 TOUR DE SAN LUIS 2013
Stage 05: Juana Koslay - Carolina

Hello and Welcome Ladys and Gentlemen. This is going to be a selecting stage of the race. With this steep climb it's the perfect spot for attacks on the GC. Especially Movistar and IAM will most likely have to attack, there's not much time left for them if they want to take the GC from Velits (OPQ). Let's see how it goes.
The morning went rather quiet. The breakaway never was a real threat and everybody waited for the big climb. Thta's where the attacks came. However the early attacks didn't matter much as they couldn't get away from the peloton.
At 20 km to and a high pace the peloton shrinked.

On top of the climb the situation stayed the same. And with just 10 km to go it looked like it'll be another sprint finish in the end.

And it was. But would be Haussler fit enough to bring home another vicotry? The climb probably took its toll on him... And it did. Today, he couldn't compete with the best and only finished as 19th.

 TOUR DE SAN LUIS 2013
Stage 06: Quines - Mirador del Sol

Welcome to day 6 in Argentina. Today is probably the last day for any serious attacks. We'll see if Velits (OPQ) and his temamates can defend their orange jersey today.
It's looking good for IAM Cycling at the moment with Haussler in 2nd and Larsson and Léöfkvist within reach of the podium as well.
Nothing much happened during the morning. Omega Pharma - Quick-Step stayed in control, set the pace and let the peleton together with Saxo-Tinkoff.

5 Km to go... An Attack by Paulinho (TST) and Amador (MOV)! Löfkvist quickly follows them. And so does Velits (OPQ) with Haussler on his back wheel.

1.3 Km to go. Both Haussler and Löfkvist keep holding on. Lökvist should attack now if he wants any chance on the Tour vicotry. But it seems like he's barely holding on. Haussler on the other hand may win it tomorrow with just 19'' behind Velits (OPQ).

But Velits is well aware of that. And with just 1 Km to go he launches his final sprint... If he's on the podium today he most likely won the tour...

Nobody is able to follow him... And they finish 49'' behind. Looks like Velits (OPQ) won the Tour de San Luis 2013. What could possibly go wrong tomorrow...

Well, looks like I'll have to settle for 2nd. Velits was just too strong in the last 2 stages... |

 TOUR DE SAN LUIS 2013
Stage 07: San Luis - Juana Koslay

Welcome to the last day of the tour San Luis 2013 and let's get right into it!
As usual, the breakaway never got too far ahead thanks to IAM Cycling taking control of todays pace in the peloton.
6 Km to go, it looks like it's going to be another mass sprint. IAM Cycling is setting up their sprint train for Haussler. And so do the other Teams. But wait a minute... Attack by Löfkvist! He's giving it his all. Now it's just push and hope for the best!

With just 1 Km to go the sprinters just move too fast. Haussler didn't get the perfect start for this sprint. Will he still be able to win his third race this season?

No! It's Simon (SOJ) who wins it. Another close finish today. And Haussler comes in 3rd.

All in all it was a good tour for IAM Cycling with 2 vicotries, several top 10 finishes, places 2 and 4 in the GC, 2nd in mountains and points and winning the team trophy.

Yay! Finished my first tour
I must say it takes a lot longer writing the story as I go, but it's fun as well. And with the time I'm sure I'll be faster as well
Quite happy with Haussler, a bit dissapointed that Löfkvist couldn't keep up with Velits.
Tried my best to get him on the podium with my attack, but it was probably a bit too far out. |

You should have gone for the bonus seconds. Anyway nice race for Team A. I assume Team C will now enter into the field in France? |

Bienvenue a Marseille!
Let's see how IAM Cycling will do today.
And off we go!
At the very first Kms a breakaway formed of finally 4 guys consisting of Bouyer (EUC), Aregger, Sprick (ARG) and Rabon (OPQ).

With just 20 Km to go the gap closes slowly but steadily. The breakaway still works well together though and keeps on fighting to make it.

At the end it wasn't enough and the peloton closed the gap.
But IAM has another trick up their sleeves. Elmiger attacks with just a little over 3 km to go.

But at the end the sprinters caught him with just a couple hundred meters to go. At the end Kreder (GRS) wins the sprint.

exactly.
I was worried that Löfkvist wouldn't be able to strint for the win, so I decided to try it further out.
In Argentina the attack was too far away, in France too close to the end... Well, third time's a charm, right? |
