No school, got weekend... 
Tuesday and Thursday first tests of this year... I should be fine...

Ohh and ehmm, fcacellara:
I had to make a decision last year, it's hard. Just visit the schools, read as much as possible about the studies, ask other students, talk with your teachers about it, discuss it with your parents but never let them influence your decision. They can just give you information which could change your mind, if your mom says history will get boring, and if she didn't study it, do not listen, unless she has some great arguments.
I ended up choosing Maths, at first I really thought, wtf did I choose!?! Now it's quite ok, next period it'll get more interesting as it will aim to the future instead of recapping secondary school.

Ah, I'm in exactly the same situation. Also in dutch 4th grade in a school with exams in the 6th grade (VWO, same as you I guess)
At my School we have 1 hour a week where professional people help us with our choices. Not that I know what I want to do already, but at least I know which things I don't like, so there are less options left, and hey, we both got 2 years left.
Don't they have people helping with your choices at your school cancellara?

I can tell you that Psychology is just the ability to study hard. So if you want a diploma by just studying, that's the way to go
Journalist is quite some writing, but in a formal way, obviously.
ICT is awesome, do that |

Got my A-level History exam tomorrow -.- 3 hours of toture. I got 87% for AS Cold War so I need to get atleast 73% this time to keep that A. Modern European History, French Revolution, Napoleon, New Imperialism and Russian Revolution. Dammit Europe why did you have to do some many things! |

About Maths, what are your ambitions? I can't really think of too much uses of advanced maths in daily life

We have like 1 conversation a year with the 'decaan', but that's mostly it

Psychology just seemed very interesting to me, but more in a way of like having consults with patients with mental problems, not really doing much research. I rather rely on my general knowledge instead of studying though (that's why I suck at German and French, but am good at geography and history)
Journalist seems quite cool to me too, but for English we already need to write formal newspaper articles etc, so the writing wouldn't be much of a big deal. Except when I have no inspiration, it takes ages when this is the case
ICT is so broad, I wouldn't know what exactly I'd like to do...

Oh yeah, forgot about that... I did 'Gymnasium' the first year but I got really bored with it... And there is no TTO on our school, Although we have 'Cambridge English' and I might gonna do that...
But ontopic: Seriously? Just 1 in a year? We have a whole program for our choice and we have at least 1 time in a month a conversation with our 'Decaan'(Really don't know what the english word for 'Decaan' is...)

About Maths, what are your ambitions? I can't really think of too much uses of advanced maths in daily life
My ambitions? Not that much actually, have yet to decide, it's a broad study, there are like 20 possible jobs for me after this study. I could decide routes for truckdrivers, work at an insurance office, Dutch Railroads, I could work at a school and make schoolschedules, I could be a forecaster at the stockmarket and more...

I gotta be honest, I never ever saw anything about New Zealand in my courses, only in geography. But I guess history would be pretty boring if it was only about your own country, in your case, no? |

I gotta be honest, I never ever saw anything about New Zealand in my courses, only in geography. But I guess history would be pretty boring if it was only about your own country, in your case, no?
In fairness, a big chunk of history is just about the brits...
And to be honest, Back in the senior cycle in school I did History and Irish history between the late 1800's (actually more or less the death of Daniel O'Connel) up until 1949 are the most interesting topics you can cover in history. To bad, that the brits wont teach it, cause they got a more than 1 rough beating out of it, and no one else in europe gives a damn, cause Ireland was never a superpower...
Ah, the irish struggle for independence and the blood involved...
And lets not forget the actions of the "RA" (IRA) in the 6 counties up north. That includedtrying to blow up Margaret Thatcher on the toilet...

Crap load of American history for me... and just the major major events of the world like the Wars (well really only the ones we sticked our noses in) and such. It's no wonder why people call American's self-centered. Because that's what they teach us in school.

What part of the IRA history did you study? If its the 60's and so forth, than thats not the real but only the provisional "RA"...

I don't remember completely (it's a while ago) but I thought mainly the British reigning like assholes and then some fights (bloody sunday) and then independence for Southern Ireland. |

Eire has been independent since 1919 (or 1922, it depends how you look at it), whereas Bloody Sunday events happened in 1972 in Northern-Ireland. |

Irelands in-official independence (well it sorta was a complete independence) was in 1919 with the founding of Dail Eireann. We can see that as the actual independence cause BBC and other world media were present at the first meeting.
In 1920 Northern Ireland became somewhat indeopendent (Home Rule)
In 1921, Ireland was excluded from the English Empire and got the level of Dominion Status (as Australia, Canada and NZ).1st recognised Independence... Sorta, as Foreign policy were still UKs business
1930's-> Dominions get the same stand as the UK in the Commonwealth
1949-> Costellos government passes the bill to decare ireland fully independent!
The struggle up north continues, or in better words: Shit just got real!
