If more than one wants to make one, just do it and we can have a poll I want VolksWagen and Mapei on it, and I want it based on the good old colored-bricks mapei jersey. Other than that you got total freedom

New equipment to be shown off in VolksWagen-Mapei's first Pro Tour Season
Following a luck promotion the VolksWagen-Mapei cycling team have presented their new equipment, made by the brilliant designer "Cavendish-fan". The team has elected to go for a darker look this year, while still having classic details that respect the team traditions.
We really appriciate the great work by Cavendish-Fan

Very nice work! Should look great in the ProTour peloton. Wish you good luck for next year, your team's one of my favourites.
Btw, now that we've secured our PCT place next year I'd like to declare an interest in Damien Gaudin. To carry out our assault of the Africa Tour in 2014 as I plan to then we'll need a good cobbles rider, so I hope we can reach a deal for him! |

Gaudin is a rider that most likely will leave the team, maybe Kenya is his next stop?

Lots of rumours about VolksWagen riders
The last race of the season has been raced, promotion and relegation has been decided, and the transfer windows is close to opening. This means there are a lot of rumours about riders flying around.
When it comes to VolksWagen there seems to be many riders on the way out following the promotion. Two of the strongest riders linked away are Vadim Ratiy and Damien Gaudin. There are two teams that are said to be first in the battle for Ratiy, these are the two biggest Ukrainian teams. Are the rumours true? We can't be sure, but Ratiy himself have stated that he wants to be more with his familiy so it will be interesting to see.
Gaudin was the cobble leader for VolksWagen last year, and with Zepuntke getting stronger it seems natural that he will leave. Rumours state that there are several teams interested in Gaudin, both French and even African teams. Team manager Heine has stated that Guadin most likely will leave the team and that they are looking for a deal that is both good for him and the team.
There are also other riders that might leave VolksWagen. The strong sprinter Castenada feels that the team focuses more on young Zabel than on he has told the press that he wants a team that will give him the support he needs to take the next step. According to him he will never get it in VolksWagen when (quoted) "That golden boy with a famous father is there". Martijn Keizer had a kind of a redemption after some bad seasons and has been a good leader for VolksWagen, but according to our sources he might also be leaving the team. Our sources say that there has been disagreements between him and the management about his dediation to the team. Teams linked to Keizer include several PT and PCT teams, will be interesting to see where he ends up.
There is also several riders rumoured to be of interest for VolksWagen. Rumours about VolksWagen interest in Ullissi and Steurs from Festina have been reported earlier, and it is also said that the former TDF-winner Markus Fothen are of interest. From the disbanding team Pearl Adidas it is said that VolksWagen has talked to the agents of Jan Bakelants and Romain Sicard, but no sources confirm this. It is also rumoured that Markus Burghardt could be a VolksWagen target. Other riders that VolksWagen is supposed to have an interest in is Mark Cavendish, Andrea Guardiani, Carlos Betancour, Yasmani Martinez, Silvio Herklotz, Tony Martin, Jakob Fiedler, Elia Viviani and Adam Petrie Armstrong. We can only assure the readers of one thing, they will not be able to land all of them.

Guardini has his bags packed ready for a one year loan to max out. We'd be more than happy to see him spend that with our friends in Wolfsburg |

Gaudin is on the provisional list at Boeing as well, we will look to boost our cobbles side a bit more in the off-season

The rumours Privatbank needs a leader in the mountains are true. However it's not certain if the team will try to get Ratiy to fill that spot, several other riders are capable of doing so.

Damien Gaudin would be interesting for us. Markus Fothen has expressed his interest in joining your team, aswell as Geert Steurs.

VolksWagen might sell South Americans
With the large influx of new South American teams to the CT we would like to announce that we might sell our South Americans, specially Fulgencio Bru and Gilber Zurita.

Ratiy looking further east than Ukraine for 2014?
It is reported that Ukrainian stage racing star Vadim Ratiy is set to find a new home after a couple of seasons with the newly promoted Volkswagen-Mapei team.
Privatbank-Nemiroff and Metinvest-Emirates have both opened the door for a move back to Ukraine, but recent comments from Mr. Pelli - team manager of Kazzinc Procycling - indicate that the 26-year old Ratiy may be on his way to Kazakhstan for the upcoming season.
"Vadim is currently the rider we see as most suitable for replacing Gianpaolo [Caruso], who is leaving." were Pelli's words in a recent interview. Currently on vacation, he hasn't been able to elaborate on his team's plans, but it is clear that a certain Ukrainian is on their wishlist.
Does Volkswagen-Mapei's manager see a move like this happening?

Where Ratiy ends up next season is not decided in any way, so it can just as well be Kazakhstan. His next team will be decided by who offers us the best deal, but for us and the rider
