Vanderbiest is completely on his own so a podium is a good result. Every bonus second can be crucial.

With such weak core to help him, I thought Lo Cicero wouldn't stand a chance against the mighty Pokerstars and Puma-trains, but he proves himself to be good enough against premium opposition. I hope he will continue like this in HC, though it's hard to say how good he would be in a bit more hilly terrain.
Boonen is a real beast!! |

Wow, Boonen beast supported by mighty train is unleashed and is smashing opposition right from the start. Congrats Pokerstars, will he make at least 4from5 or even every sprint stage?
Great reports from the desert so far, even sprints can be enjoyable.
Nice job from LoCicero also, to show that PCT rider can be good at higher level. I hope he will drop on speedbumps at our level though.

Sokolov keeps getting bonus seconds, and i'm actually really happy with that. I'll let mb win the least mentioned team award .

There is a report about Lotto - Cervélo that the team manager went with everyone into the team bus saying "Staying in the bus: Ciolek, Stauff, Vanaerderen and Croket. Everyone else: leave the bus" and some very loud german stuff almost like at the film Downfall

Nice stage, as it ended up quite different. Bet Puma didn't see that coming, but I guess they won't mind who brings home the bacon

That's why I love Qatar. Nice. I guess both Puma and Pokerstars (and Milka) will be happy today.
And Rin: great stuff

While I would have massively preferred if Bennati stayed in Kvists wheel and took the win himself, I must admit that is one of the nicer possible outcomes of that weird situation
Still, while that means we maybe finish 4th and 5th instead of 3rd and 28th, I know which one I like more.
Bennati definitely needs 20 seconds in the next two stages.

That was just so wrong... Well done by Kvist who spent a year at my team also!
Bernaudeau in 10th levelling the best result from Guerao. I could have hoped for something more from this race though...

These weird sprints always happen when it`s extremely windy.
Boonen looks too strong for losing the GC I think. Bennati would need to win the next 2 stages and he might have a small chance.
And finally Bewley with a better performance. |

That win should give Kvist an overall top 5, well done to him and Puma.
Nice to see Haedo active in the breakaway, though, it's a shame he is terrible in prologues. To pick up anything in the GC, we'll need Zrimsek to win a couple of intermediate sprints in a breakaway. At best that's unlikely to happen, meaning I'll take anything we get from this race, like Haedo's 12 bonus seconds
And it was incredibly nice to see Vanoverschelde in 6th! Way better than expected, and a pleasant surprise
Good reporting as well, kumazan.

Really good stage that one - when it's windy it can really take it out of some riders in the finale.
Looked like Bennati stuck his nose in the wind and wiped him out. No such probs for Kvists though.... |

A strange one there, but again probably good news for Cancellara in terms of overtaking riders in the TT.
Two more stages, kinda hope they continue to be windy some hope of one or two of the guys who gained time bonuses to be dropped.

What a brilliant tactics from Puma, everyone watched out of Bennati and let Kvist to sneak out from peloton and achive his biggest (or first?) win in career!!
I cannot be unhappy with 2nd today, giving Boonen even more comfortable lead. Pity Holloway couldn´t be a bit faster, few bonus seconds would be great.
And Bewley finally showed some effort, what a surprise

Now that was fun (when you are not present to fail).
I like these weird stages in the desert and Puma played that very well, knowing that Bennati is not on his best day and opponents will rather watch him than Vedel-Kvist. Congrats Cio.
