Chris: I'm the better time-trialist. I will win! Besides, Contador must be really tired now.
What a performance from the local cyclist! He is still in the competition. He starts the time-trial today before Alberto Contador and Chris Froome do so.
Contador starts right after him in his green jersey.
And Froome is the last one to start.
Contador sets a time at the first split of 18 minutes and 4 seconds. We will see if that's faster as Froome
Here he is approaching the split. His time: 18 minutes and...........7 seconds! 3 seconds slower as Contador. The current gap in the GC is just 1 second!
Contador's time at the second split is 37 minutes and 52 seconds. What will the Brit do?
Chirs Froome needed to ride faster, otherwise he's losing his jersey. But he didn't, the gap is 10 seconds now, which means the Spaniard is the virtual leader now!
Contador passed the local cyclist just before the finish. The Spaniards time is: 55 minutes and 56 seconds. Froome needs to ride a time under 56 minutes to keep his yellow jersey!
Chirs Froome gives everything he has left to defend his jersey, but to no avail. He is 12 seconds slower at the finish, in a time of 56 minutes and 8 seconds, which means he has to give his jersey to Alberto Contador!
