regain some energy for the Pyrennees. A shame about Peraud, but he isn't our main priority.
Hi, everybody who is reading my blog. So, we're halfway through this year's Tour de France. A nice moment to check how things are going. My team (AG2R) had 3 goals before this Tour, let's see if we're on schedule to accomplish them: Top-15 GC; Peraud is 21th, but he can still improve his position. Polka dot jersey; We have it now Be in the break; 8/10 stages, which is 80%. Good enough for AG2R.
Let's see how my team-mates are doing: Jean-Christophe Peraud; Our leader, but 21th is a little bit dissapointing. He can still improve, though. Hubert Dupont; JC's main domestique, who does his job very well. That 28th in the GC is a nice bonus for his hard labour. Romain Bardet; Went into a break in the first mountain stage, which resulted in a good position in the GC. He even held the white jersey for 1 day, but dropped to 6th now. Which is still better as we thought. Christophe Riblon; Dissapointing GC-position, but he played a big role in John's mountain jersey. Maxime Bouet; The first mountain jersey wearer, but lost it thanks to me. But, he didn't mind. He would have lost it anyway. A good bottle-carrier now. John Gadret; Crashes in the first week caused him to lose a lot of time, but that gave him green light to go for the mountain jersey. And guess who has it now? Samuel Dumoulin; Some good sprints. Not fantastic, but not bad either. He finishes every mountain stage within time, which is important. Sébastien Minard; Good domestique for Samuel, but not good when it goes uphill. But, he finishes inside the time-limit, which is good.
So, how about my Tour?
My worst moment came in the third stage, when I failed to gain mountain points to defend the jersey for Maxime. I disappeared, but was found later. I recovered, went into another break, and scored some points. And carrying watter bottles is fun! I'm currently preparing myself for Lieven van Gils. I'm thinking what questions he might ask me, ans I asked some advise to our Media specialist. I want to give a good impression tomorrow.
@Ian Butler - He's very excited!
@sutty68 - Indeed, but we're only halfway. Anything can happen
@Daggen - I think he read this and decided to do the same
Okay, this story will take a little break due to technical difficulties. It will (hopefully) continue, but that could take some days. The reason is my laptop. About a week ago, my laptop gave messages like: 'Consider replacing the battery'. Before that, my laptop was already empty after 15 minutes without charger. Today, my laptop gave the following message: 'Battery is not charging', which means my laptop is about to die. I already looked around the internet etc. for a new laptop, and I'll probably buy one very soon now (or my parents could give it as my birthday present the 24th). I'm very sorry, but I hope this can continue.
Selwink wrote:
As long as you keep plugging your laptop to electricity, it will still work (I have exactly the same thing). I would still advise a new battery though
Yeah, I know (it stays at 94% here), but my laptop is 3 years old now and has not so good performances. So, I think it needs a replacement
