@Rin
I like the managing/sport game too. Well, i've seen that the training is quite different form the last version, so it would be interesting see how it works (i'm downloading the demo now). Reading what you've written i hope the game would be better than the beta otherwise i'll use my old FMPfft. Hope to try the demo tonight and then i'll decide. Are there restrictions in Germany for the game?

The "general" training in FM12 with the columns etc. is replaced by a really general training.

You set for a week what they train (Attacking, Ball Control, Defending, Teamwork, Fitness, Balanced). Also you can setup how hard they should train from very light to very hard.

And there is a column how much time you would like to spend on match preparation.

And the match preparation trainings are:
Attacking Movement, Defending Movement, Attacking Set Pieces, Defending Set Pieces, Team Cohesion and Tactics only

If you put it at the maximum of "more", then there will be 2 days of match preparation before a game. Also there are 2 boxes where you can tick off rest days like rest day before or (and) after a match. I don't know if there aren't match days, if they will train the default stuff.

There are also 2 default training options 1 for general and 1 for match preparation in case you forget to set it up.
If you don't set each week (3 weeks every time but only the next 3 weeks but not in advance for every week of a year) training up, the default training will be used.

The other training is where you can setup what the focuses of the player will be:
There are 3 percentages:
1 for attribute/role, 1 for new position and 1 for preferred move.

So if you train a player a attribute/role, a new position and a preferred move at the same time, the percentages will be each at 33% etc.

Why the FM isn't allowed to be sold in Germany (officially, I ordered my copy from amazon.co.uk)
EA has got the exclusive license from the DFB and DFL to resemble the Bundesliga since 2008.
Thats why the FM07 was the last FM from SI sold in Germany.

The Beta is updated so I will again make a new save game with a team I had before, maybe I will have more luck this time.

Thamks for the advice, now i'm trying the demo

I would still wait because I still feel playing over the middle is pretty much useless (so you have to have FB plus Wingers) and even though they managed to get lesser goals from crosses the strikers get and score because the defense now intercepts them a lot better, now many times the crosses to directly in because the goalkeeper doesn't get them.. Goalies are stronger one on one and get loose balls better but they are still very weird goals in a lot.

I have to wait as amazon.co.uk just started to ship it yesterday and I don't like the beta status.
But I feel that with the updates they made for the beta, I wouldn't cancel it.

There are still some issues but the really buggy ones are polished out for example 90% of your goals come from crosses.

But now the wingers try to cross the ball directly into the goal and it happened 3 times that I saw these goals..
Winger crossed to the goal, goalkeeper gets it on the head, neck or back and goes into the goal.
I have to say I scored 2 of them and just received one of these weirdgols.

But I would suggest don't watch the 3D highlights with just the "key" highlights..
I think the next one was "extended" and these are better even the matches last longer to watch. At least for me.

Ive been playing the FMC mode with Blackpool, things are going very well.

Im in March and currently 2nd in the league on goal difference behind Wolves and just ahead of Blackburn. Enjoyed a nice cuo run where I beat a youthful Newcastle team 5-0 before being knocked out by QPR narrowly 1-0. No such luck in the FA Cup though, early exit in the 3rd Round to Sheff Utd.

Players in: Willfried Zaha, Victor Anichibe, Adam Cummins, Jason Lowe and Diego Arismendi.

Really enjoying this game, hoping for promotion to the Premier League where we can then build towards getting a mid table finish in a few seasons time.

The game isn't fun with the match engine at the moment..
The engine is the worst engine I saw from a management game ever. I don't mind the graphics (not one management game looked good compared to up-to-date games) but it looks still very terrible:

No signs of stepovers or out-playing the opponents.. They are just running over the fullbacks or will be closed down and just stand at the sideline/touchline looking for a pass. It looks like they are prisoners there as they just rotate slowly and then passing.
Also the players doesn't even try to play more through balls.. The goals look all over the same:
Cross -> header or volley -> goal
Counterattack -> shot -> goal
Cross directly towards the net -> goalkeeper like the good old english keepers and their blunders -> goal
and if you have someone like Hitzlsperger, midfielder shoots from the distance very hard -> goal

The midfielders are trying too often to shoot from the distance, even if you restrict them no matter if "Long shots -> rare" or and "Creative Freedom -> not much". They try too often to shoot instead of playing a (through) ball to the attacking midfielder or forwards. Also they don't even try to play a high through ball to the forwards when playing around the opponents box.

