2013 National Championships

Really looking forward to Belgian NC.
Should be a very open race.

Ian Butler
Looking forward to that, too! The favorites aren't 100%, so the second line smells a chance. I see riders like Bakelants and Monfort bringing Boonen & Gilbert in trouble! I'd watch out for Meersman, too!

And finally we'll have another Belgian victory (has to be Pfft

Boonen, Gilbert, Meersman, Van Avermaet, Roelandts, Van den Broeck, Hermans, Bakelants, Monfort... they all have a chance to win. In 2011 and 2012 everyone knew the winner on forehand but this year we'll see a very open race with a lot of action.

I'm interested to see how far Kevin Pauwels can get on this year's course.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ian Butler
If he wins, I'll blow my head off with a shotgun. Really Pfft

Meh, why not make the Dutch NC more mountainous, so that you know who has a better chance.
Oh wait. I don't think that's possible, until Thijs Zonneveld makes his plan of building a mountain in the Netherlands come true Pfft

I'd like to see Van Asbroeck win it. Also watch out for someone like Vandousselaere. He has been showing form and was third last year and he can ride well over most terrains.

Will he go for the ITT-title?

Will he go for the ITT-title?

Well, I don't know.
He will ride it at least, but I'm not sure about his form.
If he rode the mountain TT of Suisse badly on purpose(as in 'Not going for it'), then there's a possiblity that he's still on good form and goes for it. If he just couldn't do a lot better,t hen I fear that his form won't be good enough to be a contender.

Nah, I can see Clement winning this, with maybe Boom & Westra as other favourites.
I can see Dumoulin surprising with maybe a Top 3.

I think Kelderman's form is okay enough to get a Top 5 at least, maybe better :P

Well, Im afraid we have to rule out Westra, as he is just recovering from his crash and probably not fully in shape. I hoped it would have been different but well, I cant change anything about that

Oh yeah, he crashed, forgot about it.
Well, to please you I could've mentioned Weening now, but just no Pfft

Right, Dumoulin having a big chance on a Top 3 then. He had some awesome TT development in the past year Wink

The startlist has Stannard, Rowe, Edmondson, Kennaugh and Swift. No Thomas.

those too but the Dutch NC has basically been Rabobank against the rest. I think that they would give the NC to Gesink within the team

Make it end on a downhill. Ta-dah, I just torpedoed that plan

Sorry but Gesink is an excellent climber. He's just the unluckiest guy in the world. Also, Kelderman is very spirited and attacks a lot. With the right profile, he could go a long way. But I reckon it's a flat one? Pfft

The two portuguese national champions José Gonçalves (TT, La Pomme Marseille) and Manuel Cardoso (RR, Caja Rural) will try to defend this weekend their titles.

But in opposition from last year, all the big stars will be there including Rui Costa (Movistar), Tiago Machado and Nélson Oliveira (Radioshack), Bruno Pires and Sérgio Paulinho (Saxobank). From this list only Rui Costa will participate on the time trial.

Provisional start lists (Tomorrow is the last day for inscriptions):
