Today it's the first hilly stage in Mallorca. It is really hilly, and today I'll help Contador to gain some time to his opponents. For me, this is a great opportunity to show off, but with these riders in the peleton, it won't be easy
Because of all the mountain points, we sent Tosatto with his climbing jersey to the BOTD. He won the first mountain sprint, at the 10 km left mark.
But in the pack, Nicki had fallen, but he got up quickly. Tosatto won the both the sprints, but took no mountain points. Up Col de Sa Batalla, Navarro attacked. He was joined by Sella, Garzelli and Moncoutie.
Up the next climb, the results were not clear before the top. Garzelli was with 15 sec to Maderel and 47 sec to Group Navarro.
In the bottom of the climb, Garzelli had a 1'30 lead to the pack and 30 sec to Mederel. It was only four Saxo riders in the pack, me, Tosatto, Contador and Navarro.
Up the last categorized climb, Contador decided to pull hard. He was going so hard that he got away from the pack.
Up the 21% part of the climb, Contador was 30 sec ahead off the peleton, and 51 sec behind Garzelli. At the top of the short climb, Contador were 30 sec behind Garzelli, and 45 sec in front of the pack.
In the downhill, Costa fell. I didn't notice much about it.
When we were heading up the last climb, I was together with Navarro, and we could spot all ahead of us.
In the front, Contador was going solo, just before Bruseghin.
At the top of the climb, I was still in the group together with Navarro, and Contador was leading with 13 sec to Bruseghin and 1 min to my group.
Contador were leading in the final descent, it was his to win, I hoped.
Contador won it!! After over 20 km solo rideing!! A real strength show off by him, while I finished together with Navarro in the bunch behind
Today it's the stage in Mallorca. From Inca to Inca, we in Saxo are going to defend Contador's jersey. If he feels good, he can also try to gain some more time
Two riders was in the break, and we were controlling the pack. After about 40 km, we got to know what M. Iglinsky had given up.
In the first half of the race, I was working as a water carrier.
The peleton entered the real climb 7 min behind the break.
I felt great, so I decided to attack. Contador joined me. He worked really hard, I was struggling to keep up wit him. But, I lost him. He was joined by Moncoutie.
At the top of the hill the peleton was completely divided. Koren(3'58 behind Contador) and Rubiano had a 3 min lead to Contador, which had 30 sec to Moncoutie, which had 20 sec to a group of favourites. I was 40 sec off that group, together with some really strong riders.
With 10 km left, Contador was 1 min behind Koren and Rubiano, and 20 sec in front of the group with Navarro. I was 1'30 behind that group again
In the downhill with 5,5 km left, Contador caught the leaders. Behind him, Scarponi attacked.
Contador was driving 100% down the hill, so he lost the sprint to Koren and Rubiano
I came 2 minutes behind
. But sadly for Contador, the whole Navarro group had caught him, so he didn't gain more time to them, even he tried, just to end with style.
Besides the yellow jersey, Contador took the green jersey with 1 point to Oss.

I was so close to the youth jersey! This is really annoying me!! I am going to feel bad because I didn't give a little extra at the end, but it probably hadn't worked anyway. My first race was a walk on sunshine, but now it feels, not bad, but wrong. I haven't really felt things against me on cycling yet. I will try to train it away.
It was probably well done by me this, but I am reaching for the stars
