turns out he admitted to using epo from 1995 to 1997 and nothing more.

yeah, only he tested positive for EPO in 2001.

unbelievable....even when "coming clean" he can't fully do it. it's amazing how much these idiots lie.

Well. 3 out of 5 good danish riders from the 90's have been on EPO (at least officially). Claus Michael Möller and Rofl Sörensen, we are waiting for you two to admit as well.

Nathan O'Neil Failed a test for an apetite supressant. According the the UCI he is allowed to use it with a prescription (which his is) but there is to be no trace of it during competition. I don't see how he would be violating any UCI rules if this is the offseasonRolling Eyes

It was mentioned by isso and me on the previous page Wink

The positive test was taken during the season, not the off-season, therefore illegal.

Cyclingnews:

Jef d'Hont's book Confessions of a Cycling Soigneur set off shockwaves throughout pro cycling when it was issued this spring. Now the Belgian has said that there is more to come. "I am writing a second book with more doping disclosures," he told SportBild. And those disclosures will center on one very prominent name: "There will be new evidence against Jan Ullrich."

"Jan Ullrich doped with EPO in 1996," d'Hont said bluntly, even though a court has issued an injunction prohibiting such statements, at Ullrich's request. "I am not afraid of the attorneys, because I am writing the truth," d'Hont said.

nothing surprising, really

what I've been thinking is...
Boogerd and Julich were right there with the rest of the climbers all throughout the 1998 Tour. what does that say about them? interesting is also the fact that neither repeated the feat.

I still don't think that any top 50-rider in the 90s were clean -- and that also counts for Boogerd and Julich.

There's one thing I don't get about TMO... In 2003 they hired supposedly top riders to replace Ullrich. Evans, Savoldelli, Botero, Vinokourov. Except for the later it's all been a waste.
The explanation at that time was that TMO/Telekom was a relatively clean team, compared to the former teams of those riders, and to their next teams (they all startd getting good results again, once they had left that team).

Now, thanks to the 1997 Telekom team, to Sinkewitz and to other doping cases that occured within that team, we know there was a team doping there all through that era.

How come Savo, Evans and Botero sucked that much at TMO then ? Frown

it's so simple you picked the best choices for not hire them to be a team mate in the GT for a big leader because they are leaders they have personal objectives not to serve the leader like kloden who's mentality just sucks pay me good and i will even relay in qatar for everybody .....

Breaking news:
Michael Rasmussen is currently doing a press conference stating he was in fact not in Mexico (surprise).

BUt also that he did not lie to Rabobank, and that he was in Italy for "mariage related issuses..." (!!!)

More to follow.
Is he simply saying: I was with my mistress?

Botero was past it, as he abundantly showed later.

Savoldeli and Evans were injured all the time. Julich had some sort of chronic illness and even Vino injured himself a few times.

It's weird. I will await Rabobank's report on Monday before having any opinion Wink

Okay, I've now had time to collect some information about the press conference. Rasmussen says, as mentioned, that yes, he did lie, he was not in Mexico, and yes, he was in Italy. But Rabobank knew everything about it - he even had a meeting with Breukink on the 16th of June.

We knew that. He added that he has never ever doped in his entire career, and that Enrico Carpani from UCI has confirmed that there are no positive tests - not from this year's Tour de France either. That's no surprise either.

The surprise is that Rasmussen decided to present all his blood values, just like the blood passport will work. He said that he's the first rider to present the blood passport -- and here's his blood values:
Date Place Hematocrit Haemoglobin
16.03.2005 Peschiera 41,0 13,9

i really have no idea what them things in the 2nd half of your post mean, is it simply proving he has been within the legal limits of Hematocrit and Haemoglobin for the whole year?

Yes, but that's not the point.

The point is to prove that his blood values have not varied too much, meaning that he can't possibly (according those values) have used blood doping. The two numbers are the numbers which are supposed to be used in the blood passport next season. If the values vary too much, you will be suspended.

Anyway, as said, I have no opinion until Monday Wink

I was reading the full Jaksche interview, and whether he's lying or telling the truth is irrelevant, because I just want to say I think this sums up the local mentality perfectly. a quote by Jaksche:

In Spain, you could tape EPO syringes to your windshield and no one would stop you
