I think Quintana should stay on Purito's wheel and jump whenever he does, Purito's in good shape and everything is set so he can advance more positions in the GC, well Mollema's one since he seems to be struggling.
I think Kreuziger should speculate and stay closer to Froome, given he can deliver big WT points for Saxo; let Alberto on his own with whatever help the rest of Saxo can give.

My pick is Purito, I think that like in 2011 there is more fireworks on the climbs before the finish. Also I think that Ten Dam falls out of the top ten, while Mollema moves closer to the podium.

Whats the chances of Quintana hanging with Froome to the end and Froome gives Quintana the win? |

90% chance of rain. The weather can completely turn this race upside down on one descent...

Given how greedy Froome seems to be, I'd say 10%.

The same as the chances it doesn't rain for the next week in all of Europe. Maybe I'm a little off, but, you know...

If Froome doesn't want to descend as I've read, then why doesn't he just jump in the team car to the bottom. I mean, sure its illegal and blatantly obvious cheating but hey, his fanboys will be able to defend him in the face of mounting evidence. And then Sky will tell everyone that he lost both his legs a few years ago, and that explains his excuse from descending. |

"Glandor", that almost sound like "glandeur" (lazy ass) with Luis Fernandez accent.
I've climbed a couple of cat. 1 and HC, and I've done Alpe d'Huez. It's not so hard overall, but the first 2 or 3 km are among the toughest ones you could think of. They shatter the field, and as any ascent had always been a mountain finish, it really deserved a HC.
Now, that being said, bar the bottom and 1 km that's located more or less from 4 to 3 km to the finish, it's not really that hard. All in all, it's probably close to the border between cat. 1 and HC. Rather low HC though.
It's HC because it's always at the end of a stage, I reckon. That matters, too. (Pla d'Adet is also HC. If it was at the start of the stage, impossible though, it would be 1st.) |

This does have an influence, and you're possibly correct with respect to Pla d'Adet (though it can be considered a low HC and it's not incorrect imo). But Alpe d'Huez is always a HC:

It's weird, but this forum has gone from "OMG twice Alpe d'Huez is too hard, the riders will die!!!!!111" and I defending that it's not so hard, to people saying it's not worth of the HC category, and I saying that's not the case. Sigh.

Quitana to go later today and take the stage, Contador to take his place with an early, entertaining, comendable but ultimately futile attack.
Also full stage coverage is on \o/ |

Saxo-Tinkoff certainly keen on a getting at least one rider in the breakaway. First Michael Rogers, and now Hernandez has attacked off the front.
Could be in for an even higher tempo beginning. |

Its not that he doesn't want to descend. He doesn't want to do the descent if he hammering it down with rain. In the dry is a very tricky, challanging downhill but its fine. Its dangerous if your really silly, but its ok.
If it rains, its a death trap. Personally, I think I've seen enough people die in bike races on downhills tbh. Don't need or want to see another Wouter Weylandt to be honest. |