Also the players vision and anticipating is very bad.. Sometimes there is a ball very close to them and they don't even try to get the ball. Sometimes they are even runaway for no reason.

I played over 100 hours (with the start of the beta) and I haven't got one save game that was near enjoyable.
Yesterday my try with Brisbane Roar, I had a very good pre-season (seldom to have that) with 7 friendly games winning 6 with a clean sheet and losing 1 0-1.
But then got raped by every single team in the A-League like 1-4 or 0-3.

I don't play FMC, but I saw several posts in various forums that playing on FMC might be a little bit easier somehow..

I will start today another save game, but will write every single thing put and post them into the SI forum maybe getting something why I suck or why the engine could be bad.

I start to regret buying instead of canceling the order.. I buy seldom games but it's par with FIFA Street (2012) buying both on release day which I used to do seldom, but might buying more seldom any game especially not on release day..

The funny thing is that Everton avoided relegation thankfully to a victory in Merseyside derby in the last week of the season - and so LFC relegates instead. Grin

Had looked forward to the new Classic mode as I think it'd appeal to someone like me who couldn't care less about the advanced functions of the game.

... then I realized you're only able to pick three leagues. Bummer.

I am waiting for a updated DB (with winter transfers) to have a "career" game, but I managed to get over a season in Poland with Piast Gliwice. Normally they are a relegation candidate but managed to hold them in the league at 11th (from 16). Weird is that at the first half of the season, I was 7th. Somehow the winter break breaks the teams neck.. But the best part I had the top goalscorer in my team.. 25 games and 14 goals.. 2nd placed had just 11 goals XD

Messi scored 12 goals in 12 games, Barcelona beating Chelsea 2-1 at the CL finals.
Dortmund went to the semifinals losing against Barcelona 0-4 and at Camp Nou 3-3.

ManCity won the Premier League but managed to lose 117 million euros in that season. Whilst Dortmund and Bayern had a profit of 236 and 300 million euros.

Premier League Table:
1. ManCity by a mile (more than 10 points ahead of ManUtd)
2. ManUtd
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool
5. Tottenham
6. Arsenal
7. Wigan ??? (Al-Habsy was 2nd in clean sheets behind Hart)
8. Fulham
9. Everton

I still can't manage to make a good 4-2-3-1 tactic.. Everytime they fail to score some goals. The results I have are mainly 1-1 or 1-0 or 2-0.. Very seldom 3-1 or so. After 30 games I had 36 goals and 39 conceded goals :S

Starting with another team I don't know yet, will make a very classic 4-4-2 system as that worked for me a lot better at FM12 (demo) and some tests at FM13.

Funny that in the demo version, Everton and Liverpool were leaders in a quick start with the main European leagues someone made. Pfft

I don't know if I am just dumb or anything but somehow this game is unenjoyable because whatever team I take and no matter how much effort I put into everything, my team sucks..

Now taking Monaco and losing 4 games one of them in the cup against a Ligue 2 team :S

Even though the FIFA Manager might be bad, at least it's more enjoyable than this game, putting it onto the "regret to buy it" list with FIFA Street

Did you try FM Classic?

FM is a very complex game where micro-management is needed if you really want to get great results. That's what happens when more and more features are added each year.

To satisfy fans like me who doesn't have that time / interest, they've made FM Classic mode which reduces the amount of work you have to do as a manager. I'm guessing that also makes it somewhat easier to get good results with good teams.

I tried it at the very beginning but having just 3 playable countries were too few for me.
But now I think about it as otherwise I think waiting for patches would be too long.

But I don't know why so many (not just me) are struggling with the game when I look around the FM forums..
I could manage to get at least expected results at the FM12 demo but now it's not that possible even though I am playing more or less the same way.
