If i had to guess, i would say Cobo. Don't ask me why, but he always seemed very suspicous to me. |

Menchov is my guess. Or Basso.
I doubt Cobo would be riding the Giro if it was him.

Good point. Yes, Menchov or Basso seems likely. |

Also I'm predictably very curious as to who the secret pro is. If the intro to the blog is right then we looking for an old, experienced hand, someone use their superior knowledge to give me a few names
"He is a Pro within the ranks of the top teams in world cycling. He has raced multiple Grand Tours, Classics and World Championships, and finished highly in some. We can also tell you that he will be frank and up-front with his opinions and views."
If you read his two entries so far, he's given a hell of a lot away. If you can be bothered, it should be quite easy to work out who it is.
I cannot be bothered

I can be bothered when at work
Could be a few red herrings thrown in, though you could be pretty blatant and still say "not me mate". |

A quick read through says he started TDU, Amstel and Turkey (at least).
WT-teams in Turkey: Astana, Blanco, Lampre, Lotto, QuickStep, Orica, Argos, Saxo - Tinkoff.
Edit 1: No Astana riders in all three races. Guardini, Guarnieri, Kasheshkin and Seeldrayers in two
Edit 2: No Blanco riders in all three. Brown, Renshaw and Tanner featured in two.
Edit 3: No Lampre riders in all three. Favilli, Mori and Pietropilli featured in two
Edit 4: No Lotto rides in all three. Greipel, Hansen and Kaisen in two.
- No QuickStep riders in all three. Fenn, Pauwels, Rabon and P. Velits in two
- For Orica Clarke, Gerrans and Impey have ridden two of the three races
- For Argos Timmer and De Kort have both ridden all three (De Kort hav been denied in teh comments section of the blog) and Kittel has raced two.
- For Saxo - Tinkoff Jay McCarthy have ridden all three. Sutherland, Miyazawa, Kump, Cantwell and Juul Jensen have ridden two
So main suspects at this point are: Timmer, McCarthy and De Kort.
Cycling tips have in the comments section said: However, I’ve read the forums and am quite confident that nobody is even close to guessing who TSP is. The only thing I’ll say is that it’s not Koen de Kort.
As for their description of the secret pro:
He has raced multiple Grand Tours, Classics and World Championships, and finished highly in some
McCarthy has no GT's on his palmares...
But then Timmer is riding the Giro, which mean he isn't focusing purely on the Tour...
Re-reading the blog I'm not sosure anymore that he actually raced in Turkey or just has rumourd from there.

He rode Paris - Roubaix as well, and will (probably) ride the Tour. That's what he said on an earlier blog...

Also, the Top Gear reference on the twitter Page hint at a British person or at least a someone from the former Empire.

Had that feeling, since he paid special attention to the Tour of California & (a bit) Tour Down Under, praising the atmosphere etc.

And talking about the commentators on English Eurosport (though thair feed is how I see most cycling as well and I'm ot British).
We'll see how my list turns out and compare that to teh Roubaix startlist (think Sanremo as well, but he wasn't quite as clear on that in my feeling)

Re-reading the blog I'm not sosure anymore that he actually raced in Turkey or just has rumourd from there.
I've got the feeling it's Tyler Farrar. Turkey doesn't fit, but he doesn't say he rides Turkey.
Problem is that Ferrar didn't ride Amstel.
Rest all fits, also talking about California, being Experienced etc.
So it'll probably won't be him, unless he didn't state that he rode Amstel.
Any chance you can make a list of TDU + Amstel + PR + Scheduled for TDF + Experienced rider + (Former) English (Colony)?

It's been revealed before he's australian
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

Mathew Hayman rode them all, and is experienced, and is from a former-British country(and is Australian)
He doesn't ride Giro, and I guess he'll ride Tour. Amstel is his only hilly classic this year, just like he says on his blog.
Got our guy?

No, it's not. Someone could post a reaction on the site, and look if they deny it or not(I'm pretty sure that they won't confirm it if you're right )
I did

Even if you get to know who he is, maybe it's not the smartest thing to do to make it public.
That'd flatter your ego, but what'd it lead to ? Possible problems for the rider and then he'd stop posting new entries. |

I don't want to make it public, I'm trying to estimate the value of the given information. Anyone can say they're a rider and start blaming people of things. It'd be nice to know where the information is coming from, that's all |

That's true, thought about that later.
Anyway, can't delete my posts over there, that's just not possible at that site.
And it would be guessed by someone else anyway(If it's true ofc), so many guys guessing over there...
