Andy can win the tour THIS year.

are you from luxembourg?
let's see what happened to the last few guys who got podiums in their first ever grand tours, shall we?
I can't be bothered to go back before 2000, but since 2000 the guys who did that, all have a combined grand total of 4 GT podiums between them. that's a podium in each of their first GT. and nothing else. none more after that. generally that just means one period of awesome form and a big descent. about half the prospects who make a big impact turn out to be average riders.
so let's take it easy with Mr. Schleck and give him time. If he can't even beat Di Luca, he'll need time before he might be able to compete for the Grand Tours. and that's just the mountains. in the time trials he's very weak.
so don't be too hasty to jump the gun

I wouldn't say that Andy Schleck is very weak in time trialling. He's, for example, much better than his brother, Frank Schleck. |

I don't see that. how do you come to that conclusion?

That true, I don't remember the results, but I think he might be better in TT than Di Luca, and I watched the Monte Zoncolan stage, he looked very good, but I don't think he can compete against guys like Contador.

For example, Andy won the time trial national championship in 2005.
Honestly, I don't know much about Andy, but one of the things I have heard is that he's not as bad at time trialling as some of the other GC-captains at CSC's team (Sastre, F. Schleck, ...). |

Starting List for that Race:
Professionals - 18.04 km
1 Andy Schleck (Team CSC/ACC Contern) 22.45.65
yeah, that's the entire list

well, my honest opinion is: I have no idea why anyone would've said that other than being severely misinformed. all I can say is he will be better because he's younger, but right now he's worse.
But don't get me wrong. I didn't mean very weak overall. I meant very weak compared to the level required to win the Tour.

I don't see Andy as a competetent time trialler yet. His best TT was in the Giro field were not almost none TT-stars compete....
He needs time to grow. |

imo beating Nibali and Ignatiev in a TT isn't too bad...but I also think you shouldn't be too hasty with him. Look what happened to Lövkvist, riding the tour at the age of 19 or something...

you can't look at a time trial at the end of a three-week race. the riders are all very tired, but when you're a stage racer you train specifically to be consistent. Time trial specialists usually don't do very well at all after the mountains.

... and Rock Racing once again makes the headlines. This time, the rumours say that Landis will join the team as DS. |

Not very surprisingly, Rabobank today announced that Boogerd will also be a part of the team next season - just not as a rider. His new function was not revealed, though. |
