This really has been a strong race thus far for Hollister. I do find it amazing that Greipal has been unable to take a single flat stage as yet.
The big mountain section is coming up fast though, we should see some sort of challenge coming soon.

Wow, Jørgensen's sprinting got even worse
Another good report, CountArach. |

Another 3rd, I can only imagine how many wins
Maksimov could of had if he didn't abandon.

Finally Ziegler got paid off, well done!
With Vasquez, Jørgensen and Viennet crashing, I can only hope they're not injured. Especially Vasquez, as I'm hoping for some climbing magic from him (breakaway). It doesn't look good for Viennet though, as he arrived behind most of the crashers.
I feel sorry for the other crashers aswell, especially those with hope of doing "something" in the mountains. Hopefully they're all okay, ready to go crazy in the mountains.
And thanks for an informative report, CountArach.

This race has been ruined, because of Hollister not getting affected by weird happenings and crashes, what so ever, when it come to GC...
Greipel is, once again, failing.

Good performance from Agudelo there, being very aggressive, and still having something left for the sprint. Nice to see that Vasquez is most likely not hurt aswell.
Looking forward to see how much damage the "real" mountain stages will do. |

The last couple of flat stages, have been really frustrating with the crashes and all the time lost by some of the leaders. Fortunately this first mountain stage was more just. Also it's motivating to see all of my team putting an effort to either be part of the break or going for the stage in the later parts of the stage.
However, it would be nice to win a stage instead of another painfully close 2nd place

Hopefully the next 3 stages shake out the GC and remove Hollister from the top 3 spots, because they are taking my points

And yet I'm still not doing anywhere near as well as Pellizotti's team last year |

It is unfortunate that a few of the lower placed GC hopes did not get some lee-way on the first mountain stage. I bet the game will see them as bigger threats now that they are higher on GC as well.
Hollister are bagging an excellent 13 points a stage with the GC and the points lead. They really are making it hard for any others to rack up the points. That said Emy Export are starting that stage winning habit again.
I'll be honest I am evilly spying Aker Solutions hoping for a complete points washout, sorry ember had a few too many spankings from Alarcon
This next stage interestingly looks the most likely elimination stage, at least one of the useless Proximus boys I suspect will go. Jorgenson could be the biggest name casualty! Oh yeah I am feeling evil!

Karma always strikes back. Always. Don't say you weren't warned, Smowz!
Seriously though, this won't be a good race at all thinking of points. But to my "defense," I never thought about promotion in the transfer season/planning, and this looked like a fun race to participate in, and here we are
And it's shaping up to be a fun race aswell, hopefully the coming stages can provide fireworks, which I'm sure they'll, as they've got the profile to do just that. |

This was an amazing stage to play just by the way. The MTT will probably be a couple of days thanks to work commitments, but enjoy wild speculation in the meantime!

That was one heck of a stage! And finally a win for Kessiakoff! Now Greipel needs one too, and thus saving the race.

Anton needs to find better spots to attack and then hopefully he can pull some time back. Because it clearly looks like he is the only one that wants to challenge Hollister

Wow, amazing report, CountArach!
Was Vasquez blocked at the final climb? He looked pretty fast over the top, and even descended well. Shame he couldn't keep up on the early kilometers of the climb.
Congratulations to WWE, and thanks again, for a superb report. |

Always happy to write these stages up, as long as everyone continues to want me to.
I don't think Vasquez was blocked, no. Pretty much everyone at that final climb deserved to be there. Just someone in front of him (Seeldraeyers?) couldn't hold the wheel as Anton set the pace, so the riders behind him all lost contact. Nothing to do with blocking. The first two climbs had a bit of blocking and the third climb only had one minor instance (with no one missing out really) but he last climb was quite fine.
