That looks like the toughest of the Asian groups for the Aussies but I expect theyll get through.

"Portugal plays a similar game to Spain and as such has a good group of players. The difference is that they have a better defence. It's boring to face Denmark again."

Well-deserved critism, unfortunately
Let's hope that Morten Olsen will leave his job and coach Belgium instead. |

Group 2 Greece, Israel, Switzerland, Moldova, Latvia, Luxembourg
are you kidding me?
bunch of greek-lovers at the FIFA..
Pretty good draw for the Netherlands. I don't fear (s)nor(e)way or scotland (even though they beat France) even with van basten

So after having a closer look, better then I expected. The attackers are not good, so as long as we can control there midfield ( Linderoth can't be injured ) we should have a decent chance
Goalkeeper - somebody help us
Right Fullback - take your pick. two very good, one world class
Left Fullback - if Caneira plays, crap. hopefully one of the right fullbacks plays here
Two Center-Backs - Best in the world. no question. and this coming from someone who tends to understate his national team.
Defensive Midfielder - if Petit plays, meh. average. if young Veloso gets the place (which seems likely), we'll have a great shot at the title.
Central Midfielder - Maniche when on form is our best player by quite a margin. hopefully he'll be on form then.
Attacking Midfielder - Deco is inconsistent, but offensively only about 15 players in the world have his offensive ability. none of those have the ability to be a great defensive player. which is what makes him unique and in the words of Barça's Laporta, Rijkaard and several players: "the best player in the world" (not that he is. they just want to make the point that he's heavily underestimated by the masses)
Wingers - if they're on form, god help you
Striker (singular) - crap

try this:
"as long as we can put in crosses to test their goalkeepers' horrible ability at dealing with them" Who was that right back at euro 2004? Miguel? He is indeed world class, stopped Arjen Robben in topform (without ballerina skills like he has now) easily.. he's fast |

he's benched right now. Bosingwa is in better form. plus Bosingwa is much faster. I've seen Bosingwa completely dust Henry for pace several times in a row, so that should tell you how fast he is
but when both are on form, Miguel is much better

yes thanks to Van Basten offensive plan
it will never be 6-0 as long as Van Basten is our coach, 1-0 okay, 2-0 with some luck but never 6-0

Bullshit Justin
Normally players like Van Nistelrooy, Vd vaart and sneijder don't miss the easy chances they got in last EC quals. The reason they didn't score can't be van basten...
Van Nistelrooy should've scored at least 3 against Luxemburg, but he somehow decided to suck and miss that day... for instance.
Against the small countries I think 'we' were just unlucky, against the 'big' (romania ffs ) countries we sucked due to van basten |

Sucky goalkeeper, is not even playing in his club, so he's out of form every day in the entire year.
Left back: Nicklas Jensen
Costs at least one goal pr. match
... Oh, wait, this is not any fun.
That's only because he critisized Martin O'Neil for loaning in Scott Carson. It isn't because he's crap, just because he has a bad attitude and was therefore dropped.

Nah, it will never be 6-0 again.
Scotland have got a LOT better since then and from what I understand by posts on this forum, Holland have got slightly worse.

It would seem you have something known as the England syndrome - Lampard at the World Cup took it to a new level |

So, Denmark once again messed up yesterday. Played against sucky Hungary who actually - in terms of 100 % chances - deserved to win. The defenders of Denmark made sooo many mistakes, and only because Hungary sucks so much, we didn't lose (0-0). Portugal will hammer us on Wednesday |

Actually Portugal is still getting used to playing together, now that players who actually are good and deserve it are called up instead of Scolari's bitches.

Die Lagerbäck! We play 0-0 against Albania and let them create the best chances and he's satisfied?!
I don't get Lagerbäck, he have some good players to call up but instead he choose average Allsvenskan players And you can't play 3-5-2 with only 2 good central defenders.
WHY?! Why does he always play Daniel "Sideways" Andersson I just don't get it. And always benching Sebastian Larsson, out best winger by far.
This is Lagerbäck logic:
Chooses a midfielder that plays in an average Swedish club (Sideways, Malmö FF) instead of a regular at Ajax (Rasmus Lindgren)
Plays a 3-5-2 when Sweden only have 2 good CD's (Mellberg,Hansson). MAJSTOROVIC AINT A FOOTBALL PLAYER!
Plays two wing backs (Nilsson,Wendt) in midfield instead of wingers (S. Larsson, Ishizaki).
This is how Sweden should play:
Isaksson
Stoor - Mellberg - Hansson - Edman (When he's ready)
Linderoth - Lindgren
Larsson - Källström - Chippen
Ibrahimovic
It's time to let Daniel Andersson, Anders "Taco" Svensson and Henrik Larsson quit the national team. Andersson shouldn't have played a single game but still he's always Lagerbäck's pet.
Let these youths get the chance:
Viktor Elm (Kalmar)
Rasmus Lindgren (Ajax)
Stefan Ishizaki (Elfsborg)(Isn't even a youth anymore. Been the best player in Allsvenskan for 3 years and still doesn't get the chance)
Marcus Berg (Gröningen)
Per Nilsson (Hoffenheim)
Peter Larsson (FC Kobenhavn)
Samuel Holmén (Bröndby)
Dusan Djuric (Zürich) |
