11th March
Paris - Troyes
Ernesto Baretto:
In a hotly contested sprint finish, won by John Degenkolb, Manfred Sys was simly outclassed. He managed to valiantly bump and elbow his way past the line in 15th position, missing out on our sponsor's objective of a top 10 placing.
Playboy have however been most understanding, and were pleased with the coverage the team recieved throughout the race, with Juan Andrés Moragues distinguishing himself in the early break, and Manfred being touted as a possible winner by commentators
Manfred Sys - 15th |

11th March
Kattekoers
Edik Komalchevsky wins Kattekoers!
Vernie Kunze:
In its first taste of the cobbled classics, playboy was able to completely dominate in a race that Edik Komalchevsky won, with Matty Vanderjeugt finishing 7th, Dimitri Van Den Bergh 8th, Marnix Dirikx 13th and Øle Høle 18th.
The team worked well in concert to set a pace that stopped any other favourites from catapulting off the front on the many sharp climbs within the race, and had the fitness and nous to be on the right side of important splits on the cobbled sections. The pairings of Van Den Bergh and Vanderjeugt, and Høle with Dirikx, were able to support Komalchevsky, whilst keeping enough in reserve to place well themselves.
We are all thrilled at this first win from an amazing young talent on an amazing young team.
Edik Komalchevsky - 1st
Matty Vanderjeugt - 7th
Dimitri Van Den Bergh - 8th
Marnix Dirikx - 13th
Øle Høle - 18th |

It hasn't! MTSN98 is just going off to uni today, and I'm going off on friday, so it's all been a bit hectic.
Top that off with him having a weekend taken up with coaching rugby/cricket and me having a 4yr old birthday party/dinner party and the london triathlon (and getting to drink some champagne for my efforts/enjoying the company of a couple of olympians ) and it makes for a thread in stasis
Fear not! Playboy still has passion (and it's still passion for cycling)
I'll see what I can do this evening, and there'll probably be more before friday... might be a bit of a gap after friday though as I can't remember if my laptop will play PCM.., worst case scenario is christmas although mtsn might be able to carry on the career (watch playboy crumble into a sky/radioshack style team. I WILL cry)
Well that was long winded |

Official Press Release
After 5 days passed out on a weird cocktail of champagne, beetroot juice, and cherry concentrate in the wake of winning Kattekoers, Playboy Project II is finally set to be back in action in the Handzame GP, Route Loire Atlantique, and GP de Cholet, as well as the Tour de Normandie. The team is immensely excited, and hopes to carry their form and success into the coming races.
We are also proud to announce the two new sponsors who's wears we have been gorging on, Beet It and Cherryactive. No, we weren't lying about champagne, beetroot and cherry; it is a combination, and a fairly lethal one at that.

16th March
Handzame GP
Vernie Kunze:
Playboy Project suffered a bit of a wake up call at the Handzame GP. After dominating Kattekoers, the boys faced up against such stiff opposition as Tom Veelers, Lars Ytting Bak, and John Degenkolb in their attempts to make their mark in Handzame.
The boys proved very strong and were able to stay with the lead group on the hilly cobbled sections at the beginning of the race, but failed to save any real punch for the series of attacks that the smooth, flat run in to Handzame presented them. Matty Vanderjeugt and Edik Komalchevsky were dropped from the front group in the closing kilometres, finishing in 12th and 14th places respectively, a thoroughly reputable performance.
Matty Vanderjeugt - 12th
Edik Komalchevsky - 14th |
